Hi there..looking for the DON"T MISS Shows/Rides at AK. We have only been there once for about 1/2 day when my oldest son was 3...it was tooo hot.

Anyway going back and will do a least a full day at AK. I have 2 boys now, ages 8 and 3 1/2....what should we plan on?

My youngest wants to see the Tarzan, Pochontas and Lion King shows definately.

The 8yr. old wants to do Safari, Tough to be a bug and River Rapids...Thanks

Sounds like you have most of them covered! You might want to add DinoLand if you have time. There are 2 major rides: Primeval Whirl, Triceratops spin (good for young kids) and Dinosaur (which may be too intense for youngsters) Definitely let them play in the Dig Site!

We love the bird show (don't know what it's called). Very interesting and entertaining for kids. Definately see Lion King, lots of kid interaction. I also agree with Dinoland; kind of cheesy, but lots of fun.

Hey whe went to Disney World in 2001 then again in 2002 Hey where going again this year.We always go to MK,AK,EPCOT,MGM, Whe go to Magic Kingdom at least twice. We love disney so much we are going ten days this year, also getting season passes. To answer your ? You have to go on the K safari's,Tarzan is great for kids age 5-10.Not for kids 11 and up.Lion king is the best show there.Ride the River Rapids,You have to ride Dinosaur.Ride the tricertops spin, and go through Harambe. Hi there.. sounds like you have the right ideas already - but I just wanted to mention what my daughter LOVED and that was the area where the kids could pet and brush the little goats and sheep... my DD was in her glory chasing these poor little critters around with a brush :D

I got a cold drink and had a half hour rest in the shade, They also had demonstrations with snakes and other animals.

Have fun on your trip

>>^..^<<

Yes, those silly goats! :D My kids (DS9 and DD6 then) loved brushing those goats too--and they mentioned it as one of the highlights of the trip, go figure--LOL!! This was in the Rafiki Planet Watch area, which we almost didn't do, but had some time to kill while waiting for our Safari fastpass time.

Those rides and shows you mentioned are at the top of my list as well. My 9 yo loved the animals throughout AK. He would stop and tell us something about a particular animal and we thought that he was reading from a placard. As it turned out he remembered quite a lot of the info from school and books he had taken out from the school's library. We make sure we take our time to explore all the different animal exhibits.

The Bird Show = Flights of Wonder - it is great

The petting/brushing area = Rafiki's Planet Watch - nice train ride there as well - does take some time especially if you miss the train (up to 11 minute wait)

Primeval Whirl = minimum height 48" so unless your 3 1/2 is really really tall....

Maharajah Jungle Trek is fun as well with the animals and temple themes

Harambe has great street entertainment and you have to see Devine and Wes Palm characters

Can you tell I love AK????

Thanks

Another in agreement with your kids. The youngest will enjoy Pocahontas moreso than your 9yo, and your 9yo will like Tarzan more than the 3yo.

Don't forget to visit the Boneyard in Dinoland. The little ones can uncover a wooly mammoth and in the play in the maze.

Primeval Whirl = Hurl = Ralph if you're prone to motion sickness. :earseek:  :earseek: It spins going around corners. :p Just thought you'd want to know. The only thing that bothers me on a ride is spinning. I'll ride the scariest rides in the world, but PW and The Teacups are out for me. ;)

Cheers
