Hi everyone! We have a trip to Animal Kingdom Lodge coming up in early January. We'd like to eat dinner at the hotel one night, but my daughter has a nut (peanut and tree nut) allergy. Does anyone have any recommendations for which restaurant at AKL might be most allergy friendly? Looks like the dinner options are Jiko, Boma, and Sanaa. Thank you so much!!

Honestly, all Disney hotels and restaurant are great with allergies. I travel with a friend with multiple allergies and they are so accommodating and helpful. I think all would be fine, we are at saana and had a great experience but his allergy is not nuts.

Disney is so good with food allergies at TS restaurants. We always note it when making an ADR and usually at check in the host confirms there is an allergy noted and it is stamped in red on a slip taken to the table so the sever sees it and asks about all of the allergies and usually a chef has to come out. We love Boma which is a buffet. We have a dinner there every trip on our AK day. The chef will walk with them around the buffet showing them what they can have and then usually has to make some items in the back.

Disney is great with having an allergy chief and cooking in an allergy kitchen. HOWEVER, I would do some research into BOMA (I think) before going there.

They used to heat peanuts in an open kitchen. My stepson, is also allergic to heated peanuts, just being in the air and cannot even be in the restaurant with out having a reaction.

Our DD14 has peanut treenut sesame sunflower seed allergies (60-80 range but not to airborne particles). She reacts only when ingested or touched. She has eaten at Boma many times.

I would definitely look at Steakhouse71 as their cake is made in-house and without any cross contamination (chef assured us after our DD reacted to a special order cake the day prior). They also carry Tofutti ice cream (our son has dairy allergies).

I would submit an allergy form if you need more accommodations

I have family members who can't eat gluten and dairy. I am always so impressed with all the Disney restaurants and how wonderful they are for food allergies. Very often, the chef will come out and talk to you. Disney is really wonderful when it comes to food allergies for sure!
