Annoying Things People Do

I noticed a ton of people during the fireworks shows holding up phones and tablets recording the entire fireworks show.

1. Stand in the back, it's annoying to everyone behind you having your bright screen glowing in their face

2. Youtube probably has 65,813 videos of the same fireworks show if you really want to watch it again. Put down your recording device and enjoy the moment.

I am easily annoyed :D

There are lots of things that annoy me...but of course, when in WDW, NOTHING ever annoys me enough to truly ruin the day or the trip.

1. Ipad and phone users on dark rides or during night time parades and fireworks.
2. Flash photos on dark rides.
3. Light up toys/ears/necklaces on dark rides or during nighttime shows parades fireworks.
4. Line cutters
5. Last minute folks who show up before a parade and try to horn in your spot.
6. People being mean to others.
7. Teens cutting up at HM/ToT with the fake screaming.
8. Service dogs in the park that aren't service dogs (that pavement is HOT on those poor unprotected paws)
9. Drunk and disorderly behavior
10. Kids put up on shoulders during shows/parades/fireworks.
11. People feeding the animals...for that matter, people simply NOT following rules.

I always wonder how many times the people doing the annoying "hold up your phone/tablet" thing actually watch the video. If they watch it at all, it's probably only once because it's usually poor quality.

I like to think that I'm more patient these days, but the thing that I just can't get past is flash photography on attractions where it's prohibited. It's just so jarring.

My guess is most people film to post on social media, showing off to their friends/family. I doubt many watch their videos once they return home.

We were watching the belly dancer in Morocco when this woman stepped in front of us and held up a huge ipad and started filming. We could not see a thing! My husband tapped her on the shoulder to move on, but she just had no clue. I was annoyed. Not enough to ruin my evening or good time, but definitely annoyed.

I really only get annoyed at the narcissistic way that people behave in the parks. There are countless examples, but the one that bothers me most is stopping in the middle of a path. Seriously, there are tens of thousands of people in the park with you. Move over to the side to discuss your plans, read your map, yell at your kids or whatever. You have to keep your head on a swivel because no one is watching where they are going or considering the people around them as they navigate the parks.

I know a lot of people complain about people with strollers, but the people around strollers can be just as bad! I hate those that think stepping over my stroller AND CHILD in the stroller is acceptable. Someone could really get hurt doing that, especially if the stroller is in motion, and god help you if it's my kid.

I agree with your list. But 1, 2, & 10 annoy me the most. Esp #10! If its a shorter kid, I don't mind if they stand in front of me. But an adult, no flippin way!

And yes, holding up a tablet way up high during fireworks or a parade, OMG! :furious:

I also can't stand when I have an ipod in my face and have to watch shows/fireworks through their screen. I usually take a few quick and I mean quick pics and my phone is back down, I really don't want to be the person blocking someone else's view!

I do the same! Its called common courtesy. Im amazed at how rude people can be and either not care, or not realize it.

This Did make me lol as not only does this annoy me in the parks, I work off Oxford Street in London and now it's summer I find people doing this on a daily basis - just need to breath and stay calm :furious:

It all boils down to the same thing, common sense and common courtesy aren't as common as we hope. Some people seem unable to recognize they are part of a very large crowd and should behave accordingly. My favorite from last week, the mother who decided her son was spending too much time drying his hands in the men's room, so she barged in, screaming, walking through the entire bathroom to pull him out by his collar. Dad sat outside on a wall pretending he didn't see it. Nothing says "classy" like a woman screaming in the men's room.

The people who stop and stand in the middle of the path are the most annoying, IMO, especially when they come to an abrupt halt right in front of me. I think there are a lot of people who are truly oblivious to what goes on around them.

When people look left and right, then step right in front of me. Then get upset because I almost run into them with the scooter.

Or worse, when I have to stop dead so I don't hit someone in front of me, and instead, someone runs into me from behind because they can't walk and talk at the same time.

Edit to add: This walking into me from behind isn't right after a stop. They walk into me because they aren't watching where they are going.

10. Kids put up on shoulders during shows/parades/fireworks.

I don't know the solution to this one. I understand why kids are on shoulders, but they do block many watchers. Maybe a section on the side for these guests.

I don't find it "annoying" per se, but I truly don't understand the idea of videotaping (I said taping...I'm so old...) fireworks or the other shows, especially if it's the first time you've seen it. I would so much rather watch the show through my own two eyes than through a video screen...when the event is happening right in front of me. Sometimes I'll see people hold their phone/camera up through the entire show. I'm not watching them, I'm watching the show, but I do notice it. I can't help but thinking they're missing the show. I suppose if you've seen the show many times and you want to video it for someone else, I get it. But if you're a first timer, put the phone/video down and enjoy the show with your own eyes. As others said, there are plenty of videos on YouTube of most everything at WDW. And yes, I agree, if you're going to pull your video camera out, be courteous to others around you.

Years ago, when my kids were younger, I did put them on my shoulders. OK, well, one at a time. I'm strong, but not THAT strong. :crazy2: Before I did, I looked around to make sure there was nobody directly behind me. And yeah, that's a tough problem to solve, because I really do understand both sides of that issue.

Only other thing I can think of that bothers me is when I see people doing things they're really not supposed to on the rides. Standing up, touching things, etc... They're likely the same people that cause the ride to be shut down and restarted (I've been told by CMs that 90% of rides going down are due to guests doing things they shouldn't).

Got a table in Cantina San Angel to watch illuminations and there was a couple at a table in front of us but we could easily see around them. Right before it starts literally 10 members of their family come and stand around their table and block our view completely. They knew exactly what they were doing and didn't care. So rude!

There's a FANTASTIC Louis CK standup about this. I can't post or recite it for obvious reasons. He basically jokes about parents that tape their kids' recitals then post it on the internet. He claims "no one actually watches it. They watch one frame and say "AMAZING!"" It's a very funny take on how everyone lives for social validation and fails to enjoy the moment.

parents can hold children normally. They would be at the parents eye level.
