We are headed to AK on our first full day in DW. We have our "usual" adr at Tusker at 9:20 then planned in spending a few hours at the park. We typically take breaks and park hop to a second park around dinner However, I want to try Boma this year. So, I booked an dinner ADR on a different night and figured we can make AK our 2nd park that day then take bus to AKL.
My DH think we should just stay all day on first day there and made ADR for BOMa on first night around 5-6. Transportation from Poly to this area isn't that easy so this would be a time saver to knock out a whole day and not go back again. My concern is that I don't want us to be too hot and exhausted to enjoy our dinner!
Any input we be great!!

I agree with your DH, taking the bus from AK to AKL will be much quicker, less time wasted. But the evenings at AKL are usually when we can ride things multiple times because most people leave that park early. Have you thought of eating at a CS restaurant ever?

When are you going? I'm not sure I could do a full day at AK without a break in the heat of summer. But if it's at a different time of year, when it's not 115 (lol), then yeah, I'd probably stay all day.

We do eat at CS restaurants all the time and usually hit flame tree while in AK for lunch. However, we love Tusker and want to try Boma so I was trying to revolve plans around those experiences.

Going the end of this month so it will be around 90!

I'm with you about not wanting to get too hot. But, I'll also qualify that with the fact I am a firm believer in hopping. I think all Disney parks/experiences are best done a few hours at a time versus spending a whole day in one location.

We take a break from the heat by going to Festival of Lion King or Nemo shows. Or have a snack in one of the CS restaurants. I've never eaten at Boma, but smelled it while staying at AKL. Smells DELICIOUS!

Boma is awesome - I know you will enjoy it. WE call Tusker House Boma Lite. I agree that it makes sense to visit Boma while it is so convenient. If your ADR is not super early, you should be able to stay at AK until close, and not miss anything. Since you say you normally hop to a different park for dinner, this dinner is at a resort - so you are basically hopping, just not to another park.

My issue would be you had a large breakfast at Tusker, and you follow with a large dinner. If you guys can eat that much, then I like the revised plan (even though we are avid hoppers normally also) The only reason I would alter those plans is if the weather bumps you - either raining or too hot. Those conditions make AK not so much fun.

Yes- we do normally park hop, but with a break/nap in between the two parks. This would be a longer day than we'd normally spend at any given park at one time. That being said it would buy us a lot of time if we didn't go back on a different afternoon/evening.
