All things considered, if you were going to celebrate a 25th wedding anniversary which restaurant would you chose and why, the Yachtsman Steakhouse or Le Cellier ? Having trouble deciding . Any comments are most appreciated........

I really liked the food when I ate at Le Cellier last December, but the atmosphere wasn't terribly romantic. It was very crowded and kind of loud. Still a good restaurant, but maybe not the ambiance you're looking for.

I've never eaten at Yachstman Steakhouse, though, so I can't compare the two.

I hope you enjoy your anniversary wherever you end up dining! :)

To be honest, I would not recommend either one for a 25th anniversary dinner. Since they are both steak houses, I assume you may be looking for that type of food.

I would recommend Artist Point at WL. It has a few steaks including buffalo. It has very high ceilings and much more quiet than the ones you mentioned. My DW and I have celebrated both our 25th and 30th there and have dined there several times since. We have enjoyed it every time. We were the last diners there one December and were never rushed.

Be sure to tell them that you are clebrating a speciial anniversary and request a table by a window when you check in at the podium. For our 25th our server brought over a small cake with a "Happy Anniversary" and two crossed candles.

Happy 25th Anniversary! :goodvibes

Thanks for the replies, the reason I picked those two restaurants is because we are staying at the Beach Club Villas and would like to have a early dinner before we take the Illuminations cruise (hopefully). Also they both generally get good reviews.

We've never been to either one, but we'll be staying at the BC for our anniversary/holidays trip in December, and plan to eat at Yachtsman's Steakhouse for our first anniversary meal! It's close and we think it will be good, after seeing the menu. Besides, if you can't finish dessert, it's just a short walk back to your resort to enjoy later. :goodvibes

To be honest, I've not found a very romantic restaurant at WDW yet (not eaten at V&A sooo) but Le Cellier was wonderful food and I didn't think was as noisey as some places. Plus we did exactly what you plan to do. Walked right out and within 1/2 hour was Illuminations. Beautiful!

Haven't been to Yachtsman so no comment. It looks good on the two travel shows I've seen ... maybe a little roomier but sometimes those things are staged.

Are you looking for some place that takes the dining plan? If not, have you looked at Shula's at the Dolphin? No kids menu usually makes for a quieter, more romantic meal.

Thanks for all the replies. No plans to do the dining plan. Will have to do more research on Shula's.

I would definitely recommend the Yachtsman Steakhouse. I think it definitely has the edge over Le Cellier. I think it's best to stick with a non-theme park restaurant so the meal will be a little bit more romantic.

That's exactly the way I look at it. YSH is just a better restaurant and better for an anniversary dinner.

We had dinner at YST on our honeymoon- our first night at Disney on that trip. It was WONDERFUL. There is a table that is in the middle of the window , kind of a bay window. They gave us that table and wonderful service including a special dessert and a rose for me. Definitely tell them you're celebrating a special anniversary and request that table next to the window. It was fairly quiet and definitely romantic.

Although we have never eaten at Yachtsman, I think Le Cellier is a nice restaurant for an anniversary. We celebrated out 10th anniversary at WDW earlier this month and had a wonderful meal at Le Cellier.
We had our *actual* anniversary dinner at 1900 Park Fare - and it was a bad experience. We didn't note our anniversary on all of our reservations - just the actual day at Park Fare. However, we did wear the "Happy Anniversary" buttons all week long. When we checked in at Le Cellier, they noticed the buttons and treated us like royalty. They also gave us a certificate stating it was our anniversary with all of the staff's signature. The host staff and wait staff spent a lot of time chatting with us. The food was great and it was just a wonderful meal. We were seated at a 2-seater table and found that we could converse without a noise problem. It was romantic in the sense that we had great food, good company, wonderful service and outstanding ambience. By far the best meal we had all week!

:goodvibes Thanks for that tip! I just told my DH about what you posted, since we'll be eating there our first night at WDW, for our anniversary trip. I'm so excited about going there now, if only to get to sit by a window. If they do something special, too, that will be even better! :woohoo: Thanks again.
