I think I seen where you can feed some animals at seaworld. Can you give me more info on this. Is it a special tour? How much does it cost? Which animals can you feed? I will taking my family in Oct and can use all the info you guys can give me. Thanks

Feed the dolphins is $7 pp and can be done throughout the day although first thing in the morning is best. You can also pay to feed the Sting Rays, Sharks, and Sealions. When you feed the Sting Rays you can also pet them. No special tours involved.

Feeding the dolphins is done at set times throughout the day, its $7 each and you get to spend a few minutes feeding a petting the dolphin.

You can also feed the sealions and seals, and this goes on all day, no set times. Can't remember the price for this, think its about $4 a tray. You cant pet them, but you can throw the fish to them (but watch out for the birds).

You can also pet/feed the stingrays and feed the sharks, but Ive personally never done either so don't know much about it.
No special tours are required for any of these :)

Hope this helps :)

The stingrays were $4 a tray but we split one. I've heard you can't do that with the dolphins but I don't know for sure. There was a deal to do stringrays, sealions, and one other (I can't remember) for $10. This was in May.

As far as I know ,that deal is not currently in use. I believe Seals/Sealions, Sharks, and Stingrays area all 5 bucks per tray.

Dolphin cove, its 7 dollars a tray, and in order to enter, each person is required to purchase at least one tray each.

the way it seems to work is at each feeding are they will begin selling food with so much to sell over so much time. When that food is gone, feeding is suspended until the next time/amount period is reached and they will post the time they plan to re-open.

On a slow day it will appear that the feeding is continuous because not even the first quota is reached while on a busy day the window can open and reclose fairly quickly. And, of course, some of the critters are more popular for feeding than are some others. SO - be flexible and check the up to date event schedule as soon as you get inside.

Does anyone know if there is an age limit on feeding the dolphins? Can I take my 2 year old DD to feed them? If so, would we each need to purchase a tray, or would she be free if I'm holding her? :)

Not 100% sure but I think each person has to have a tray to enter. But with your daughter only being 2 maybe not. When we were there in May of 2008 this was not the case, each of my daughters got a tray but my husband and I did not and we were allowed to be there. We are going again soon but not sure if my girls want to do it again, they were pretty grossed out by the dead fish and the birds literally were swooping down and taking the fish right out of their hands!

Thanks!! :goodvibes I'm not sure if we'll do this with her being so young or not, but it looks really cool to me! LOL Our other daughter will be only 8 months on our trip, so I definitely don't want to buy her a tray.

Well whatever you decide I'm sure you'll have a great time, Seaworld is such a beautiful place!:thumbsup2

Feeding the dolphins was the highlight of our trip! We loved it!!!!
