Well, those were some interesting stories!!! Mine don't compare at all since in both instances the victims were fully dressed! :p

A long time ago my mom locked the keys to the car in the trunk....while she was visiting a cemetary. A kind person drove her home for extra keys....and back to the cemetary only to find she brought the wrong keys!

Many years later, when Matt was about 3 and EB an infant, my darnling son managed to lock some doors without my mom knowing...and all 3 were stuck outside. I had just returned to work after having EB and had only been with the company a short time when I got the call to go home and rescue them. Unfortunately what I didn't realize was that the only door that wasn't locked was our garage door....and the only remote was with Lew who was in court in a city about 1/2 hour away!!! It all worked out in the end.

I'll be around for a bit this morning then off to visit FIL and then to soccer. Have a good day all. :wave2:

Good Morning!!

Steph~Thanks for the giggle!:rotfl: Did you learn anything from it? Like maybe~wear clothes outside????

MP~Your story about your Mom's friend was funny!:rotfl: The trash can lid idea was very clever!!

Good morning all!!!

Wow, Steph & Merry, what stories yo uhave there! Glad you weren't stuck out there Steph!!! And wow, I couldn't imagine going out with two trashcan lids!!!! That was brave!

Hi CS!

Camilla, I hope your day of cleaning goes well :)

LOL, Carol!! I normally do too!! The only time I didn't have quite enough clothes on was when in colelge our dorm caught on fire two stories below where I lived. We smelled smoke so we went downstairs (our RA was MIA) and as soon as we got downstairs we were told to go outside (turns out the fire alarms weren't all working). Most of us were in shorts & t-shirts (PJs) and most didn't even have shoes or slippers on. THey wouldn't let us go back upstairs to get shoes even and we were ushered outside. Fortunately some others on different floors had extra coats and were nice enough to piggy back us around. Oh and this was in the middle of January too ;) Lots of fun!

LOL Gail... wong keys??? I am now very glad that I keep all keys I use on the same keychain :p

Boy do I feel good about not locking myself out of anything... yet ;)

Again lots of pages to catch up on.

Steph - at least you had a good time before you locked yourself out.

Brian - funny story about the mean mom store although we all know who the evil one is!;)

Sandi - the roads were terrible Friday night, but I was determined not to miss a night out w/o the kids. i forgot about you living nearby.

MP - hope the crock pot spaghetti is as big a hit as E's!

Gail - glad FIL is settled. do they know how long he will be in the hospital?

Lars - is the answer to tomorrow's riddle going to be in Swedish?:teeth:

I don't have any lock out stories to tell (knock on wood). My SIL is always locking her keys in her car. I told her the next car she buys better have On Star so they can unlock the car for her! Kids had fun playing outside yesterday, but it was cut short since it is so cold. Went to dinner at an Irish bar last night w/ the IL's. Any dinner is great when you don't have to cook, clean up, or pay for it! Not sure what we are doing today. DH might take DS to an indoor ice skating rink, and DD seems to have a cold starting. They are calling for 3-6 inches of snow later today with ice forming tonight. Guess it will be a delay or cancellation for schools tomorrow.

I DID have clothes on...just not appropriate clothes for -10.

I made homemade doughnut this morning for the neighbors and the boys returning from camping. My DN (dear neighbors) thought that the reason I locked myself out last night was because I had a weee bit too much tequilla.......maybe if I had, I wouldnt' have felt the cold!!!!!!

What's for dinner tonight??? I think we're having roast beef..... I NEVER cook roast beef; beef...ick.....so I'm not sure when we're eating.......I told everyone "when it's done....."

Gail~hope your FIL is improving.
Lars~how was hockey?
SB & LK~how's the weather, heading my way???
E!~I'm watching POTC again.....thought of you :)

MP~church today....any injuries to report?? :hyper:

:wave2: to the men! and everyone else!

Hmmmm, just realized we need to get the sheets into the wash. Crikey its cold in the basement!

I have only locked myself out once, and just broke a window to get in. Nothing exciting about that.

Dinner is going to be spagetti and meatballs, pete love it, he would eat spagettii and meat sauce or meat balls 2 or 3 times a week.

Kinda boring day here, did the grocery shopping and now on to the wash.

Behave, please.

Wow Steph~Homemade doughnuts sound yummy!!! Hockey was so/so yesterday...we got beat bad~our goalie isn't the greatest-he scored on himself twice:faint: The other boys were good sports about it though. In about 15 minutes we'll be off to today's game. But then we don't have another til Friday
:D

Good afternoon.

DH, DS and I went to church this morning because DS was crucifer. The boiler wasn't working so it was freezing. I wore my coat the entire service.

Then this afternoon, DH and I went to the laundromat. We have never done the laundry in public before. (OK, take your best shot. I am setting you up.)

Now just waiting for the snow to come. Tomorrow is already scheduled off school for a professional day. DH was going to take DS skiing and that is probably off because the roads are supposed to be bad. DS is disappointed. This weather is messing with a lot of our plans this year.

I don't know what is for dinner here. I better start defrosting something.

Good Afternoon

Billy and I just got back from the gym, I got him running with me again. He'll only do it in the wintertime, run that is

Steph, I've never attempted homemade donuts, are they cake donuts?

SB, I'm curious, why do you travel SO far to bowl?
We have a bowling alley at the bottom of our plan here, close enough to walk to. My boys grew up bowling all the time. One of Adam's close friend's Dad owns it and they bowl after hours a lot.
Billy and I used to go bowling all the time, we've haven't done it lately. I think I'd like to.

Carol, what did you end up defrosting?

MP, great story! Now that would have been a good one for America's Funniest Videos

We're going to have leftover Mexican tonight!

Sandi - someone on the social team at work picked that bowling alley, don't know if they knew someone there or not. They were nice alleys, but I would have liked to have bowled in the south hills, north hills or anywhere that doesn't require using the Parkway East. I just don't like traveling that stretch.

Carol - spectators for you while you do laundry, hmmmmmm...... wouldn't be my choice, but whatever makes it exciting!

Lars - hope your DS has better luck w/ todays hockey game.

Steph - we used to make homemade donuts w/ our mom - yum! good luck w/ the roast beef, if it doesn't get done, Arby's has 5 melts for $5!!

Marsha - i could have some sort of pasta dish every day too. i don't think this weather is ever going to improve, my fingers are freezing just typing!

CS - Did your BF ever make it to see you?

I have hot dogs for dinner, but might talk DH into going out since the snow hasn't arrived yet. Stay warm everyone!

Hi all.. been a lazy day here for me... not been doing much at all.

Lorraine, I agree, any dinner that is free and free of any hassel is perfect!!! We were supposed to get snow today but so far (knock on wood) only flurries

Lars & Steph, are we going to have more easy riddles this week? I'll suck up all I need to in order to get one ;)

Dinner tonight? HOpefully something I don't have to make ;) Those donuts sound great though Steph!!!

Smart move to break the window to get back inside... a friend of mine did that once.

Lars, sorry the goalie scored on himself twice.

So Carol, how was it doing that all out in the open public. More exciting htan usual? ;)

Hi CS :wave2:

Enjoy your left overs Sandi! We have some spaghetti, but I've had it 3 days in a row already... I might need a change ;)

Lorraine, I hope you can get your DH to go out for you!! Stay warm too!

Steph, funny you should mention injuries. Amy fell down before church this morning. She takes after her mom! She caught her shoe on the edge of some tile. A woman that saw her go down said something clever about her falling just like her mom. I guess they'll remember us always. She's fine. Just hurt her pride a little. At least only about 3 people saw her go down vs. the whole congregation.

The spaghetti must have been good. They ate the whole pot!

Haven't had homemade donuts in years. Mmm. Sounds good.

Lars, hope todays game is better.

Laundry in public? To each his own! Personally, I prefer a more private laundry setting. Although in college, I believe DH and I often did laundry in public.

The kids are going to youth group at 5:30. Guess Allen and I will get something for dinner. It's supposed to turn cold soon. Tonight maybe?

OH Melissa...I feel so bad for Amy......I really thought the odds were in your favor this week and you'd both be fine.....better buy a lottery ticket the way you two are going..........you know....you've hit everything but the lottery....:hyper: Hope she's fine, and her dignity intact......and shame on that nasty woman for being like that in church.

Laundry in public.....hmmm...Carol.....well....I'm not going to say ANYTHING!!!!!!!! :rotfl:

E! Make spaghetti pie....that's one of our favorite ways to use up lefover spaghetti.

Roast beef is roasted. Potatoes are mashed (I HATE POTATOES) and just waiting for the popovers to come out of the oven.

As for everyone who asked about the donuts....yum...they're called "Sugaring Donuts" The recipe is a family recipe we used when we go maple sugaring....nothing like a donut dipped in fresh maple syrup, or sugar on snow. and a big dill pickle.

YUM

okay, you probably think that's really weird, huh? It's wonderful.
