It's a little chilly out, but at least the sun is shining and no more rain!

Gail - sorry you didn't get any winnings, but any night out w/o the kids is always a winner!

DH is taking the 1/2 of the basement carpet outside to dry. It is just wet and that is all the damage we got. I know better than to put good carpeting and furniture downstairs. Going to be lazy today 'cause we have basically no running water - struggle to even take a shower - so i can't wash clothes or run the dishwasher. Bummer..... Guess we will have to eat out for dinner tonight.

E, I think it was all the talk of your new boots that made Lou want you as a stalker.

Good to know that my kid isn't the only one with multiple books. She picks out an armload when we go to the library, and is always ready when it's time to return them if not before. I used to be an avid reader, but don't seem to have as much time anymore. I usually read my handful while she reads her stack.

They were still saying on the weather last night that all this rain will eventually move back to the southwest. It's supposed to get at least as far as Louisiana and Arkansas. Wish we'd get a little, but nothing like you have experienced. Hope it doesn't go back over all of you, but takes a different route. Sounds like you've had more than enough.

EB's another one to read several books at the same time (me too!) and she read the Harry Potter series, by herself, by the time she was 8.

We're eating out again tonight - but just because our NJ friends are visiting. We're going to a RI landmark, Twin Oaks ! Huge portions, reasonable prices, strong drinks!!!!

Good Morning Everyone!

I'm finally awake.......................ok ok....I was awake earlier but I stayed in my room reading for an hour or so more........no kids yelled Moooom so I was able to read in peace

Now I'm up & thinking about heading to the grocery..........then I need to be on the road for driver's ed by 1:30....they drive from 2-4.....Megan's babysitting tonight & the rest of us are heading to Blockbuster & then we'll just hang at home.

I sent my kiddos and Allen to park cars! I'm alone with the zoo, and loving it. Allen and Amy will be home after lunch to watch the game. David is on a stretcher crew. Then tonight we'll all meet up with my brother, Mom and her boyfriend for dinner.

Actually, I'm off to take a shower and run a couple of errands before the game traffic gets bad. TTFN!

Just got back from TGIFriday's... even got the brownie obsession... nothing better than a hot gooey brownie covered in hot fudge, caramel and vanilla ice cream... I'm happily stuffed

I'm back. They said on the radio that it will feel like 115 degrees on the field today in Norman. Yikes! David may stay busy on that stretcher crew! Hope my mom fares well in the heat, but she's up in the upper deck where she should get some shade and a good breeze. I'm glad I'm watching in my air conditioned living room today!

That brownie sounds yummy. Wish I had one right now. I skipped breakfast and haven't had lunch yet. I'm contemplating what to fix. Amy and Allen will go for pizza with the other car parkers, so I'm on my own.

Hope Ivan has gone for good now everywhere. None of my FLorida relatives had any damage, my mother can't get out of her carport due to trees across the driveway, but they are small trees and one of the cousins will probably get rid of them today, if they haven't already.

I can only read one book at a time, but I read fast. It's a very expensive hobby, last week I spent $59.00 on books. And I have already read 6 of them. The books I read are not in the library usually. But I do give them to Goodwill when I have finished them.

Cold shrimp for dinner I think. I need to go get some avacados to make guac to dip them in. Yummy!

Right now I'm reading the newest Debbie Macomber.......just finished Buddha Mom (really enjoyed it) & my next one will be the new Patricia Cornwell...then Flip Flopped (next months book club selection) & then I need to work my way through my stack of unread books
It really is an addiction~I keep buying books even though I have tons that I haven't read yet at home.......

I jsut ordered Eragon for my boys has anyone gotten this one for their kids yet??Eragon

Wow, y'all have good dinner plans... not sure what we are going to do here... then again I really am not feeling so hot, so maybe I'll send Luis with my dad (whenever he comes over) to get something that would be good for the both of them

Did we ever think about doing a book exchange? Or maybe even sending books around? A group I used to be in would send books to each other all the time. The owner of the book made a bookmark and listed everyone's names on it. When you finished reading it, you mailed it ot the next person on the bookmark.

Sounds like all the rain soaked angels are drying out. It was beautiful here today....made for a very slow day at the mall.
After work we stopped for dinner and now we are home chilling out. Not sure yet what our plans are for tomorrow. I'm thinking Milwaukee Zoo, but I havent mentioned it to Lou yet.

Im off to read for a while. Im about 1/2 way through The Memoirs Of Cleopatra. Its a great book, but I cant read it as fast as I normally read. I think its all the Latin, Greek and Egyptian names and words that are making me slow down. But I am really enjoying the book.

Evening all,
Went for a short walk this afternoon. Weather was great and ended up to be a long walk. I was out for about 2½ hours.
Getting a few thins repaired around the house. Chimney was repaired today and plan to get a new roof (shingles) in the next week or so.
