So is the only way to get other fruits by going to other towns? All I have are peaches. I've found a couple coconuts on the beach and planted them but both times the trees have died.

Try writing letters to the animal friends in your town. Include their name in the letter as well as the word "friend" (I have heard that saying "friend" twice helps, but I'm not sure), then attach one of your peaches to the letter. They will start sending you mail back and included in those letters there will be shirts, furniture and/or fruit. That's how I got all the different fruit trees. When you start getting in other fruit, chop down some of your peach trees and plan the other fruit in their place, you should then start growing the other fruit trees, which will be worth more. Home fruit (your peaches) will sell for 100 bells, others will sell for 500 bells. As for the coconuts, plant them close to the shore, but not in the wet sandy portions, that should increase your odds of growing a good coconut tree.

Has anybody else noticed tons of butterflies and insects? We had rain all day yesterday, and bam! butterflies everywhere today. Keri and Annika, thank you for all of the "lovely" stuff. Marissa is loving it.

More insects became available on March 1.

I'm glad the pond smelts are gone as of March. I was tired of those things.

How do I write a letter?

Hi DancingBear! You need to buy some stationary from Nooks. Then you click on the stationary from your pockets and a prompt will come up that enables you to write a letter, click on that and a keyboard will pop up. Type your note on there and click done (or whatever, it might be "preview" then done...?). When you have your letters written, you click the letter icon in the upper right section of your pockets to open your letter bag, then click and drag a "gift" from your pockets to the letter. You can send fruit, clothes, flowers or whatever, to your animal friends. After you have done that, go to the City Hall and mail them (it is the counter on the right). The next day (maybe 2) you should get mail from your friends thanking you for your letter and gift!

I hope I explained that ok... If not, hopefully someone will do it better!!

To write a letter, buy some paper from Tom Nook. Once the paper is in your pocket, you should get the option to write a letter when you point to the paper. Once your letter is finished, click on the letter icon in the upper right on the pocket display. From there you can grab an item in your pocket and drag it to the letter to attach it.

Hi everyone! We are back from Disney World. We had a great time, even though the crowds were a bit larger than we had anticipated. That's ok, we made the most of it!

When we got back it had turned into Spring! Butterflies everywhere! I like it! I also returned to find that my Lighthouse had been built!

I still have not seen a spider. I read on here that they will be found in trees. I am shaking them, but still no luck. Thanks for the tip though!

I have a question... can you transplant hybrid flowers? I really want to move some that we have gotten to grow, but am afraid to transplant them! Will they die if I do??

I am working on getting a hybrid blue, purple or black flower so I can attract different butterflies, but have had no luck with that yet. I'll keep trying! Any hints on that would be appreciated also!

The spiders are tricky. They fall out of the trees when you shake them, but not very far so they are REALLY easy to miss. I missed mine the first time, but then something caught my eye and I went back to it.

I have been able to create black and orange roses. All of the black ones came from the same pair of red roses. I moved them, along with my orange rose, to a separate spot and they are doing fine. Still no butterfly, though. I planted two white roses in the exact same spot that produced the black hybrids and I'm waiting to see if they make purple roses. But like you I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to get the butterfiles to show up.

We should find out today if we got a lighthouse or a windmill.

No, sadly the horse mackrel is always there. However in April the tiny shape can also be a sea butterfly, which is a pretty yellow fish. SO much more interesting that the bland horse mackrel!

I did! I donated it though. We try to make that our rule that the first new catch...you donate. We had a lot of tuna luck last week! I caught 2 in a matter of 15 minutes and then my favorite neighbor Fang asked if I wanted to buy one for 30,000 bells and when I said no he just gave it to me!!

Thanks for the tip on those spiders!! I have shaken every tree in my town today, so I am sure I just missed them... I am going to go back and shake them again!

I have gotten orange roses to grow, but still no black, blue or purple flowers of any kind. Glad to hear you have had better luck, it gives the rest of us hope!

Keep us posted on your lighthouse or windmill! And, Congratulations! Now what are you going to do with all your extra bells?? I spent mind on the entire Princess Collection at Gracie Grace! Now I'm broke!

Thanks for the tip, I will have to try that! I found another coconut today and planted it near my house...but maybe I should try to dig it up and plant it near the shore instead.

On a side note it was raining in my town today and the bugs finally appeared yesterday.

Oh yeah, I also have another question...what is the deal with that guy Pascal? I saw him for the first time today and talked to him. Then he jumped into the river and floated away! (it was funny, the other day I saw on a facebook group for AC that someone witnessed AC suicide. )

NO! Don't dig up your coconut!!! .... It will die for sure.... If your house is close to the shore, it might grow. If not, then try planting the next one you get closer to the shore.

As for Pascal, don't talk to him until you have a scallop shell in your pocket. I keep one in a drawer in my house so I will always have one handy. When I see him, I go back to my house and get the scallop and head back to talk to him. When you give him the scallop, he will give you a special furniture item in return!

It hasn't rained in my town yet. I got the game for Christmas, so there was just snow. Now it is Spring, but still no rain for me yet... I am sorta looking forward to it!
