That stinks Mike:( Don't people realize how valuable a few hours at WDW are to some of us?? It not only takes away some WDW time, it has to be getting annoying! Maybe you can get it switched like Elaine did:hug:

Mike, I'd call and try to change it. Personally, I think this is getting too common a practice. They tried to change our flights when we went on the cruise, and they had us leaving one airport before we even got there. Eventually we got it all worked out.

I've been to the OU campus twice today and I'm not even going to the game. I dropped Amy off to work and took Mom down to pick up her "will call" tickets. Then I drove her back home and had about an hour before I had to pick her up and drive her back down to the church to meet the rest of the family. She was afraid if she drove she wouldn't get a parking place. I think she was correct. As usual it was packed.

When I dropped Mom by the stadium in the morning, the OU traffic lady motioned me out to my right on Lindsey St. I did what she said. Unfortunately, the police had just blocked things off and made the street one way for game day. Yikes! So the police stop me and ask where I came from and why I'm going opposite the rest of the traffic. Actually we all laughed, but it was a little scary for a minute. LOL!

I've tried to call Star and so far no luck. I don't know if she isn't getting cell service or if she didn't hear the phone ring. I did leave a message, so we'll see if she calls me back. I'd love to meet, but if we don't work it out there is always the next game. I promise I'll take my camera if we get together.

The last thing you want to happen when you go to do some retail thereapy is for the mall to be completely w/o power. So I cannot return the watch that is broken and that is the only store near by. So instead of Chick Fil A, I had to settle on Arby's... I realize stupid little things are getting to me because the lettuce they put on my sandwhich (even though the guy clarified with me over teh speaker that it was supposed to be w/o) really ticked me off. Just hasn't been a good week I guess and with the traffic due to teh game, I wouldn't dream of going to a different mall anyway.

Missy, I hope you get to meet up with Star!! I have to laugh though, ever time y'all say OU or OSU, I think Ohio University and Ohio State :p

E, we just assume that everyone knows what we mean. I mean in this neck of the woods OU can't mean anything else. ;)

I'm taking a short break from the game - a commercial is on so I thought I'd check my email. So far, so good. Boomer Sooner!

Where is everybody? It's sure quiet around here.

I never did hear back from Star. Guess she didn't have cell service. :( That's okay. We'll try again. And how about them Sooners? Woot! (That was for you Star!) :teeth:

Now that the game is over, I'm sleepy again. I may have to take a little nap. ::yes:: After all, dinner is in the crockpot and I ran the dishwasher. What more can the expect? Actually, the house looks like a bomb went off, but that's too bad. I think I'll wait and let them help me pick up tonight.

Missy, looks like it is mostly just you and me today :p I think it sounds like a perfect time for you to nap :teeth: Just sorry you and Star couldn't meet up.

Well finally something good happened today... Ohio State won! And I went to Target (which is stupid of me since I had to go out of my way to avoid the OSU traffic as we live less than 2 miles to campus, but it was okay all the same) to finally pick up some Lindt dark chocolate truffles... all week long I've been saying I wanted chocolate and I finally got it ::yes:: Oh and my sweetie started cleaning up the kitchen for me. Suppose I should wash some clothes and do some ironing/folding today.

Just wanted to stop by and say:wave:

I have a ton of things to do and just don't feel like it! I guess I better figure out something for dinner before I get a bunch of "I'm Hungry" 's. I have to go check out what I have in the freezer. Later:wave2:

Home from my brother's.....off to a friends house for a drink or 2:D

Just back from getting ice cream... yummmy :) Been watching college football today... didn't watch much of OSU's game (too "emotional" to watch it ;)) but watched the MSU vs Rutgers and now we have the LSU/Oregon St. game on. Decided a movie would be better to watch.

Never got the nap. DH called and said to put the crockpot stuff in the refrigerator. He was taking us to dinner, because he felt like eating fried catfish. I didn't argue. ;) Now I've got dinner cooked for another night, because the BBQ should keep just fine.

After we ate, my mom, Amy and I went shopping for my SIL's birthday gifts. Her birthday was this week and we are seeing them tomorrow evening. While we were hitting the stores, Amy saw the costume she needed for Halloween. She wants to be Arwen from LOTRs. We still have to find a cape. She says she *has* to have a cape. She'd like a long, flowing velvet one. Unfortunately they are all vampire capes right now. That won't work. I REALLY don't want to have to make one. I keep reminding myself that soon she won't be doing this anymore. I should enjoy her enthusiasm now, right?

Allen bought me two new CDs. Both are Jimmy Buffet. One is his latest that he'd seen me looking at. I've been driving around all day with them blasting in the car and rocking like a parrothead. :teeth: I'm thinking I could use a margarita.

Missy, sounds like a good dinner to me and even better than you have another one set aside for tomorrow ;) Good luck finding a cape for Amy... I hope you won't have to buy one for her.

You reminded me to take a book upstairs with me to read... I got The Silmarillion to read... and while reading isn't really a strong point of mine (nor is reading Tolkien really) I figured I'd give it a shot.

Finished watching Much Ado About Nothing with Luis. I hadn't watched that one in a very long time. Forgot how silly part of it were :teeth:

I think I am going to go upstairs and read now... we have church and then a cook out at my dad's. Decided to skip out on the other one we were invited to... fortunately I hadn't replied on that one before, and we were told if we are done with my dad early, that we should still stop by. So no matter, I am sure I'll eat well tomorrow ::yes::

Hey Everyone:wave2:

It's been very quiet around here today:confused: That's odd for this chatty bunch:p

Tomorrow afternoon we are going back over to the same friend's house we were at tonight for a bbq & get together:D

I'm gonna head off to bed with a book too:o

Night All:wave2:

I love #8 (cant think of the name)...the one that starts out about having Grandma calling and booking you on the Jerry Springer Show. That song cracks me up every time I listen to it. I also really like Scarlet Begonias. OK, the whole CD is good, but sometimes I only have time for a couple songs and I usually skip to those two.

I just started reading the Memoirs of Cleopatra (historical fiction). Huge books, but i heard it is really good. Maybe I should head off ot bed and read a bit too.

Good morning everyone.

It sure was quiet here yesterday. But I see Elaine and Melissa were keeping us going.

Mike, that stinks about your flight. What airline is it?

We spent most of the day at University of Maryland. Saw Sarah before the game and then saw the band play at "Terp Alley" where the football players come into the stadium. That was 2 hours before game time. We met up with Sarah and got our tickets. Our seats were so high in the stadium that we could actully see the Washington Monument. At first I couldn't move because I have a real fear of heights but after a while I got used to it.

The band was great. Were took binoculars and Sarah had told us where she was in some of the formations so we could pick her out. I talked to the mom sitting next to me seeing as we had band tickets. Her daughter was also a freshman clarinet. When we looked at them in the stands, we realized they were next to each other. What a coincidence. This mom and I talked the entire game. Later DH wondered what we could have to talk about. Funny how sometimes you can just hit it off with somebody.

Sarah came home with us. (I am washing her clothes right now.) We didn't get home until 1AM so everone else is still asleep.

We have a potluck party with people I work with today and then we are going to Six Flags outside of DC tomorrow before taking Sarah back.

I'll check back when I can.

BTW, UMD won yesterday.

Morning Everyone!

MP and E - thanks for keeping us from slipping to page 5 yesterday!

MP and Star - sorry you guys didn't get to connect yesterday. at least you know it will happen soon.

Carol - how nice that you got to meet another clarinet mom. i don't like sitting high in stadiums either.

Lars - enjoy the bbq today!

Have to go to Target now and get a couple of things. One of my GF might be coming over w/ her daughter today to swim. Guess I have to do a quick cleaning.

Enjoy your day!:sunny:

Morning all... I don't know about Missy, but it shows that yesterday I had no life :p Then again all I hoped to do got squished when the mall was closed (really set me off badly for some stupid reason). Can't stay long as I have to get ready for church though.

Lars, enjoy your bbq today!

Carol, that is so cool you got to meet that mom like that. I had friend in college in marching band (I didn't even audtion for it) and they would give me the parents tickets who couldn't go. Met a lot of nice parents that way :)

Lorraine, I'm starting to get jealous of all that swimming you get to do ;) Enjoy the day with your GF.

See y'all later :)

Morning! :wave2:

Going to the zoo with friends today and later plan to drive to the beach to see the surf, it's higher due to Frances. It's going to be a long day for folks in Florida with that storm. :(
