Animal Crossing Issues...

I just got Animal Crossing for my DS. So far, I'm not totally addicted, but I'm still trying to figure the darn thing out. It takes me a coup[le days to get totally into games. I'm just wondering if Wide World is the same thing as City Folk, and if the same tips can apply for both. From what I've read on the thread, they seem like they are the same, but I want to be sure.

For the most part it is the same. Except on DS you can't go into the city. And there may be a character or two that aren't in both games. But generally they are the same.

Paid off my first loan and got a bigger place. Still working hard to get bells, need some new fruit so I can start a farm.

So I purchased the red turnip from Joan last Sunday & planted it. I've been watering it every day and it looks to be in good shape! Should I dig it up today or do I have to wait until tomorrow so it will be exactly one week?

Thanks!

Gotta Get To Disney! :moped:

Today. If you wait until tomorrow Tom Nook won't buy it. There is no stalk market on Sundays.:goodvibes

We think we might be interneted with our Wii, we have lots of cherries, and some coconuts. What do you have?

Madi - I'll get extra turnips for you, if you want me to. You have to come over later to see my new basement, anyway! ;) Also, you have to pick up DIS designs from me.

Lois - If you are set up, I'll PM you my friend code. My gate is open all day today (we're doing the Christmas take-down, so we'll hear anyone who enters the town. You can send your friend info to the email I have in my PM.

Today three of the other residents of my town and I played Hide and Seek. I had 15 minutes to find 3 of them. I failed and only found 2. I don't know what wonderfulness would have happened if I had been successful....

Tonight KK Slider plays in the coffee bar.

but, football rules......

Hey Pete! Thanks for those tips, I'll work on that! Do you have to do it all at one time or could you do it each time you play daily? (the thing with the Easter candy 800x:scared1: )

Glad you had this to keep you entertained while you were ill;)

I played hide and seek today too:goodvibes I just managed to find them all - trampled a few flowers along the way though:headache:

You get a letter the next day with a gift enclosed - sorry I can't remember exactly what it was - it was an item (a leaf shaped icon)

KK Slider is cool - DH was laughing when he sang - I think it's really cute:cloud9: He gives you a song which you can then play inside your house:thumbsup2
He also asks for requests - does anyone know if there are any you can actually request without him doing one of his versions (which sound nothing like usually :rotfl: )?

I played up until Monday so I may try to get a few more days ahead tomorrow (in between ironing and laundry :laundy: )

Oh and the bus driver seemed like he was hitting on me :scared1: :confused3

I'm working hard to clean up from time travel :( It was fun, but messy. I'm not sure if I"ll be on later or not. If so, I'll look you up. I have TWO presents for you. Hope you haven't gotten them yet.

How do I get turnips...white or red??

Joan will be in town on Sunday mornings until noon. You can buy as many white turnips in bunches of 10 that you want. I lost a lot of money the first time because the price offered at Nooks was never over what I paid for them.

She brings one seed packet of the red turnip that costs 1000 bells. If you plant it and water it EVERY day you can sell it on the following Saturday for 16,000 bells. I've done that the last 2 weeks in a row.

Woo Hoo-I've caught 3 stringfish since last night. That helped me pay off my 3rd mortgage. I should have the additional story to my house in the morning.

I missed you tonight. Your gate was open but I went to get stuff, and it was then closed. Bummer. I'll just send you your presents.

Oh - I closed and reopened it to save - darn it! We're up now and will be on tomorrow night. I'll pick up extra turnips - just in case! I don't expect near as high returns this week.

Nancy

Most may have learned this already but just in case......

One tip I learned tonight around 10:00 pm. I was "harvesting" my fruit trees and decided to shake the non-fruit trees and in some cases bells popped out. Overall I ended up with 2,000 bells. Only 100 bells will pop out of a tree. I tried during the day but kept getting bugs. I guess at night the bugs aren't around.

Hi everyone,

Apparently, I've created some kind of frenzy with my casual mention of Animal Crossing on the show. Glad to know I'm not the only adult with a job who get's hooked into this game :)

AAHHH....well this explains it. The REAL reason why there was no podcast show before January 7. The truth comes out. :rolleyes1

Just kidding....thanks for the tips. AND I am glad you are feeling much better. :goodvibes

[ I'm not thQUOTE=WebmasterPete;29567080]Hi everyone,

Apparently, I've created some kind of frenzy with my casual mention of Animal Crossing on the show. Glad to knowe only adult with a job who get's hooked into this game :)

Anyway, here's a good tip if you have 12 hours to kill and want to make big progress in the game. Doing this, I was not only able to pay off my house, but also put 1 million bells in the bank.

Time travel to April 12th - that's 'Bunny day" in AC. You'll find LOTS of places to dig things up - most of those will be bunny eggs. When you crack open your bunny egg, you'll find one of two things - either a piece of bunny foil, or a piece of candy. Take the bunny foils to town hall and give them to the spastic rabbit (who is quite possibly the most annoying video game character ever) and in return, he'll give you a piece of bunny furniture (these sell at Tom Nook's for 8,888 bells). With the candy you collect, time travel back to Feb 23rd - that's Festivale. You'll find Pave at Town Hall (quite possibly the gayest video game character ever). He (yes, Pave is a HE - hence the "gayest" character comment) will ask you for certain color candy - you need to give him three pieces of that candy and in exchange, he'll give you a piece of Pave furniture (which sells for $12000 bells in most cases). Do this about 800 times (back and forth between Feb 23 and April 12) until you have full collections of both Pave furniture and egg furniture (your Happy Room academy score will go thru the roof), and sell off the duplicates.

Then, when you're finished with that - take EVERYTHING out of your pockets and fill all but two or three spaces with whatever fruit is native to your town (in my case, cherries). Take your candy and put them in letters (I think you can hold 10 letters in your pockets), then time travel back to Oct 31st at 8pm to find Jack. All the characters in the game will be dressed alike for Halloween. If one of your town's animals come up to you they will ask you for candy -don't give them any - they'll get mad and will turn one item in your pocket into a jack in the box. Since you'll have nothing but fruit (which would sell for 100 bells), they will turn one piece of fruit into a Jack in the Box (which will sell at Nooks for 1,000 bells).

Finding Jack is pretty easy - he's the only character that won't chase you and won't automatically initiate a conversation when you approach him. When you find Jack, BEFORE you initiate the conversation, take a piece of candy out of one of your letters and move into your pockets. Then immediately talk to Jack - give him a piece of candy, and he'll give you a piece of Spooky furniture (sells for 10,310 bells). As soon as he leaves, move the piece of furniture he gave you back into one of your letters so you don’t risk having it turned into a jack in the box by an irate animal.

By the time you do all this, you will pay off most, if not all upgrades to your house (I was already on my final upgrade when I did this), and I was able to pay off the full mortgage (you'll get a flag outside your house for this) and bank 1 million bells.

This was how I passed the time when I was sick and it did a great job taking my mind off how miserable I felt :)

I'll see you all in 3 days.

Enjoy.
