Unless Steph is dying to do it............;) :teeth:

HI gang.

Congrats to Star and Steph. I missed Lou's post the last time I posted so I didn't know the winners yet.

Laura, we will have to compare half time shows. Andrew is doing John Williams music - ET, Indiana Jones, etc. Sarah is doing video games - Tetris, Medal of Honor, etc.

We decided to take the bikes and do a bike trail between Baltimore and Annapolis. Of course today was the hottest day so far this summer. We rode for about 2 hours then went to a big mall we wanted to see. Got home and went out for pizza.

Star, great first day of school pics.

LK, Yay for Leah.

Well, Sarah called and needs a book that is somewhere in her room. I told Jack that if I don't come out to send in a search party. Sarah insisted that she didn't need to clean her room, we could just close the door.

Happy to help out MP - it was fun talking to you !

It's my turn to whine. Pete and I have not gone anywhere together alone in a looooooooong time. I think it was June of 2000. We have gone places, but it was either with our son, or friends, never just us. So he has scheduled some days off, and wants to go "somewhere". I was hoping that we could go to WDW in Dec, but he only has one day off and 3 days isn't going to do it, what with flying all day etc. October looked like a better choice, he took 2 days off, so we have 4 total. I got an email with great rates, airfare is cheap. I showed him the DVD tonight, he REFUSES to go. "It will cost too much, I don't like the resorts, I don't want to be surrounded by kids and I don't want to rush around."

I am so tired of him not wanting to do anything. No matter what I suggest, it is either too costly, or too cold, or too hot, or too something. And he NEVER has time to look up any information on his own, so he has no suggestions. He wants to do nothing, just relax, so I suggested a nice hotel on the beach less than 2 hours from here. His first question, what's there to do there? NOTHING, you wanted to relax and do nothing! No, he wants to relax and do nothing but on the beach where it's warm, but he doesn't want to spend a lot of money to do it, but he wants to stay in a 5 star resort. I give up. If any of you ever hear me even thinking of doing any traveling with him, shoot me.

Awww Marsha... I feel for you... the last time Luis and I did more than a night or two away (all close enough to drive to for 2 nights) was our honeymoon (Oct. 2000) so I totally feel for you on that. I am blessed that he is finally joining me on a trip in Dec and we might really make it on a cruise this winter (we'll see). Good luck trying to work with him on getting a trip planned!

Just watched the Olympics closing ceremoy... heading to bed soon ;)

Marsha, that's sad. I'm sorry that your vacation isn't something you can agree about. I'm lucky to have a hubby that loves to travel as much as I do. We just don't seem to have time to do it very often.

LK, tell Leah I said way to go!

Loved your pictures, Star. Amy said "Awwwww!" when she read what you posted. He's a cutie.

Lars and Carol, David's band is doing songs from Moulin Rouge, Johnny B. Goode, Roll Over Beethoven, and Pinball Wizard. That's all I can remember right now.

Buskerfest sounds like fun. I love to go to festivals.

Had a busy day today. Went to church this morning and out to lunch. Then we folded and hung up all the clothes I washed yesterday. I'm planning to get a bunch of work done tomorrow. It's my first day with the kids back in school. They went last Wednesday, but I was too busy getting ready for Kansas City to notice they were gone.

I hate getting used to a new mouse and keyboard. But don't get me wrong. I'm not complaining! I'm thrilled to be able to post again. There are just some subtle differences that make DISing slower.

We're home!

Matt didn't do too well today at all. :( He was punk when he woke up but we figured because he skipped taking Motrin before bed. He took some and zonked out. I sent the others to Lake Compounce and said we'd meet them there once he woke up, but that wasn't meant to be. His fever came back with a vengance but after a second dose it broke and hasn't recurred. He is taking antibiotics and I'll be checking with his doctor in the morning, but he does seem much improved - phew!

EB and the others had fun at the park and the DH's had a nice day at the golf tournament. Matt slept for most of it and I watched movies. Since I wasn't home I didn't feel guilty just sitting for most of the day.

Congrats to our contest winners!!! :D

I'll catch up better in the morning - night!

Good Morning!

Congrats to Steph and Star!
yeah.gif

Took my mom to the lake for the weekend, got in late last night. I thought it would be nice to get her away for a bit. I can definately see a change in her since she was hospitalized, she's just not as strong as she was before, and she seems a little unsteady on her feet.

Today is BB's first day of classes. I can't believe how fast this summer has gone.

Good morning!

Matt's much better today - he's already up and playing X-Box and the fever is gone!

Morning all!

Missy, so glad you have a new mouse and keyboard. Nice to be able to post, isn't it? :teeth:

Sandi, sounds like you had a good weekend with your mom. Sorry she doesn't seem the same as before, but hopefully she will be able to regain some of her strength back eventually.

Gail, glad that Matt is doing better today.

For some reason I am having a hard time waking up this morning. Wish it were Friday already ;)

Good morning everyone!

I need to take the van in to the dealership this week. The A/C died. All I can say is "Thank goodness it happened now and NOT on our marathon driving to and from Florida!"

I am getting ready to start on my first two scrapbooks. Donna and Sue are going to help me with a Disney one, and my friend Fran and I are going to do one for our DD's (the Leahs :)) for dance. Man, is it addictive! ::yes::

::yes:: It is addictive! and FUN:D

Good morning everyone.

Marsha, that is too bad you can't find a vacation you 2 agree on. We agree but can't find the time or money.

Gail, sorry you missed Lake Compounce but glad Matt is feeling better. Where does your frieind live?

LK, hope you can get the van fixed quickly.

Sandi, sounds like a nice weekend at the lake.

Lars, are you still making jewelry?

Too bad we aren't closer. We could get together and work on our projects together. I am trying to knit an afghan but don't seem to make the time. I think I will have to take the time from DISsing to work on it.

Morning all :wave2:

Yes, LK, scrapping is very addictive. On my 'to do' list for this week is to get my work space cleaned up so I can start working on my books while Sam is at school. My conscience wont let me do fun things until the house is clean, so I will probably start back up later this week. I really want to get the house back in order now that I have the time to do it alone. One the house is back to normal, I will only have the little daily stuff to do so I will have plenty of time to scrap and stamp.

LK, hope the van is fixed quickly. Another scrapbooker, yay!

Gail, glad that Matt is feeling better. Amy's ear hurts. I'm trying to decide if I need to take her to the doctor. Sometimes she beats it on her own and meds make her tummy hurt.

Sandi, hope your mom regains her strength soon. I'm always so afraid that anyone wobbly will fall and break something. Probably because I fall so easily. ;)

Carol, it would be fun to craft together. Wish we could do it. BTW, has Sarah met her roommate yet?

E, I'm sleepy too. It's always hard for me to get used to getting up so early in the fall, but I'll adjust.

I've got loads of work to do around here. I'm going to tackle a couple of rooms today.

I might go over to Mom's one day this week to start sorting photos. We decided it's time to put together a heritage album of old family photos. I need to do this while Mom is around to tell me who people are in the pictures.
