Animal Crossing Issues...

The Tuna is just a hard fish to find and its worth a lot, plus getting it for your museum.

Be careful time jumping. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but if you time jump your turnips will rot and be worthless. I think if you change your Wii time its okay, but if you change the AC time they will rot...

I'll buy one lot first. I thought I read as long as you jump forward within the same week you are ok.

Hey Ian -

I was just checking out that link you referenced earlier today - saw someone selling turnips @ 603 bells. Entrance fee was 75,000 per trip

I finally caught a tuna yesterday (DH had one a while ago), he's also caught 3 stringfish (I have not).

I'm still hoping to make some bells on my turnips, I don't have the "bells" to pay someone else for their high price per turnip, so I will have to rely on the generosity of friends:cool1:

I'm such a gambler, hope it works out!! I know I won't get the millions, but at least if I don't lose I'll be happy!

In regards to having the barista hold your "oids" for you, you have to stand on the side of the counter and talk to him for him to offer to hold them for you.

OK - that's just crappy! What kind of person charges for that type of thing. I don't care if Nookie is selling turnips for 1000+ each, I'm not paying some random person to "enter" their town just to make a profit in a game. I think there should be a name for that type of person ... a CF-HO !!

Dang - is that price still good? I'll be home in 1 hour......

Honey!!!!!

We are hoping for a spike tonight or tomorrow.

Hey - watch it now::cop: .... we've "Ho'd" and man have we been rewarded for it! pirate: pirate: pirate: :lmao:

We should have a fountain today or tomorrow and then a lighthouse - all from either buying turnips that way or selling entry to folks for 600+ bell prices.

You pay after you sell - if you come in with a full pocket of 15, you are walking out with a crap-load of cash. Enough to pay any entry fee and not miss it! :thumbsup2

America is full of entrepeneurs!!!!

If the only way you will sell turnips is to your own Nooks, then the whole turnip thing is nothing more than gambling. Even though the prices tend to follow patterns during the week, there are weeks when you will not be allowed to profit and there is no way to predict when that will happen or do anything about it. Your chances are better if you are willing to search for higher prices in other towns. In that case you profit by your own efforts and not at the whim of some randomizing piece of code.

People who open their own Nooks to the AC community when they have high prices are providing a service. There is some risk in letting strangers come into your town, especially if your Nooks isn't right next to the gate. 10% isn't too much to ask, and friends are always free.

AC is all about exploiting natural resources with the fishing and farming and selling priceless artifacts. I see a high price at nooks as similar to discovering oil under your property. Charging an entry fee is like selling a lease to an oil company that wants to come in and capitalize on it.

There certainly is room for entrepreneurship in AC. There are people who run hybrid flower farms, or design custom patterns and murals. There are even landscape companies who will come in with flowers, fruit and axes and help you gain "perfect town" status. There are rewards from the bank built in to the game that require all the way up to 100,000,000 bell deposits to achieve. There is no way anyone will come close to this with fruit and fish. Nintendo clearly expected people to participate in the larger Animal Crossing economy to achieve those goals.

I want the tuna because I have an obsession to catch all the different types of fish. So far, I have caught all that are available to be caught right now except the TUNA. I have until the end of March to catch him until he is gone for many months (we don't time travel).

So, I have lots of flowers planted next to each other but haven't noticed any cross-breeding so I'm also curious about that.

When you get more money from Nook than you can handle, he conveniently puts it into bags of 99,000 bells for you. You just drop one by your host and go. Usually your host stands by the gate and waits.

We think our prices are going up today. Ian's going to check. We were at 178 last night.

Oh - and by the way - don't go backwards in time after buying turnips. Ian had adjusted the time to see the prices first thing in the morning when he got up - before Nook's technically opened. That night, we turned time back to earlier in the day, so I could go to Nook's - over 500,000 bells rotten and down the tubes for both of us.

oooo, maybe I'll be visiting Nancy tonight!!!! (maybe I'll visit anyway, just cause I like you):flower3:

I also need to catch the popeyed goldfish in addition to the tuna. And of course that Coelacanth. Oh well, with fishing as in life... patience is a virtue.

I've only gotten one set of roses to cross-breed so far. I've planted tons of pairs all around, but sadly only one pair have "mated"
I have a thought on that though and I'm goin to see if it works. The pair that made the hybrid were planted next to each other but in a different row and 1 space over, like this: F = flower
x x x x x x
x x x F x x
x x F x x x
I don't know if this is why it worked, but I'm going to re-plant some this way to see if that's why it works :confused3

Also, sorry to hear about the "turnip rot" Nancy  , but for what it's worth - now we all know what NOT to do...

If they charge 99k, paying is easy because you will have lots of 99k bags in your pocket after you sell. Just drop one on the way out. If they charge another price you can make a bag ahead of time and carry it in a letter. Go to the ATM and withdraw enough to have the right amount in your wallet. Then click on the wallet in your pocket and tell it "All" to make a bag of bells in that amount.

If you are paying after selling, you can still do this by using the ATM in their town hall. Just ask before you go, people get nervous when they lose track of visitors that they don't know. When visiting a strangers town, never run (wears the grass/snow and kills flowers) stay on the paths if they have them, and never pick up or buy anything without asking first.

Corky, planting flowers diagonally is what they recommend in one of the guides. There needs to be an empty space next to one of the flowers for a new hybrid to grow, and that pattern creates the maximum number of empty adjacent spots around the "parents"

Ian

Corky Girl, you still need to come visit! We haven't had you in our town yet. I have your codes in!

Lois - definitely come by and see the fountain! Ian figured out why we have no snow compared to the rest of you - we run all over our town and wear it down. That means, where there is no snow, there will be no grass. I'm on a mission to repair it - which literally takes a month, unless you want to screw with the time continuum. Secret is to plant flowers to get grass back. Let them be for a month until they have a good layer of snow under them and then pick them and move them to another spot.

I've had 3 hybrids so far. Pink and Orange cosmos, and as of yesterday, a pink rose! I think the secret is to have a red flower somewhere in the mix - increases your chances of the pink. I want to do a solid color bed to see if i can breed the blue hybrids on the pansies.

Wow - I did something right and didn't even know it - :rotfl2:

Hey Lois - missed your post - congrats on the TUNA :cheer2:

I hope to get to your town soon - I play at such weird times that when I go to see if anyone's gate is open - there isn't . I do open mine when I'm playing so check to see if i'm available ::yes::
I've noticed my snow disappearing too - I guess it was wishful thinking on my part to think is was melting and that spring was coming :lmao: :lmao:
