I agree with you re Animal Kingdom - I love it ( except for the Chester & Hester Dinorama area ) but I know there are those who aren't so keen on this park but perhaps we could persuade them .....?

I really don't want to offend anyone here, but I just don't get it with Animal Kingdom - it's a big zoo with a few rides - woohoo...

Am I missing something ??

I had no intention of going, but a friend who has a timeshare at Orange Lake CC told me it was good and I should give it a try. So, I duly went, and I really wished I hadn't wasted the day of my holiday.

The animals were nice to see, (Dont get me wrong, I like animals, I go to Busch Gardens every time I'm in Florida - those gorilla's are an awesome sight, even if I'm not sure it's right that they are in captivity) but nothing I couldn't/hadn't seen at Windsor, Whipsnade, name a zoo/safari park...

The rides were, erm, decidedly average, to the point that I can't even remember their names. The one where you go off on the safari bus then get "swept" off down the river, well that broke down while we were on it - cue 45 minutes of sitting on a bus stuck on a raft that wont move, and listening to a very cool-headed cast member desperately trying to keep a bus load of unimpressed, somewhat jaded (we did the ride late in the day) tourists interested. He did a pretty good job too, a good SOH for a southern boy...

Mind you, it was quite amusing to see the other cast members who had to come along with great long poles to help shift the raft from it's mooring - State of the art stuff...

I know things breakdown, it's absolutely no-one's fault, (I just seem to be jinxed, I once spent an hour stuck on Kong at USF) it just seemed typical of the day as a whole - time wasted that could have been better spent doing something much more interesting !

Still I guess it's good in one way - I now know I dont need to weigh out the extra cash for 5 day PHPlus tickets for the 4 of us on our next trip so we can go to AK. As Typhoon Lagoon looks like it will be closed for refurbishment when we are there, I can go for the 4 day PHPlus with one extra.

Savings, cool, we like that !

Beejay, did you see the Lion King Show? Tarzan Rocks, the Flights of Wonder? It's Tough to be Bug? Those are some of the best shows at WDW.
