Animal Crossing-City Folk

Well, I certainly wasn't aware that you could wave at your neighbors! How do you do this?

It's really cute, you'll have to try it out!! :cutie: First of all, they have to be across a river or pond (there may be other ways that I haven't discovered yet) and kind of facing your direction. They you just point at them with your Wii-mote and hit A and you wave at them and they wave back! It makes a little noise and they smile real big... it's kind of quick so it's easy to miss! :goodvibes It doesn't work if you are just standing near them with nothing separating the two of you.

I will be trying this out as soon as I get home! (I have a date with Poncho at 6:45 anyway :rotfl2:) Thanks!!! :goodvibes

I'll have to try the waving trick tomorrow.

I've been on AC all afternoon. I got in a lot of bugging and fishing. I had a big streak of luck. First, I caught a hammerhead. While I reeled that in, a scorpion (my first) came up behind me. I was able to switch to my net and grab him. Then I went for the second shark shaped object (figuring it was the ocean sunfish) and got my first shark! Right after that I got my first pufferfish. My luck ended when another scorpion got me before I got it.

I finally got characters to wave at me! Someone had told me it didn't work if your gate is open, but knowing to wave across the water was the final clue. It works! Hooray! Thanks!

I didn't know this either!!!!!! Cool! I am going to try this in a bit. I just got thru playing a bit ago. I was hoping someone would be on. I had my gate opened.
I am in August, and my character is getting a tan!!!!!!!! Her face looks sort of weird tho :rotfl:

I was so excited when I first did the waving thing! Some of the neighbors will bow to you instead of waving. I didn't know you could get a suntan! How cute! :cutie: What's wrong with her face? :rotfl:

I tried it and it worked! :cool1: My favorite neighbor, Lolly the cat, bowed at me :) She is so cute. She is still walking around with the red bikini on.
I didn't know you could get a tan either til my dd pointed out "your charcters face is getting tanned". Since then, it seems to have gotten darker, so it just looks odd now or something. I guess I am supposed to carry an umbrella around to shade me, but that would be a pain :rotfl:
August isn't seeming as fun with the bugs and fish, although I did miss a tarantula the other day. I tried to catch him, and he bit me :scared1:

I am totally going to try this tonight!! My son will love it!!! Thanks so much for the heads up!!

We did get to see Tom last night and you were right, he is a blue kitty. He is kinda gruff like our favorite Fang!!:goodvibes

How funny is that when you have the dates with the neighbors!!! :lmao:My DH just  at us when we tell him that we have to be home because Fang is coming over at 8pm or we need to go to Pate's house because he threatened earlier to move out of town!!! :rotfl:

I know, my husband is like that too... especially when a neighbor is sick... I worry about it so much! :rotfl:

Turnips are going for 544 bells - and I didn't buy any! :sad1::sad:

My gate is open, so hopefully SOMEONE can take advantage of these prices.... I'm leaving the gate open even when I'm not there, so pardon me if you do come over and I'm a "bobblehead" - I'm not ignoring you, I'm just not there! ;)

I must have missed everyone today! :sad1: I actually played for quite a bit but no one ever had their gates open.

Thanks for the tip about waving to your neighbors. That was so cute. I'll be doing that all the time now.

I'm hoping to play tomorrow as well so maybe there will be some open gates. :thumbsup2

Yahoooooo! We rocked the turnips tonight! :woohoo: I got home from our short trip and immediately hopped on and saw that Susan's gate was open and found out about her turnip prices. I switched my day to Sunday and Joan was selling for 99 bells so we ran back and forth like crazy and we both made millions (literally!) of bells!! Diane joined us for awhile too. I will be playing a lot this weekend - I have my town set to November so I can collect the Mushroom furniture. Hopefully, I can catch up with the rest of my AC pals - it's been a looooong week!

Oh....and I got my golden net!!!

Hi my name is Laura, I am usually on the Teen Board, but my mom told me about this thread. I LOVE Animal Crossing and I hope you guys can help me out.

I am trying to get the golden watering can from the town hall, but I can't straightin my town good. What can I do about it?

Can anyone tell me - does each player get their own friend code?

Plus we had thunderstorms last night and lost power so now the Wii wont connect to anything - dang.

Yes, each player does get their own friend code.

While Keri and Diane and I were playing last night, I had two internet crash errors AND then completely lost the internet connection. I eventually got it going again by powering it off and moving it and clearing the internet settings in the Wii and having it re-detect the wireless. Some hair-raising moments :scared1:, but it all worked out in the end:thumbsup2. I hope yours comes back faster than mine did!

Keri, my DD has added the friend code for your DD and has her gate open, though we suspect she may be sleeping in this Saturday morning. I have not yet shown my DD the incriminating pictures of you from your visit last night....

Yes she is....and so did I. I just woke up but she is still dead to the world! LOL! And speaking of last night....you wouldn't believe how dumb I had to play about the "musical instrument you hit with mallets to play" bit. "Oh...it was a joke" "Did you get it?" "No not really...."

Yes, that's a good one and for more detail, try this:

You can plant extra flowers to make up for a lack of trees as well. You need a certain number of either/or or a combination. Then once you achieve perfect status, continue to water flowers every day and plant the ones you get from your Nook's around your town every day as well to make sure the number stays up.
