DH took me to WDW without the kids for our wedding anniversary 
Sept 20 -Oct 4. We stayed at the GF and here's the scoop (briefly).
Day 1 Leave home for Orlando, drive all day and stay offsite at Courtyard DD, not bad. Went to DD for an hour to get stuff for kids
Day 2, get up check out and get breakfast at the hotel, love Courtyard's breakfast buffets. Miss the kids already (hey it's our first time without them at Disney). Decide to go to MK before checking into GF. Get to MK and I (the Disneyfan) am soooo excited, I fee like a kid everytime we come. Stroll down mainstreet and look in the shops (and take our time not having to look after kiddies ~ we did get them a postcard first thing and mail it to them ad GP's). Head to tomorrowland and ride Buzz, no wait, got my highest score yet, then on to space mountain, again no wait!!. We stroll up to fantasyland and ride the tea cups. DH spun me so fast I couldnt stop laughing. Cast Member walked with us to Winnie the Pooh ride, very nice. Rode Winne the Pooh, 10 minute wait and then browsed some stores. Weather was soo hot. We rode the Snow White ride, which I hadn't done inyears then browsed more stores, suddenly hubby grabs my hand and takes me around the side of the castle, said he wanted to see the show, which is not him so I was wondering what was going on. We were standing at the wishing well, when a Pixie (Presentations: Gift of a lifetime) comes up to me and starts me off on the Survivor Anniversary Challenge. DH got me good, it was an amazing surprise!!!! Anyone who has a Disney fan they want to surprise at WDW needs to contact them, I LOVED IT!!!
After the challenge, 2 hours of clues and running and fun I was worn out so we went to the GF to check in. Slight glitch with out resie, but it was resolved easily. Staff was very nice. Took us to our room which was very pretty. I've dreamed of staying at the GF since it was built so I was sooo exited. No bar key in room so bellhop called for it, no robes in room so he called for those (we never got them). We unpacked and went to California Grill for dinner ~ WONDERFUL. As we were leaving the fireworks started so we got to see those.
