hey guys!
I love animal Xing!!

haha.

I have WW and Lets go to the city.
JUst posting to say hi :)

So someone on one of the Animal Crossing (non Dis) boards said that if you leave your turnips on a table they won't rot. FYI - not true:confused3
I tried it with 4 bundles, all rotted this morning... so I took 3 to recycling and it was full and I dumped the other outside city hall. When I went back, there were ants!! The first ants in the museum today. So it was live and learn day today. I bought my turnips for this week. hopefully this week I'll make more of a profit than last week!!

Greg's playing - maybe I'll get another turn later - but, I do want to watch the Super Bowl, oh, I'm sorry, I meant The Big Game :happytv:

Is there any kind of activity going on for Groundhog Day?

I thought I read somewhere that everyone meets at the wishing well to see if the critter sees his shadow then gets a gift from the mayor. Is this true and where is the wishing well?

I believe you still get a present from Mayor Tortimer either way. It is a statue of Restti. The mole that gets mad at you if you don't save your game.

I guess I will see tomorrow and see what happens.

I love days where you great new gifts.

Does anyone know how to lay pathways, do you get it as a town improvement? I want to get my grass growing so was hoping to be able to lay a path.

Can't seem to find anything when I search :confused3

TIA.

Hey guys - 2 ways. You get good path designs from Wendell the Walrus when you feed him fish. The different types give you different path pieces. 1 per day. You can't keep going back, I don't think. Don't know if disguises work, like wiith Jingle.

Otherwise - you could actually come visit us when we have the gate open. We have a number of path patterns that Ian designed. They are pretty awesome. We've given them to a number of DISers.

Ian's (Conolan and YellowMickeyPonchos husband) path designs are awesome. Once you have them in your design pocket. (it is the "button" to the right of your pocket button. Click on your patten and it will give you options. Something like wear, place on ground, edit. Click on place on ground and where you are standing is where the design path will be laid. Walk a little, in which ever direction, and then repeat process.

You can also create your own path design by going to Able Sister's shop and creating a pro design. It is like you are creating a new shirt. Then make sure that design is in your design pocket.

BEWARE: If you ever overwrite that design with a new design, the new design will be all over your town. So if you have a grey stone path design and overwrite that with a blue check design, where ever there is a grey stone design will now be a blue check design.

Many of us have discovered that by accident. :rotfl:

I decided to try the theory out and went to someones town on a saturday while I was in sunday. I took turnips and sold them to their Nook and there was no problem. No rotting turnips at all. I am also about 1 million richer as well :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I am a very happy person.

I was able to go back to last Sunday, buy turnips, and sell them last Wednesday (when I had decent prices) I think you are ok to buy backwards and work within the upcoming week.

I spent about 4 hours this weekend (I forgot about opening the gate - sorry) getting my orchards going (thanks again Nancy). To make matters worse, I got AC WW and a new DS lite. I commute by train so I have some free time to-and-from work. I do not like how the DS only supports WEP and we have WPA at home. So I can't do the cool stuff with it. I guess I have to wait for the coconut to wash ashore for foreign fruit.

We got around the problem by making extra player characters to hold the patterns in their inventories. They are our "landscape contractors", and come out to repair gaps caused by accidentally picking up pattern squares off of the ground. If you don't have any extra character slots open due to other family members playing, maybe they don't do anything with the designs and won't mind holding the path designs.

Wendell gave me a path pattern that was set on a "dirt" background. I used that as a starting point to create my own stone paths that blend in with the dirt. Here are some screenshots-

Here's a link that shows how it all goes together.

We're happy to share this with anyone who wants to come over and pick up the patterns. You need to make sure that you saved any patterns you want to keep into your design storage. You can pick them up from our ables, and transfer them to another character in your town by placing them on the shirts and umbrellas in your own ables. Just make sure you get them all saved into your design storage at home first to insure against accidentally overwriting any of them.

:cheer2: bravo on your Stringfish Lois :cheer2:

I'm still out on the beach fishing for Tuna - It's a good thing I don't have to catch one to eat - my neighbors would find my skeleton in the sand - HMMMMMMMMM - would work with the Pirate theme though :rotfl2:

Is it my imagination or do your animal neighbors get more & more needy as time goes on. I spent two hours this morning delivery gifts, looking for furniture, digging for fossils and making up greetings & catch phrase. Enough already - I have gardening to do and I really want to start making some walking paths. they're starting to get on my nerves -

I say no the catch phrases every now and then (DH thinks I'm being unfriendly). Yesterday one of them visited me. I had to pick a time, I tried in 10 minutes (n/g not enough time to prepare, bring her camera, etc.). This went on until I arranged for a time about 2 hours later. So I had to be "home" at 5 o'clock! Then I this animal checking out my house and telling me I shouldn't leave things lying around (uh, those would be turnips).

Thanks for the congrats on the stringfish. I was beginning to think only Greg was going to catch stringfish. Caught our first ant and my first cricket (:
(thanks Nancy)
now I have to catch a bee.

We wish we could stop the automatic scripts for catching fish (used to be a sea caterpillar!).

I'm thinking of becoming unfriendly with one of my neighbors - see if she'll move - she's quite snotty really :snooty: - wouldn't miss her a bit

you are so right on the fishing - now that I've been playing awhile - I know what's coming when I see the fish. At least new fish will be around come Spring!!!!

Each category male or female has 3 personality types. For females, they are normal, peppy, and snotty. I plan on driving out the snotty ones with pitfall seeds once we get a golden axe. Karma plays a role in getting the axe, so we can't be mean until then.

Things to try - don't talk to them. Neglect them. Don't answer them when you see the ! pop over their heads, don't send them stuff - they'll stay. Tell them to go if they ask about moving. Be consistent. Apparently shoving them around (pushing them when they block the path of your character) works too.

Keep the signpost areas clear of flowers - those become new houses when someone leaves. The animal takes their house with them.

I didn't notice that they took their houses, shows you how much attention I pay. I'll be pulling flowers from around the signs tonight and moving them to a better place.

thanks again Nancy - you are a wealth of knowledge!!!:thumbsup2

Wow :thumbsup2 thanks for this! I should have checked to see what you can do with the paterns.

I have only had KK Slider designs for the walrus :rotfl2: not good flooring :crazy2:

I think I will wait until I get a second character - gonna wait until I've paid my mortgage first, then start alllll over again :faint: They that character can have all the designs. I thought it may be a good way to 'mark' each square, I'm going for a perfect town when I start character 2.

Your designs are fab, I think I'm going to do a colourful one, maybe match with the flowers I plant :p not that I have OCD honest ;)
