I've read a bunch of stuff about how to get a perfect town. They keep saying to clear an area that is 16 "acres" x 16 "acres". Anyone know what they mean by an acre? How do you measure it?

I've been able to grow 3 black roses. I've put them all in the same place hoping to attract the peacock butterfly. But still no butterfly. Has anyone attracted one of these, and if so, any pointers?

Start at the top edge off your town, dig 16 holes across and 16 down, I believe that is an acre.

Once DH is done shoveling the driveway, I need to run some errands. DD and I leave for WDW 2 weeks from today and I have so much to do! All of a sudden I just realized that we have this weekend and next weekend to get everything done.

But I plan on spending a good part of this evening and some time tomorrow playing AC so hopefully we can meet up.

OK. We are all home for the night and I am in my jammies, have a couple frozen pizzas ready to go in the oven and if that kitten is ANYWHERE in my town, then I am going to find her TONIGHT.


Yes folks, this is how I am spending my Friday night and sadly, I can't think of a better way to spend it.

I wonder why she isn't showing up in your town? I KNOW the mama cat is saying Seattle, lol! She shows up everyday and I talk to her and stuff, and as soon as I open my gate, she disappears! Dang it, if she wasn't so irresponsible and losing her kid in some random town we wouldn't be having this problem!

Rather than digging holes, we used one of the patterns from the designs area in our pockets. I started in the top left corner and laid 16 patterns down and 16 across. Then connect those two ends with more patterns and you have an "acre". Then start again at the top left and count 16 over and 16 down. Where the acres adjoin, you get a double line of patterns. Any tree or flower on a line is in that acre, which means you don't necessarily have to cut everything down to get it mapped. Then we used graph paper and colored pencils to color in the correct squares on the map. The nice thing about using the patterns is that they don't go away when you log out. As we finished mapping each acre, we go back and pick up the patterns, so we know where we left off. As I said, I was surprised to realize that some of our acres only had 3 or 4 flowers in them, since it seems like I spend a lot of time checking all the flowers and watering the wilted ones.

The link Fantasia posted is the one I used. We're just about half way done with the map, it goes a lot faster with two people, my son the Boy Scout is especially good at figuring out where the trees should be placed on the graph.

It's April in our town and we just had our tournament, and I won! This is the second month in a row that I've won it. My kids are jealous!

Has anybody else noticed tons of butterflies and insects? We had rain all day yesterday, and bam! butterflies everywhere today. Keri and Annika, thank you for all of the "lovely" stuff. Marissa is loving it.

My town has no bugs at all! Unless I am blind or something...I finally caught my first bug yesterday.
