Anniversary and Birthday Question?

My wife and I are having our anniversary and my wife is having her birthday while we are at WDW. Is it best to make special arrangements (like cakes or special menus) through the restaurant or do I need to call the ADR number? Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. I am wanting to make my wife's day's special. Thanks

You need to call the cake hotline or the restaurant directly. My DD and I are celebrating both our birthdays this August and so far I have reserved the diver, personal menus and a cake at Coral Reef. I will call The GF bakery direct to order a mini castle cake and CRT for the slipper dessert. I'm not sure how many people use the hotline but I'm sure many do. I agree you will need to call the restaurant directly and take it from there! Have Fun!

the hotline tells you that if you're looking for a 6" cake ($12.50), you don't need to pre-order; just tell the hostess when you arrive for your ressie. (However, the problem with that is that they don't customize the cake.) So the smallest cake you could order is the 8" cake for $25 (held with a credit card) by calling the cake hotline. I just called today to resesrve mine for next week.

Can someone please clarify, what do you mean by special "menu" and does everyone do this and where do you go/call to do this. Both dh and dd will be celebrating birthdays when we are there.

If you call before hand and tell the restaurant that you are going to, they will have a special menu for the birthday person, that will say Happy Birthday...

Just a neat little personalized touch to a special occasion.
