We still need to catch the "beehive bees" - haven't been coordinated enough to do that yet. And we only just learned about the tree trunk beetles, so we don't have those either..I don't think we have a petal tail dragonfly either, we're not usually home between those hours.

For those of you who have caught a golden stag beetle, where did you find it? The book says it's on trees, but somewhere online it said it specified coconut trees. DD and I are looking for that one and the giant petal tail dragonfly now.

I caught a golden stag - this morning at 7:30.
I thought I read they were a night bug, must be mornings too. It was on a palm tree. I could cheat and hold it for the bug off contest Saturday - but I won't DH already caught one and donated it, maybe I'll keep it for a while. and although I didn't actually see it, I walked too fast past a stump and spooked one of those stump beetles - still haven't actually seen one.

Yep, the Golden Stag is out between 7pm and 8am! They are pretty, I don't blame you for keeping one for a while!

I don't think I've ever seen a petal tail dragonfly! I keep looking! My notes say they come out in the afternoon between 4 & 7pm, but I haven't seen one...

And I am STILL trying to catch a tarantula! I am feeling the pressure too, because they go away at the end of August... Does anyone know if they come out in the rain? And I also wondered if they were out during the fireworks show...? I thought that might scare them away.

I think those are the only 2 bugs/fish I haven't caught so far. I have 3 more fish to catch to complete my collection in the museum, and 7 more bugs.

It looked just like a regular dragonfly until she held it up. I was able to catch a scorpion but that tarantula has been rather elusive lately.

Welcome back! How was your trip? I did find another mushroom mural - do you still need it?

I'm trying to help my DD complete the Lovely series. She still needs the dresser, end table and phone. I know the phone is a long shot but can anyone else help me with the other 2 items? I'll happily send bells!

The kids have really been playing a lot lately. As a result we're starting to lose grass in areas. I can't blame them - they need to look for bugs and to do that they have to go on the grass. I read somewhere that the issue is magnified if you have multiple players in the game, and that's us. I really hate that Nintendo added that "feature" to this version of the game. I figure it will grow back because once school starts they won't be playing as much.

One other question - has anyone else here ever had flowers just disappear? I'm not talking about them wilting one day and then being gone the next if not watered. What I'm seeing is perfectly fine flowers one day that are gone the next. Has anyone else had this happen?

and as far as the grass goes, from what I understand, every time you open the game, a little grass is lost, so if multiple players are playing - it's bad for the grass. I've got so many flowers growing, just to get the grass where I want it. What a chore! I'm always thrilled when it rains...

I am so sad right now.

We had a thunderstorm yesterday and our power went out for about 1 second (we have all electronics plugged into power surge protectors), but that was enough to mess up my Animal Crossing (which was on at the time). My unit comes on, and other games will play, but ACCF won't come on at all. It acts like it wants to load, but then I get a blue screen with Resseti on it saying there was an error and to consult my Wii owners manual. Which I did, all it says is to send the unit in for repair, they may be able to fix it, and they may be able to restore the game information. So, I might loose everything. But even if I don't, my town will be totally messed up. All my hybrids will be gone for sure.

Worst of all... I can't play. I have been playing this game and taking care of my town since January.... I had 2 fish left to catch and 4 bugs... I'm so sad...

I have never used a memory card, but I will surely look into one now. So, y'all might want to consider that too...

I feel sick for you! When we had the old GC version of the game, the kids formatted our memory card that thad our AC town on it and lost everything. It was awful! The thought of recreating everything after all that work was overwhelming.

We have a memory card on our Wii but our game isn't saved on it. It's actually saved on the memory in the Wii itself. I found this out when we wanted to create a second town - we thought we could just use a different memory card and have a brand new town. Nope, it doesn't work that way.

If you do need to rebuild, just let us know what you need and we'll send it your way!

Thanks for the kind thoughts y'all... I really miss playing this morning, that's when I would water all my flowers, and at night I would try to catch that darn tarantula!

I have no idea how long my unit will be gone being repaired. But, I will keep up with this thread because I will surely play again, even if I have to start all over! I am trying to look on the bright side, and all I can come up with right now is I will have grass again if I have to start with a new game...

Oh! I do have a piece of information I can share! I was playing a few days ago, and one of my animals asked me to catch a bug for him, I did, and when I gave him the bug, in return he gave me a tarantula!!! BUT! (and y'all may already know this) You still have to "catch" one for it to show up in your bug log. I turned it in to my museum, so it helped filling that up, but I still have to catch one for it to count in getting my golden net. .... well, now I will probably have to catch EVERYTHING again... but I digress....

Well, TxTink, I sure hope I'm not joining you soon.

Yesterday when I tried to go to the Wii Settings screen, I got an error message that my system files are corrupted. Now THAT doesn't sound good! I can still play but can't change anything. Again, I tried to save my game data off to the memory card but it won't let me. I've read up on the issue and it sounds like my Wii will have to go back to Nintendo.
