really how long do you stay ? My sister and I love animals a lot we can spend all day at the zoo.

we are flying in around 8 am and taking me to our hotel, and either checking in or leaving our bags there and then getting on the bus to ak. so i figured we will get there around 10am or 11am

plus that parks has emh that night.

what are your thoughts about that ?

I think you'll have a blast. My opinion of AK has increased greatly in recent years. It's not a stretch any more to say it's a full day park.

We can get that park done in 3-4 hours...so you'll be fine!

It's really a park that can last as long as you want it. If you rush through, it's a half day. If you really take your time, and take in all it has to offer, besides the big attractions, it can be much more! I'm sure you'll love it!

I also love zoos, and I have no problem spending a full day at AK. I don't see any reason why you won't be entertained from 11 to closing. Between the animal exhibits (don't miss Rafiki's Planet Watch!), the rides (have to ride the safari at least twice), and the shows (Lion King and Finding Nemo are two of the best in all the parks), it's easily a full day for me.

We spend a lot of time at AK, usually at least 3-4 times during our stay. Just love the atmosphere, and all the rides and shows.

Thanks everyone.... when we were in sea world it was an open to almost closed thing for my husband and I .

I love to catch all the shows, and just stop and watch all the animals...

i'd guess if you love animals, you could make a day of it...

for DH and me, AK lasts as long as it takes to do EE and Dino - then off to the bus stop we go!

(but that's just us - we don't care for zoos, either)

It's "NAT-AH-ZU"

LOL!

We get there early say 9:00am, get fast pass for The Safari, head to lino king show, meet some charecters there....ride safari.....standbye for bugs life, get fast pass for everest if we can......do dinasour.....maybe everest....we are out by noon.

If you love animals you could easily make at least one whole day of it. Here are some things that have taken my time:
Once a CM was feeding the cranes and she showed me how they're taught to go to their assigned spot to get fed, answered lots of questions about their beginnings at AK, food, etc.
Once I watched a CM distract and feed gorillas at closing time. He said that only one gorilla can go in at a time, or else they act like macho teenaged boys getting too close to each other and start squabling. I don't know if the story he was telling me was true, but it sure was interesting!
Once, I got to the aviary at Pangini Forest Trail just as they were feeding the birds. Some kids got to take turns throwing food up for the birds, and we watched all the birds swoop around, much more so than usual since they were being fed.
There's lots of things at AK to make it a full day park.

i'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we usually get there around 10am and leave by 3 or 4. Kinda a quick day but we seem to get a lot done.

It takes about half a day to ride the rides and see Lion King/Nemo. If you want to do it all, (ie. rides , shows AND explore the trails, go on the Maharajah Jungle Trek, ride the train out to Conservation Station and the Petting Zoo) you'll need at least 3/4 of a day.

Animal Kingdom was a blast. We just got back from a 10 day trip and spent 3/4 of one day there, rope drop to about 3:30, and then spent another 5 hours there on another day. :thumbsup2

we will only be there for 2 days or ( 1 full day) should we buy park hopper since we wont be at ak till 9 or so (im not sure when the other parks close)

I like to spend at least an entire day there. I love the Lion King, the bird show, safari, the exploration trails. In short, I love almost everything there. If we rush we could make it out right before the afternoon parade at 4, so 3/4 of a day. But it is the kind of park you have to relax in and savor. There is something interesting everywhere and rushing through is a waste IMO.

I'm a huge animal lover so I could never spend just half a day there. Just doing all of the major attractions like Kilimanjaro, Kali River Rapids, EE, Dinosaur, it's tough to be a bug, Lion King and the Nemo show already take more than half a day. But I also like to spend time at the Oasis, the trails in Africa and Asia, Rafiki's Planet Watch, watching the monkey's in Asia, etc. There's no way I could do that all in half a day. I usually don't spend full days at parks though, I split it into a couple of half days.

I can spend a full day here as well. I really like this park. I usually go when the hours are 9-5. I have been quite a few times and have yet to see the parade. I love Conservation Station. I love that they have animals in and do exams. The vets talk you through the procedures that they are doing. They are extremely knowleable about exotic animals. I find it very fascinating. I also love the rides and attractions and the shopping.

Our last two trips to WDW, we have spent the first day both times at AK and spent the entire day there. There is alot to look at and if it is packed, certainly lines will add to the time you spend there as well. Utilize FP to the best you can.

I'd say all day in the park is certainly not out of the question.

Well, as DH and I could spend an entire week just walking around AK looking for more hidden bird exhibits (there are five or so macaw enclosures just around the Tree of Life), I'm probably not the best person to advise, but I think a whole day and then some. I love that park.
