Help! I must be doing something wrong. I have planted several trees, some saplings and some fruit that was sent to me in letters, and they have all died. Is there some trick to planting?

There are some places in your town where trees will never grow, no matter what you plant there. It could be that you have been planting in those spots. With fruit that you get in letters (if it isn't your native fruit) it's important to get those trees established so you can start harvesting more fruit - I would recommend replacing some existing trees with that fruit. Trees are more likely to grow in a spot where a tree was already living. What you do is chop down a tree, then dig up the stump. Don't fill in the hole - instead, plant a fruit there. Don't run over the sapling and don't dig it up. It should be a little larger by the next day - if it is, it will not die after that. The trees I plant like that always live; I've never lost any of them.

Also - the pine saplings you can buy at Nook's will only live on the upper part of your town. The palm trees (that come from coconuts) will only live within 3 spaces of the beach, but they won't live down on the actual sand.

You can plant your native fruit in the empty spaces in town to see where your "dead spots" are. If trees grow, you can always cut them down later and replace them with better fruit. Trees won't grow right by the signposts in town, and they won't grow within one space of other trees or buildings.

I am in the middle of major renovation of my town. No matter how hard I tried the town hall kept telling me I got a D or a C- on my town because of too many trees in some areas. So now I am cutting down and replanting trees. I never knew owning a town could be so much work. On a brighter note, I won the fishing tournament and got my trophy. Now if I could only get the perfect town!

Oh I did plant a money tree and it grew! My $30,000 turned into $90,000 in 4 days. If only in real life we could plant money trees.

he did get to go to Aimee's (eek40 ) town for a visit and had
so much fun there. He opened up his gates yesterday for awhile
and Aimee got to come over and visit lol no fruit on his trees
because he had picked all his new fruit and sold it. I posted on

Hey vaGal, I enjoyed having Justin over. I had just hooked up my wii speak and had football blaring in the background so I hope that when I turned it off that it helped. I loved his town, plus he was kind to bring flowers! I have WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY plenty of fruit so he need not worry about not having any. I just like to visit other towns. I brought him some cherries and left a little cash as a gift. I got wild world for ds lite this weekend..just what I need

Hi guys!!! I'm going through withdrawls I havent' been on in a couple of days... I did the fishing tournament on Saturday but we have been so busy in real life..

Aimee I got my FIREPLACE!!! If fell from a tree.. I paid off all my mortgages now so i'm hoping to get on today so i can see my flag...

I have never and I mean never played video games before. I am so hooked on this one.. I guess because its not stressful or you HAVE to beat something to win. I hate to lose so thats why I never play.. Just ask my kids when we play board games.. Or when we go bumper bowling.. And yes you can cheat to win in bumper bowling

Had a lazy weekend, so this meant I spent way too much time playing ACCF!
Donated enough money to the town to get a fountain and windmill. Of course my inpatient ds time traveled a bit to get these so quickly. We are having no luck when we throw our axes into the fountain. Serena either keeps them or just gives back the regular axe.

Oh PlutosFriend I feel your pain. I have decided that the fountain fairy is bi-polar. I can never seem to answer her questions correctly at all! Just when I think I do she decides that she has changed her mind. We did get a silver axe one time, but its driving us nuts. Every day we try! LOL She needs to be replaced with a kinder fairy, maybe like the tag fairy on here!

I've been so busy cutting down trees and replanting them. I've gone from too many trees to not enough greenery in areas. It's driving me nuts! I certainly could have used a sliver axe because I think I've gone through about 10 axes in 3 days. I have to keep time traveling so I can buy more axes.

I've planted 3 more money trees and none of them grew. I think I've lost $100,000 of my hard earned bells.

Still this game is very relaxing somehow!!!

She is really ticking me off! Guess what brilliant thing I did?! Accidentally sold my silver shovel that I got from Resetti! I think I was trying to talk on the phone and play ACCF at the same time. I guess my my brain is too old to multi-task

Do you have the guide book? I will have to look in there..I know there is a section that tells a little bit about planting trees the "right" way. Don't worry, but town always gets a D too! I haven't even tried to plant a money tree yet. Most of my trees are various types of fruit trees now. I think it is relaxing too.

If you time travel can people still come visit or do you have to be on the same day and year? I open my gates every game and my friend can never get in. I'm not sure if it's because I'm time travelling or they're doing something wrong.

surprised. He did pick some of your trees but didn't wanna take too many lol.
I ususally just sit and watch while he plays, makes me want one of my own lol. He's also got the wild world for ds lite, but hasn't played it in awhile if you need an item he can get you anything just let me know!

The way I got more fruit in my town was... I sent letters to all my animal friends in town and included my native fruit. When they wrote back, they would send my gifts too, sometimes it was fruit. I then planted them and they grew into trees! It's fun!

My DD told me to just call them my "friend friend", so that's what I do... and I say the same thing to them all, nothing fancy. I also use their name... that's it! I get a gift back every time. It isn't always fruit, but I get something! I hope it works for you too!! Let us know!

I buy them all seeds and mail them. I figure it is a win-win the town is prettier for all the flowers and I usually get a gift back. I always comment about them and being a friend, buddy, or pal.
