May I ask a question? Can you still play the game even if you're not hooked up on the internet? Thank you.

Yes you can still have a blast without internet or wifi. The only thing is by having the wifi you can get other fruits that sell for more at Nooks, if you cant do wifi I would suggest the following, wait for a coconut to drift up on the ocean sand, then plant it near the ocean, it will grow two coconuts. Plant those two, in two days you should have 4 more, plant them, all along the shore. Then when you have like 20 or so you can start selling them, for the 500 dollars instead of 100 for your native fruit Its a great relaxing game!

I'm glad I found this thread. We received AC for Christmas and I am getting rather bored with it. I think it's time to venture out and find some friends.

Hey all. I have been sick so I haven't been over DF's house to play AC but I am going to be there tomorrow to make up for lost AC time!!

According to my DF we just got our windmill in town. I can't wait to see it. He said it looks pretty cool. Also, we got some Japenese downloadable content. One is a ice cream freezer and another is a milk freezer. I think he is selling it. We have a friend in Japan so he is getting a bunch of stuff from them.

I suggest going on different animal crossing forums and hooking up with friends from other countries. A good site is www.animalcrossingcommunity.com.

I will be adding all my new friends from here tomorrow!

LOL I am glad you had fun. You killed me in the bug off contest, but I got the good sport award...ha ha ha. I think we may have cherries soon! I am checking now to see what they are doing. I have enjoyed having everyone visit, at one point we had two guests at one time, that was fun!

FYI: I dont mind anyone taking fruit or shells anytime. Or buying from nooks either. If you are letting your children play I can assure you that we play child friendly and I hope everyone else does as well for that matter. I typically say hi and welcome and let you know you can take fruit, then I say to let me know if you need anything. If your child is not allowed to talk whatsoever, we will respect that, just let us know. (we are both teachers)

That sounds like so much fun. We're going to check it out. My daughter (age 10) and I have played a lot of AK on Game Cube and on DS but we're really enjoying it on Wii.

I have a funny story...My dd and dh came to visit you last night. The only thing they brought in their pockets were a fishing pole and some flowers. My dh tried to plant the flowers as a thank you for inviting them over. However he put the flowers in his mouth and couldn't figure out how to get them out, then about the same time his makeover wore off. DH and dd couldn't get themselves out of there quick enough.

I can't wait to get more friend codes entered.

A quick question....I must ask with having young dd's that play, how safe is this? Is there something I should be careful about and how? Also if you have someone over and need to go, can you send them home? Also, what is the proper etiquette for picking fruit and buying stuff? TIA

I hope to have some visitors soon. Can you make it so your gate is permanently open? I have to open it every time I go in - is that hte only way?

So far I haven't been able to visit anyone (no open gates), but hopefully that will change tonight!

Yes the normal stuff to be careful about. They should never tell anyone where they live, phone numbers, personal information. I sometimes say I live in Oklahoma, just because I am curious but if anyone ever told me that they are not allowed to tell me I would not mind one bit. If you need to go you can close the gate. In my town you can pick fruit and buy whatever you like. I would recommend to everyone that they just let people know whats ok and whats not in their town. I would not be happy if someone came to my town and chopped down my trees I personally do not every dig in a dig spot in another town because I think thats for that town. I do like to fish and buy at Nooks, it helps people get upgrades

When anyone stops by to visit my town I don't mind if you take some fruit or buy stuff.

Speaking of buying stuff, I need a sling shot to get the balloon that keeps floating by. Anyone know how to get one? It never seems to be for sale.

Also, I keep making snowmen but they never seem to pass. Anyone make a successful one yet?

Thanks Aimee for the info. I do hope that everyone we open our doors to or that open their doors for us remain respectful of each other. I did read on another board where someone had their town destroyed by someone they let in.

How do you make snowmen? We've tried and it didn't work.

Right now I'm waiting for DD to get home from school, and for the sun to work it's way around to the other side of the house. Apparently our Wii has some issues with sunlight? I promised DD she could be the first one on the Wii today since we had to go to the Youth Mass at church yesterday evening and when we got home, she couldn't find any towns with open gates. As soon as she finishes her homework, and we clean the hamster's cage, we'll add all the new folks!
