Annoying Sellers

Thanks everyone. I'm going to call in the morning and see what my options are. I thought once I signed the contracts then I'm pretty much stuck until it's done. There are several other contracts we were looking at and would like to move forward on those if this one doesn't work. Glad there's a place to come when things get frustrating :grouphug:

Well, since this is the Annoying Sellers thread...

5/2 offer placed
5/4 offer accepted
5/15...still waiting on sellers to return their contract.

Seriously people, what is up with that?

That totally sucks. Find out what the delay is and when they are going to return the signed contract. If that is not acceptable to you, move on.

Check your contract but there should be a clause that states that the sellers have 7 days to sign and return the contracts. If they don't, you can void the contract.

I had a similar thing happen and it was 14 days that the seller had to get paper work in. The seller at day 14 had still not signed the contract and I backed out!

I was also a seller who got word while at the airport going on a 10 ni trip (BLT) that the contract sold and DH and I were able to get the paper work printed off, signed and faxed back thanks to the front desk staff at CR. Even if this was not possible for us we would have at least let our agent know why there was a delay. Good luck but proceed with caution!

We're on day 58 of 60 for closing on our contract... per the title company yesterday, we're waiting on the seller to return her docs. They were promised for today, but I heard nothing. I'm now wondering if I go grumpy on them & remind them tomorrow that it's day 59 & I'm not at all afraid to walk on day 61, if that's what it takes. (It'd break my heart, but I'd do it.) I'm nothing short of impatient & frustrated! (and yeah, I know there are others who've waited longer. I'm not that patient - I need to make an Oct. ressie, darn it all!)

Contacted agent and found out sellers turned in their contract this morning! :cool1: plus sent to ROFR. So now the real waiting begins.:surfweb:

By the time this process is over, my baby will probably be graduating from college. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Yay! I'm so glad it worked out for you! :goodvibes I hope ROFR goes quickly.

Glad you're in, Princess! Best of luck to you going forward!

As of about 340 today, still no seller's docs to the title company & she hasn't responded to phone calls. Sigh... Why couldn't this be easier?!

If it were easier then it would be a direct purchase and it would be twice as much. :)

Day 77 and counting for a domestic resale contract. And that's all I've got to say about that. :rolleyes2

Geebers, i would not be happy, especially if it were my first contract which i know it is not for you.

 I just officially cancelled our contract this morning. Have been waiting 69 days for our sellers to return closing documents. They have gone totally silent. We hung on as long as we could because it was a sweet deal and we really, really wanted it but the complete lack of communication was too much.

I know there are other contracts out there with our names on them but it just makes me sick to my stomach to start this process from scratch all over again.

Why???????? If they didn't want to sell why did they even list it and accept our offer?????

Maybe they got run over by a bus. :scratchin

Has your broker had any luck getting ahold of them to find out what their problem is and if they actually plan to go through with the sale?

Will keep my fingers and toes crossed for since I know you were really looking forward to getting this contract.

Sorry to hear that. Starting over is a big pain, especially after making it through ROFR and then waiting this long for closing.

Best of luck finding your next contract.

Oh my gosh Dan! That's terrible! How are you not :furious:?

I'm so sorry you had to make that decision, so frustrating to get all the way through and then have to start again from square one.

Thanks for the good thoughts!

Thank you!

Wow! what's up with sellers these days? Don't they want our money? ;) I know if someone was trying to give me money, I'd be signing and sending faster than someone can post a smilie.

I thought the contract said that after 75 days the contract is null and void. Did they give a reason why? I'd be chomping at the bit.

Unbelievable. Hoping it isn't anything like an accident or medical. But like I said in the above response, do they NOT want our money???? Hope you find an even better deal very soon!

As far as I know there was no bus involved. Just a busy seller dragging his feet returning documents, etc. Like I said in another thread...different priorities. To me this is one of my main areas of focus. I'm pretty sure this seller has 100 things more important right now. Last I checked everything was returned and it will close soon...

What's killing me is that we're at the 10 month 4 day mark. I'm already 3 days late to book our big two family BLT/BWV split stay trip in April 2013! I doubt all the 2BR Theme Park View rooms will book in the next week, but even still it makes me uncomfortable.:worried:

Seller over here :wave2: ...

It doesn't make sense to me why anybody would drag their feet. Between email and faxing, it doesn't get any easier to return documents.

I'm only 6 days into the process (listed on 5/10, received offer and accepted it on 5/13, now just waiting) and I'm itching to get my check!!

Y'all are much more patient than I am. Our contract reads 60 days for closing... tomorrow is day 60. I can't imagine waiting months for that.

I hear you...really I do. But you bought the contract because it is something you wanted. So how does it do you any good to walk away? Now at some point enough is enough. Only you can decide what that point is.
