Anna and Elsa Returning to Epcot?

Then I guess there's absolutely no reason for her to even bring up on her website the fact her daughter's a CM and put her in a potentially uncomfortable position.

Why even do it? Since by doing it, it just looks like an attempt to "validate" her insider connections.......

TT covers many things - it is not a Disney only site. Gee, maybe she mentioned on her site that her daughter is a CM because she is proud of her daughter! I don't think I have ever read anything that makes one think that her information comes from her daughter, and since her daughter is well aware of her work and has not problem with it - not sure why complete strangers do. Not sure why anyone feels the need to be so critical of a site. If the work covered on TT bothers you - don't read it.

if you disagree with someone fine but no reason to bring someone's child into something.

I think she is simply saying that if her Disney-employed daughter is the source of her information, then her daughter could be risking her employment by disclosing things before they are officially announced by Disney.

Added Later: I see that I should have continued reading before I chimed in - clsteve already made the same point, and there is already a pleasant discussion taking place between momtortk, bjkbrady, and clsteve. I'm stepping away from this one now.

Because this is the DIS, home of "You're a terrible parent" syndrome.

I LOVE Frozen, I consider it an instant Disney classic, and I'll defend it to the death... but a big thing like this does not belong in World Showcase.

I think a Frozen attraction would be fantastic. But keep in in MK or even the Studios.

There is a lot that you can do to improve Epcot (which is still amazing of course), and this isn't one of them. What have the imagineers been thinking recently? Is it something in the water??

I agree with the PP. Frozen should absolutely have a presence in the Studios and MK. But Frozen is not set in the real country of Norway. It is set in the fictional country of Arandelle.

The only movie I'd like to see get an attraction in World Showcase is Aladdin for Morocco. I know it doesn't really fit, but I just find it ridiculous that WDW doesn't really have any Aladdin attraction (yeah, the spitting camels are cute but come on).

It's without a doubt in the pantheon of most loved Disney films, and it absolutely deserves something. And if they don't have room in MK, put it in Morocco.

We need a Cave of Wonders and a Sultan's Palace!!

Flying carpets?

So I'm rather ambivalent about this, I understand rides change. (although I'm still sad If You Had Wings is gone)

As I said somewhere else, I really, really hope they don't do this during October Food/Wine. The World Showcase will already be crowded and this would make it worse.
And then with the gangs of rowdy drunks that people seem to complain about - ;) - I can see all the families with children waiting to meet Anna and Elsa getting upset by drunk Uncle Bob.

I haven't been on Maelstrom in a few years so I don't know if this idea would work, but...

What about putting Anna & Elsa, the real actual princesses, at the end of the Maelstrom ride? Actually inside the ride, towards the end.

They could update the audio at the beginning of the ride to say something along the lines of "Let's journey through the magical land of Norway on our way to Arendelle." Then, the bulk of the Maelstrom ride can be devoted to Norway and it's culture, sights and people. Disney could update this accordingly. Then, at the end of the ride could be CMs dressed like Anna & Elsa, in coronation attire, waving and greeting the passers-by.

I think this would work because, first off, it would be a different experience than a typical meet & greet...just something new. It could accommodate a lot more people than a meet & greet as well. So, the people who couldn't get a FP+ for the MK meet and greet would still have a chance to see the girls up close. Plus, the CMs playing the girls would just have to look like the princesses and maybe say a few lines. It wouldn't take as much training because they wouldn't have to converse with the guests and have fluid answers for every question that might be thrown at them.

And then, if the Frozen craze ever peters out, Maelstrom could easily be converted back to a Norway only attraction. Just change the audio and take the girls out at the end.

i wish that they would have an A & E M&G in Norway again. For the many children that can't get into the MK M&G this is another needed opportunity. Personally, I wouldn't dream of booking both, but it is important to my granddaughter to see one. We would be willing to do standby for this, but that option may be out.

Personally, I would like another M& G in DHS as well. That would potentially triple the number of little ones that would have the chance to meet their new princesses. Has anyone considered doing a meet and greet of Kristoff (sp) and Olaf? or Kristoff and Anna? or Elsa and Olaf?

If you don't get to see all of them, seeing some Frozen characters would be nice. Boys going with sisters to meet and greets might like seeing Olaf and Kristoff as well.

Rumors are flying that now that Disney has cast and costumed Kristoff for the Frozen Summer stuff, he might be added to PFH for M&Gs during the Halloween/Christmas parties.

I am suspecting that if the rumors are true about Maelstrom being changed to a Frozen ride by this fall it could be just a temporary overlay...........like Nightmare
before Christmas that Smallworld gets in Disneyland.

It's actually The Haunted Mansion that gets the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay, it runs from the Halloween season through the Christmas season.

Space Mountain gets a Halloween overlay, too.

Small World gets a Christmas overlay ~ AND they added characters to Small World at DL a few years ago

:mic: Personally, I'm one of those in the small crowd of Disney fans who just doesn't "get" all the hype over Frozen; it's not a bad flick by any measure, but I think Disney has done better over the last several years.

That said, I can see how a Frozen overlay to parts of the Norway pavilion could work. Yes, the film takes place in Arendale, not Norway, but I think most folks get the idea it's Scandinavian in location, culture, etc.

The Norway Pavilion offers the best opportunity for a successful introduction of Disney's latest Princesses-du-jour into EPCOT. Would you rather see them at Mission Space, or perhaps the Land? :confused3

Look to the Three Cabelleros overlay in Mexico. I know, some might hate it, but I think it provided a fresh look to an old favorite that was getting a bit long in the tooth. And, even adding Nemo and Friends to old Sea Base Alpha seemed to work out; at least we got the clam-shell ride back!

As I said, I'm not a "Frozen-head," but I think the addition of another meet & greet and a well-handled overlay on the Maelstrom has the potential to make me want to visit the pavilion again.
:mic: <soap-box mode: off>

Was Maelstrom removed from the FP+ booking recently, or was it never there? My first day at Epcot is Sept 29, and it isn't listed anywhere for selection that day.

I like this. :scratchin

You should work for a themepark!
