I have been to the website for the swim and still have a few Q's about this excursion. My son is mainly interested in the stingray swim. I received an email from the company that says you get 15 minutes with the stingrays? I hope this is not the case.
:earseek:

Anyone who has been on this excursion that can add their experience in detail would be great..

--Do you get to swim with the stingrays?
--Do you get to snorkel and dive with the stingrays?
--Can you bring an underwater camera to the stingray part? (I read you can't bring an underwater camera on the dolphin part)
--How long do you get with the stingrays?

It is the only stingray swim I can find listed on the excursion list. Are their others or is this it?

Thanks in advance! ::MickeyMo pirate:

I'm not sure the time spent with the Stingrays but it was not that long. You get to feed them, swim with them but it's not a big part of the whole excursion. You can also take pics underwater but the water is too murky that our pics did not turn out!

We really enjoyed the excrusion but if that's all your son is interested in is the Stingrays, don't waste your money.

Do a search and put in "Anguilla dolphin encounter" and you will get quite a bit of info including my question (in March) and the answers I rec'd. (Try to find AnnMorins post mentioned in my post.)

We are doing this excursion in a few weeks. I will try to remember to post some info on it.

My understanding of the exc. is that the time with the dolphins and the stingrays is somewhat limited but it sounds like a lot of people enjoyed it. The pictures of the Dolphin Fantaseas' facility on their website look beautiful. Not only are we going for the dolphin/stingray experience but we are doing it to get back to Anguilla and also to get to a beautiful beach. We went to Anguilla on our honeymoon and it was wonderful. The hotel we stayed at is on the same beach as we will be going to on this exc. The exc. is a lot of money and we thought twice about doing it but hope that it is one of those once in a lifetime experiences.

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply’s.. Yes I did a search and read all of the posts..... The problem is that everyone only talks about the dolphins. Someone asked about the stingray portion but the Q went unanswered.....

I think my son would enjoy the dolphins but he is more interested in the stingrays.... If it is the only stingray excursion on the Eastern then I guess we will do it. I know he will enjoy the dolphins and I guess I will just hope the stingray portion is good.

Thanks again!!!! :sunny:

Here is an email I recieved from the company. I hope it will help others who have simular questions about the stingray portion of the tour....

---email---
--Hello my son and I are planning on taking the Anguilla dolphin and stingray encounter when we arrive in port from our Disney cruise in November. I have a few questions about the stingray portion of the program. My son is mainly interested in the stingray part of the program.--

--How long will he get with the stingrays?--

10 to 15 minutes

--Can he snorkel and dive with the stingrays?--

Yes

--How deep is the water (he is a good swimmer and the reason I ask about the water depth is for diving purposes)--

Stingray area 4 Feet deep, Dolphin area 16 feet deep but you ware a life vest.

--Can I bring an underwater camera to the stingray part? (I know no cameras are allowed in the dolphin part)--

Yes you can do so but only in the stingray part .

--Can we use our own snorkeling equipment?--

Yes you can use your own equipment.

--Your website does not list much info on the stingray portion. Do you have a guide or brochure you can send?--

Unfortunately we don’t have more information on the stingray portion of the program because we only do the stingray program as an added attraction it is mainly for education and the isn’t a necessary fee allotted for this activity, if you choose not to do the stingray program you would still pay the same fee for just the dolphin swim portion of the program.

I do hope I have answered all of your questions. If you have any other question don’t hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely Yours

Lydia Paul.

We did this excursion back in Sept and it was awesome. You only get about 15 -20 minutes with the stingrays. The main focus of this excursion is the dolphins. If you have your own snorkel equipment you can use it while your group is doing the beach portion of the excursion. Who knows, he might discover some stingrays in the ocean.
