My BIL was able to grab only ONE FP for the Anna and Elsa Meet and greet for his 5 yo daughter. He was able to get the FP attached to HIS Magic Band because he couldn't get a FP for a minor without an adult and only ONE FP was available. Can my niece still get into the meet and greet on her dad's band? can both her parents go with her and the grandparents too or only her father? Or will they be turned away altogether with only one FP?

A child under age 7 will not be able to enter the attraction unless they are accompanied by someone age 14 or over, and the accompanying person must also have a fastpass. Wont matter which band the kid uses, because they won't let the child in by herself and the adults can't enter if they don't have a fastpass.

I didn't mean to imply that my BIL would send a 5 yo in by herself. I was wondering if the one FP would be enough for him to escort her in. Obviously, HE doesn't care about meeting Anna and Elsa but would need to take her in.

No, they won't let him take her in unless he also has a fastpass. They certainly won't let the entire family in on one fastpass, even though the family tries to explain that only the child will be participating. That isn't how it works.

I did see something posted here where someone somewhere said you can ask a CM for the "lead" and get permission for one adult to go in with a child but I don't remember where I saw that or whether it would always be applicable in all cases where only the child has a fastpass. Anyway in this case the child doesn't have a fastpass...her father does.

He would still need a fastpass to escort her in.

I think you had two options 1) let the child use the father's band and then have the father accompany her in or 2) have the father use the band and then ask if he can also bring in the child.

Pretty sure neither will work. Although if they have the wherewithal they can find a CM and say can anything be done because the kid reaaaally realllly wants to meet Anna and Elsa. No guarantees they will say anything other then "well, there is the standby line."

Because she's more than 2 years old, the requirement is that she have a fastpass to enter the fastpass line.

unfortunately with only one fast pass only your BIL can go in. Your niece will not be able to accompany him since she's 5 and neither would other family members.

Has your BIL tried to obtain another single FP+ for another adult in their party? They may be able to get one with an overlapping time allowing 1 adult and 1 child to enter together.

Yes, there was literally just this one FP left for the entire day. We will continue to keep checking. This is for Thanksgiving week. Was hoping they'd open more times like they did for the Mine Train due to MK opening an hour earlier.

When are they going? We check in Dec 9. At midnight on our 60 day window only my husband was able to get a fastpass. I checked every single day (took two seconds on the app) for a week or so and got a group of 7 to have overlapping times (I did all the members who wanted to meet the princesses first then added the grandparents who will want to see the reactions). Unless you are going at Christmas or something it could be possible. Just check all the time!

Persistence paid off! BIL secured a second single FP for the same time slot for his wife. FP+ would not allow a single reservation to be made for a 5 yo so the two FPs are in my BIL's and SIL's names. It won't be a problem for one parent to take her and my niece to wear one of her parents' MB, will it?

I don't think there will be an issue if an adult accompanies the child inside. THey are just trying to make sure that guests won't try to send small kids in by themselves.

That will not be a problem. They'll let 2 people in. And if they get a CM that is feeling full of pixie dust that day (2 since you have a 2nd check point inside) they may all 3 get to go in. I'd at least ask.

Here this week. I have seen CMs endlessly adding fast passes to folks who go up and only one person has a fast pass while others don't, or everyone except one does. It looks to pretty much be a unwritten rule at this point that a CM will take care of it and add the fast pass for you if someone is missing it. Obviously if people abuse it this may change but it makes sense with folks being so new to magic bands/MDE that they are going to give everyone leeway when mistakes happen and you don't add everyone in your party.

They do this?

They do this?

They CAN do this. It is extremely risky to count on it. But yes, the CM working at the entrance does have the option of allowing those without FP to enter. We used the app to change a FP on our trip in Aug and at that time the app would change your FP but not alert you to a change in the time for the FP when it did it. So we switched our FP, thinking it kept the same time as the original FP and when we got to the attraction the CM said you are several hours early. I told him what happened and he said no problem and let us go in.
