We have booked 3 nights at AKL Dec 12th - 15th. John will be 6 and I was wondering what activities there are onsite for kids, (and adults) after the parks close.

I am sure there is story telling around the camp fire and night vision on the savannahs. Oh and swimming in the wonderful pool

Winter-Summerland mini golf is quite close to AKL

There is loads to do at AKL for kids, when you get there they will give you an imformation sheet.
My kids did activities every day where they were given a bead/charm to make a bracelet.

they made little animals out of wood and decorated them
Animal tracking (not tracking real animals)
storey telling
Kids parade from the shop

We love this hotel, We stayed 14 nights and was sad some days to leave the hotel to go to the parks

There is a board in the lobby with all the activities posted. The night vision animal viewings were great, a keeper will answer any questions and help you spot as many animals as possible, also the storyteller by the firepit at night. There were also art and craft and cooking activities for kids and there are plenty of hidden Mickeys to spot around the resort if they are interested in those.
Make time to enjoy the fantastic pool too.

If mum & dad need a grown-up evening, there is a nice child care area at the AKL, called Simba's Clubhouse.
