Animal Kingdom lodge Club Concierge-level

Does anyone know if the Club Concierge-level rooms have a Savannah View? This would be my first time at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and I want to make sure I book it right. Also is it worth booking a Concierge level room or should I just book a Savannah view room? Can't wait for your feedback.

They do not gurantee a Savannah view. For this reason I have never paid for the Concerige level. I am NOT paying that much money for a view of the pool!

There is a 1000.00 difference for a weeks stay at off peek for a Savannah view as opposeed to a standard view! Seeing as that you are in your room 1 to 3 hours..well! If you want a great view go down to large veranda early in the morning, grab a hot chocolate for the kids and coffee for you and watch the animals..it is great.

This question is something you might ask about on the AKL thread. My current understanding is that in 2008 all concierge are savanna views. I don't know what the policy is now.

Although they do not guarantee savannah view, I have stayed at AKL three times on the the concierge level and always gotten a savannah view. I think the number of non-savannah view rooms was pretty limited, but if, as another poster said, all concierge rooms in 2008 are savannah views, that would solve the problem.

Guilty of that We have 1 night in a Savanna view, just in case we do not get one in concierge. Like you said though, the Sunrise Safari is for DD10's birthday

There is a difference between paying cash at AKL and points at AKV when it comes to concierge. I've stayed as a cash customer before and savanna view IS guaranteed. That is not the case with the vacation club concierge rooms.

These statements are not currently true. All Club level rooms are now Savannah views. There used to be pool view rooms, but those were given up several months ago.

We stayed club a few weeks ago. It was wonderful!

Now all CL rooms are Savannah view and in my opinion have the best views. The pool rooms were the smoking rooms and they have been converted to DVC units. It is definately worth booking CL if cost is not an issue. This is the only way you can book the sunrise safari. The safari was outstanding and worth every penny of staying CL. It was an hour long intense safari and came with an amazing buffett style breakfast. It was the highlight of our trip. The IPO staff and lounge at AKL are the best on property from what I was told and our family had the best trip to Disney that we have had in over 20 visits.

I am staying there on points, just for the Safari, but probably just once without a guranteed view! This is the ONLY resort that I feel the view is a MUST!

I asked when booking my trip, and again via email to IPO, if all CL rooms were guaranteed savannah view -- I was assured that they are.

Only ALL CL rooms booked at AKL.....not AKV....are guaranteed SV....the Villas afre either a pool view or SV if you are Lucky When Kidani Village (new constuction at AKL...DVC part) there will be no concierge there...only in Jambo House. As CarolA stated...this is a resort where the view is a must

All the Lodge Concierge rooms (not the DVC ones!) now have savannah view.

It USED to be, when the concierge rooms were on the 5th and 6th floor (now those rooms are being converted to DVC), there was no guarentee.

When Concierge moved to the 4th floor, there was a handful on smoking concierge rooms that were pool view.

NOW, since the DVC conversion AND the change in the smoking policy, ALL AKL (NOT AKV) concierge rooms are Savannah View. You can confirm with IPO if it makes you feel more comfortable, but I'm sure many other posters will confirm it, too.

Prior to the change in smoking policy (the very last change that effected them) that was true. Do you remember when you last checked on this?

Club level rooms in the LODGE are guaranteed savanna view. I stay there once each year and never would have booked concierge without a guaranteed view.

That said, I did book the VILLAS as concierge for next April but was willing to take the chance that I won't get savanna view ONLY because I'll be at AKV the month before in guaranteed savanna view. I figure it won't kill me if 4 weeks later when we're back again that I don't get the view.
