Animal Kingdom Lodge Check-In Questions

We are going to AK lodge this Thursday and I went to do my check-in on MDE and for room requests it gave the choices of "near the lobby" or Upper floor. How would I go about requesting that our two standard rooms are connecting/or next to each other and for a partial savanna view? I had read on past reviews that people had requested partial views when having a standard room, and were able to get great views of the animals from their room.

Also, about how long is the bus ride from the airport to the lodge? We have dinner reservations and my husband was considering taking an Uber so that we could get to the resort sooner. Thanks!

Did you already call and add a request for connecting rooms with a partial view on your reservation ? You can leave the online room requests blank if you want.

Disney is approx 30 min from the airport. If you are using ME there will be other stops at other resorts in all likelihood
You need to call in those requests

May i ask what your window is between your arrival and your dinner ADR?

from my experience, AKL is the LAST stop. It has been the last 4 years and 7 trips. (AKL is our "home" away from home). On the way back to the airport AKL was first and then we picked up at the value resorts. I would think that Disney would want to drop off at the Deluxe Hotels first so that they could entice the people who are not staying there to go and visit and hopefully book there in the future.

FWIW, i would allow one hour from airport to AKL. That said, you will still check in and freshen up in your room. So maybe make your reservation for 2 hours AFTER your flight lands.

Personally, I'm thinking even 2 hours seems to be cutting it very close. I wouldn't book it that close. Even a small flight delay could push the limits.

And I agree that you need to call in those requests ASAP if you haven't already. Yesterday was Tuesday and you are talking about making requests 2 days before you get there. Rooms are assigned I believe more like 5 days in advance (I think that's the right number) so you could possibly be too late, depending on what is still available.

You'd think, but actually the route DME whatever makes most sense logistically.
