Gail, I hope things go well for your FIL. You and Lew are going to have your hands full.

Maybe we should get all our kids together here to have a contest about who has the meanest mother.

It is still snowing here so I don't know if I will get to my mom's or not. How can I go after I told DD she couldn't. Of course they are in opposite directions.

I think I will make sloppy Joe's tonight. I forgot that I bought the ingredients to make them so I didn't make them.

My washing machine broke last night halfway throught the cycle. The spin cycle made a horrible noise and wouldn't spin. So, I had to call the neighbor and go to their house to finish the laundry. And they had company over. (Alright, take your best shot. I am ready.)

Carol, I'm glad you aren't upset. I really didn't think you would be or I wouldn't have done it. You'll get me one of these days, I have no doubt! I'm not touching the finishing the laundry at the neighbors with a 10 foot pole! Whew! Sounds adventurous to me. Hope you get the washer fixed soon.

Glad to hear I am not the only crabby mom! Sounds like we could have a contest, for sure.

Love the new countdown timer, Sandi. Closer to the wedding, I'd like to see a picture of the happy couple again. I have an idea . . . but I want it to be a surprise.

E, Amy saw your post and said she wants one of your cats! LOL! I think her daddy won't approve since we already have one AND 3 dogs, but nice try.

Allen's work called early, again. He went back to sleep and I got up. I'll be glad when he isn't on call 24/7, but I shouldn't complain. At least we still have a job.

DH's aunt knitted me a scarf just like that for Christmas!! Only difference is mine is done in beiges & blues It's soooo soft! I LOVE it!!

Snow is on the way here Sunday night ..... which will lead to an ugly Monday morning commute - I think I'll put that out of my mind for now ....

Ushering at a symphony concert tonight and then get to see the performance for free ... then visiting my parents tomorrow ....

Gail, prayers said for your FIL. At least they are closer now so you may be able to keep a better handle on things with them. Please update us on his condition as soon as you can.

Sandi - that scarf is beautiful! I've never attempted knitting or crocheting. I like to stick with cross stitch only.

BTW, I was just reading about that house to Lenny a little while ago. It sounds amazing!

Carol - you have me ROFLMAO these days!!!

Lou, yes there is such a thing as a "mean mom store". I shop there often. Mostly because I force Logan to practice French Horn and I won't allow Leah to eat candy for breakfast.

Sandy - enjoy your night at the symphony! We are supposed to get the same weather here this weekend. I hope it holds off tomorrow for a while because we have a dinner at church for all of the volunteers.

We bought the house, signed the papers this morning. And celebrated at Longhorn, I had 2 Rasberry Margaritas, and I was feeling happy.

Sandi - I saw that story in the paper and thought that had to be the house you were talking about - did you get to dance on the dance floor?

LK and I went out in that terrible weather last night to go bowling w/ people we work w/. I had a wonderful time bowling, but a terrible time driving in the snow. I was going 35 m.p.h. on a major highway. Kids are going out sled riding now. No mean mom stories for me right now, but I do get my share.

What a relief that you decided to keep your kitties, E. Amy will have to live without any additions to the zoo for right now. Besides, her room is still a disaster. Not exactly the time to beg for another pet.

Just a quick stop to see how everyone is doing.

E! I bought everything to make spaghetti this week too.....must be the power of suggestion.

I'm off to the big city to meet Heidi for dinner and drinks at a mexican restaurant. Raspberry Margaritas sound good!!!! mmmmm

Okay, so I want to thank helenabear for putting that song in my head all day today and thanks to Lou for reinforcing it with "The Mean Mom Store".....and the visual he's given me to carry around all day, of a store the size of Lowe's, with groups of women all huddled in groups behind velvet ropes........So, you walk into this store, and of course Roy Orbison is playing, and the salesman greets you and proceeds to show you around.....Yes, of course, we have some that are 'Mean' and those are just 'Ornery' and those are 'Mean and Ornery' (of course they're a bit more)......and I say, "What about those? They don't look very mean." And he says, "Oh, those.......why they're hardly ever mean.....in fact they're Angels......although they do get a bit testy when someone says something about their typing."
And finally we come to the back of the store..... back where the clearance racks would generally be, and there are two more groupings.......in one, there are two women....so, of course, I ask.....and the salesman tells me they are 50% off because they are twins, and no one can tell which one is the evil one, you're just going to have to choose one and take your chances......No thanks, says I, I'm not feeling very lucky today....and what about that last one....over there......by herself........Oh, he says, there used to be two there also, we got rid of her PIC a bit earlier, but her....... whew....... she's (and he leans in reeeeaaal close)..... she's free.....we can't give her away.....(whispering now)..... she IS evil.......she likes MATH RIDDLES!

E, you started something. I just remembered that I am supposed to bring something to church for potluck tomorrow. Allen and David are out running errands, so I called Allen on his cell. I asked them to stop at the store and pick up ingredients for crockpot spaghetti. I figure that will stay warm through church and our annual meeting. It won't be fancy, but kids like spaghetti. Besides it's easy and I'm feeling lazy.

Allen is also picking up a shelf for my laundry room. I have cabinets over the washer and dryer, but want a shelf between the two. I want a spot to put detergent, stain remover and small laundry baskets. So we have a project for this evening.

Brief stop home then the kids ane I are going to the birthday party. We're hoping Lew makes it.

FIL does have pneumonia and is being admitted...Lew's waiting for them to get him to a room. I'm not sure of all the details as whenever he called me he had to go outside to use his cell phone....and it's 18 degrees and dropping fast!

Thanks for your good wishes....I'll try to check back in later tonight. I sure could use one of those raspberry margaritas about now myself!!!
