Animal Kingdom ain't so good.

 How could you not love Expedition Everest?? It's my favortie ride out of all the parks. I guess totally awesome thrill rides aren't for everyone? :rotfl: The Tree of Life's carvings are pretty cool if you really get a chance to look at them good. Yak & Yeti also has mango pie that is TO DIE FOR :worship:.

Our family loves AK, and it always seems to be the least crowded park when we go (love it). I keep seeing these AK hating threads pop up, but you never really see them for the other parks. I wish more people felt this way about HS. That is my favorite park. It was so crowded the last time we were there.

All of the parks are awesome and have something for everyone.

I'll be happy if less people go or don't like it. That means less wait times for me in my favorite park :cool1::woohoo:

I can see how you feel this way AK. For me Ak is really great I love the park more than the rides just wandering about posting up in a shady spot and enjoying the crowds passing by. Dinosaur is such a fun ride too! I actually prefer Animal Kingdom from most stand points over Epcot. But that is just one opinion. Epcot needs an update to make it timeless and not so 80's. So I can understand having our own preferences and when I fist went to AK I couldn't stand it really I felt the same way but when I sat down and took it all in I think I absorbed the vibe Rhoad and crew were going for.

LOVE

Kyle

I love Animal Kingdom too!! But I don't really dislike anything.

This past Christmas we went around Camp Minnie Mickey and each character has their own Christmas tree and all of the character gazebos are decorated so cute and Christmas-y. Definitely check that out during the Holidays. I was amazed at how cute it was!! I like Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Magic Kingdom all the same. Hollywood Studios is my least favorite but I still like it.

I haven't read all 6 pages, I'm packing to go home for Easter. All I have to say is that AK is seriously one of the most overlooked treasures of Disney. I could spend a week straight there and still not be tired of it.

FOTLK, Finding Nemo, Conservation Station, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Kali River, Pangani forest, Maharajah trail, Expedition Everest, Dinosaur, Flights of Wonder....

And walking all of the trails, enjoying the amazing theming, and just immersing myself in the park.

Last trip, I took over 800 photos at AK alone.

If you don't like animals, nature, and/or different cultures then you obviously won't like AK.

I personally don't care for Hollywood so I think DHS "ain't so good" ;)

I'm also from California home of the original "Magic Kingdom" so I also think MK "ain't so good" and barely spend half a day there  ...but do I go making new threads about it?

I just don't get it :confused3
Do people really feel the need to press their opinions onto others and/or gain praise from people who agree with them ...on something so irrelevant? :confused3

OMG we love AK. I think because of all the trees and the feel of the [ark. I don't feel like I'm in an amusement park. And we love... I mean LOVE EE.:banana::banana:

My son and I rode it 3 times in the front last year.

To each his own - for us we can usually take or leave Epcot ...

Good! The more ppl who think it sucks the less ppl I have to deal with when I go to my favorite park:rotfl:

We love AK! The theming is amazing, the rides are fun, and I love Tusker House for breakfast. Different strokes for different folks :goodvibes

Yeah same here, great themeing, lots to see and do, Tusker House Breakfast is fun. We dig it, great park just like all the others! :thumbsup2

I've read a lot of this since joining the boards (AK is a sucky park), and it makes me even more excited for Animal Kingdom:goodvibes

I'm excited for Everest, to find out just how scary Dinosaur really is, to hopefully see Divine...I could go on and on!

I LOVED DINOSAUR!! It was awesome .. my kiddos (4 and 5 oops) not so much! .. We didnt get to do a tone of things at AK, but we will be hitting it when we go back and exploring it more throughly.

I absolutely adore Animal Kingdom. The first time we went was before EE, but even then, and I fell in love with it. It was raining that first time on a mid-October day. The natural environment, the animals, and even the earthy scent that came from the rainsoaked earth and the flora and fauna around us completely captivated me. It was so different from any park I had ever encountered, and nothing like a zoo by any means. Nothing can compare to KS - we've experienced rhinos on the trail that caused the driver to stop and calmly wait for them to move. I guess that either you love it or you don't get it, but it's definitely worth your time to give it a full day and really explore all the different rides, shows, and walks that you can find to do there.:thumbsup2

AK is our favorite park. We just like the feel of it. It's a slower pace and we just seem to have a really good time there. I could ride Kali all day, and we usually ride it several times (while the ex would stand on the bridge and try to squirt us.) The kids love KS and looking at all the animals. The only thing I don't like about AK is Dinosaur. Being west coasters, we LOVE Indiana Jones at DL, but Dinosaur just doesn't compare. :(

We kind of feel the same way you do about HS. We hit it early, ride ToT and RR and then grab a bite at Starring Rolls and we are pretty much done there. To each his own.

All I have to say is,

Festival of the Lion King
expedition Everest
Dinosaur
Kilimanjaro Safari
Flights of wonder
Tough to be a Bug
Kali river rapids
Flame Tree BBQ
Yak & Yeti Quick service
Tusker House!
Finding Nemo the musical
DeVine
Conservation station
Camp Minnie mickey
The Tree of Life
...
Animal Kingdom: Duhh, Winning!

I love AK and not just for the "rides" and shows. I enjoy the different walking trails, watching the tigers, the gorillas and seeing the hippos swimming underwater. It never has been a whole day park for our family, but I think if the weather wasn't always so hot when we are there, it could be for me.

I don't understand why this is such a recurring topic. We also love Animal Kingdom and I hope that all of you who don't, go some where else. We always go at spring break, so since so many people don't like AK maybe it will keep the crowds down at Ak. We spend two full days there, more time than we spend at MK. At MK, we get there at rope drop, follow our plan and get out when it gets too crowded. At Ak, we take our time and enjoy the park, including Dinoland.

Why does this topic come up so much? I'm only OK with AK but I still don't see why so many others dislike it so much. I think that it's needs more air conditioned areas and more places to eat and it would be better.

Even with our relative indifference to it we still like the safari, the trails, Dinosaur and of course there's Expedition Everest. It's Tough to be a Bug is cute and I still have to see the bird show.

But hey to each their own of course. I see many criticizing DHS and I like it better. Except again, the food...

In Febuary I went to WDW for my first time with a friend who was doing the marathon. I only had 2 full park days and wanted to see all 4 parks, super commando style:scared1:
anyway.... The order I did it was: first day, DHS until noonish then AK rest of the day. Second day I did Epcot and MK. I was prepared to hate AK because so many peeps on here dislike it and I hate zoos and I had the impression it would be like that. WELL....of all 4 parks I actually thought it was the most well done and interesting! I loved it at AK. It's not the animals nor the rides but rather it was so incredibly immersive in the theme. It's hard to explain. It seemed to be the most detailed and "in a whole other world" feeling to me, like I really was in Africa or Asia. Plus it was so huge. I gotta say I was super impressed. Now, I saved MK for last because that is the one most people flip over and I thought I was "saving the best for last so to speak". Well....I was the LEAST impressed at MK! Weird I know. To me, it seemed a little dated and soooooo small. I didn't expect it to be so small. Never felt lost once while at MK which was strange since it was my first ever visit. I also took a mental note that when I brought hub and kids for their first visit I would do the MK at night (maybe it would be more magical at night?) I just didn't feel as whisked away and in another world at MK near as much as I did at AK.
But...who cares? nobody is right or wrong. Just opinions:) Glad that everybody doesn't have the same fav park!

I've read a lot of this since joining the boards (AK is a sucky park), and it makes me even more excited for Animal Kingdom:goodvibes

AK is the only park I've never been to in the World and I am soooo excited to experience it for the first time with my family (DHS and AK are new to my DH and all parks are new to the kiddos!).

Recently my DH told me his fave thing at the zoo when he was a little kid was the birdhouse (I never would have pegged him as a bird man - LOL). With that info, I can't wait to catch the Flights of Wonder show with him!!!

I'm excited for Everest, to find out just how scary Dinosaur really is, to hopefully see Divine...I could go on and on!

Make sure you do not miss the Flights of Wonder Show. My wife is scared of birds so we skipped this numerous years/trips and then one day she agreed to watch it for me. It is now one of the shows she says she is looking forward to. It is a funny show!

We are not fans of AK either. DH and I went before it opened to the public and it was pretty cool then, but they eliminated some things.

We have been through every inch of the park and every attraction. We appreciate animals, but it is simply not a park we really enjoy.

If it were not for the honey chicken at Yak n Yeti we would skip it. So while we are there for the honey chicken, we visit the VERY few attractions we enjoy.

1. Safari-though this has gone downhill in recent years. Trying to cram too many people through so that you are constantly stopping and in view of several trucks at one time. I liked it better before they changed it anyway.

2. Nemo-awesome show

3. FOTLK-my boys love the acrobatics

If we have extra time in our half day, we will do ITTBAB, EE, and Kali. Everest is one of the biggest disappointments in a rollercoaster. And Kali is just not good-line too long, ride too short.
