Wow! It's HisPITA's birthday too!?

Happy Birthday HisPITA!:Pinkbounc :jester:

Thanks Gerri! (you snuck in on me!)

Awww.....so sweet of you all to realize that it's my birthday too:cutie: Thanks for all the good wishes.

Not sure how much fun I'll get to have today....gotta pack pack pack.........WDW here I come!!!

1/2 way down page 2:eek:

Who's on bumping duty this morning:confused:

Happy Birthday Donna.

My packing is completed, and Lou even packed his bag last night. Shocked me since he is the type to through stuff in a bag as the ride to the airport is pulling up.

Now I just need to straighten up the house a bit so I can come home to a clean house.

Ill be a round for a few hours yet, but thanks for the well-wishes for the trip. We will be home late Tuesday night.

And to those leaving for WDW while I am gone, have a wonderful time and say hi to Mickey for me.

In case I don't get to check in before you leave, Bethany, I do hope you have a wonderful trip!!!

Right now I am trying to figure something out and then I get to wait for a bunch of work to come my way. There is so much that supposedly will need to get done that they are letting us work this weekend... no limit on OT. And while I like OT, why the heck can't they pick a time when I don't have tons of stuff to do over the weekend. I can stay an hour or so late tonight and I suppose I could pop in on Sat morning if Dave leaves early (yeah right), Sat night or Sunday after church... I suppose we'll see...

Must have something to do with the name.

To which, allow me to share with you the loubon method of packing, guaranteed to relieve packing stress (for everyone except your wife....;) )

If you are staying less than 3 days, take one of everything (underwear, socks etc.) plus one extra.

If you are staying more than 3 days but less than 8 days take one of everything plus 2 extra.

If you are staying more than 8 days that is not a vacation. That is called moving, in which case you should take everything.

This method has never failed me and I also subscribe to the fall back plan of our friends Lorraine and Elaine (the aine twins)....if that blizzard, monsoon or other event that requires you to need more than what is outlined above should, on the rare occassion, happen to occur.....buy new stuff (and a lottery ticket!)

Sage advice.....:p (BTW Bethany, enjoy!)

Lou: there are sooooo many things wrong with that packing method .....I wouldnt even know where to start!:teeth:

Lou :rotfl:

To reply in any other way to that would be truly incriminating to me :p

Lou, my DH mostly lets ME do his packing. ::yes::

Have fun in Texas Bethany. You'll only be a few hours to my south, so I'll wave in your direction. I can't get away this weekend for an angel visit. :( I'll be thinking of you.

Happy birthday, Donna! :cake: :bday: :cake: :bday: :cake:
:flower: Hope you have a wonderful day. :flower:

I'm going into pick-up, clean-up mode. Things have gone downhill fast in this household, but at least we have clean clothes after yesterday. Why don't things stay clean when you get them clean?

It's either the name or a man thing.

I need 1 full outfit per day, plus an extra or 2 just in case. 4 days = 5 or 6 outfits. Although for this trip I am only bringing 2 pairs of shorts, a dressy skort and a denim skort. I can always do laundry at the hotel ;)
And since we are planning to swim a lot, I am bringing 2 bathing suits...nothing worse than trying to put on a damp suit.

JUST IN CASE OF WHAT???????

What is it that you ladies are always waiting to have happen that will cause you to change your clothes from head to toe three times in one day?????

And it's a good thing I know what a skort is or else I'd think you had taken to speaking Larsish......:p

Just in case we
get a stain during the day and we are going to go back out that evening

Just in case
a man decided to take us out somewhere nice (reason for the dressier skort)

Just in case
it gets cold (ok, not likely in Texas in August, but that is normally a valid reason)

Just in case
we FEEL like putting on different clothes

Shall I continue? :teeth:

Come on Lou! Scrapbookers know you can't go around with a huge stain on your shirt if you're going to be in pictures! Who'd want to remember that?

Okay, I'm not here today :p but I had to pop in to add this:

First of all, I respect Dion and I hate to butcher his song like this, but for something that was done in the car running errands this morning, it isn't *that* bad.

*ahem*

To the tune of Donna the Prima Donna by Dion

Donna, Donna, the Riddle Donna
Glad to play
Had to say
It's your day

Angel who hangs out on the DIS
Leads parades, she's a riddling wiz
Yet, when she leads the parade
There's a chance she'll lead us astray!

Hanging out with the angelic folks
Dishing out and receiving the jokes,
I'll admit that I'm one of her fans
She wears moose antlers like no one else can!

They call her Donna, Donna, the Riddle Donna
Glad to play now
Had to say now
It's your day now

Pretty Birthday girl, knows just what to do
Posting riddles in the morn and dealing out the TUs
Pretty birthday girl, always on the scene
And we all know she is a PM machine!

She claims a family; she's had them for years
But where they are isn't perfectly clear
If you call her you will find something queer
'Cause lots of "meows" are all that you'll hear.

They call her Donna, Donna, the Riddle Donna
Glad to play
Had to say
It's your day

Pretty Birthday girl, knows just what to do
Posting riddles in the morn and dealing out the TUs

Donna, Donna the riddle Donna
(repeat and fade out)

Scrapbooking is also the reason I only pack solid colored shirts for Sam when we travel. Or maybe a shirt that matches where we will be.
In other words, I would never put him in a Spongebob shirt at WDW, but it is ok if he wears a Mickey shirt at WDW. But, I wont do that too often, what if he meets Pooh? Cant be wearing Mickey in a picture with Pooh.
And he cant be wearing a bright shirt at AK, needs to be in safari colors.
Yes, I am insane, I know this and I embrace my insanity.

Can you all tell I am bored and killing time sitting here? I leave in 5 hours (my timer is wrong) and I dont have much left to do. If it was warmer we could go swimming, but it is cool here today.

Bethany, you missed my number one reason for packing an extra outfit or two (well besides putting the outfit on first thing in the morning and deciding that I look 1) fat 2) stupid 3) or it just plain doesn't for that day) If I get caught in a torrential downpour or if I get soaked on a water ride...

*sigh* I go to Disney far too often :p

Alan... impressive

I need to wake up... and I know Dave is going to keep me up until all hours of the night/morning... he's always good like that

Love the song, Alan! You've missed your calling.

Bethany, just wait until Sam gets a mind of his own and insists on Spongebob at WDW! Yikes. :earseek: Getting teens to wear what you want can be a trip. I never thought of the color-coordinated dressing for my park pictures. I'll have to ponder that one. I do however think about making all of us sort of go together when I know we'll have a family shot. For example all reds and blues or something like that when I know I'll take a picture with the castle in the background.

E, I agree with your can't be wet reasoning. I hate being wet all day after a water ride. The looking fat one - it can't be helped since I am. I'd never get out of the room if I waited until I looked skinny. LOL! But I do have to pack extra because what sounds good when packing won't necessarily sound good when it's time to wear it. Sometimes I dress according to my mood. Bright and cheerful vs. soft and restful, etc.

I need to get going. We've stripped the beds and the sheets are washing. Now, we need to go put my mom's dog out (she's gone to lunch with a friend) and later copy some music that Amy needs to return to her friend.

The kids have reluctantly agreed to help me clean up. They did a lot of this first  , but they agreed. So I probably won't be around too much today. Happy Friday to all. :wave2:

Still trying to wake up so I came in here to lurk... actually this is the calm before the storm... why do they do this on such late notice

Anywho, I noticed how tired I was... so I will add on to what I meant to say...

*3) or it just plain doesn't work for me that day

*Alan... impressive :rotfl:

LOL, Merry, I am not skinny or close to it myself, so I should clarify that some days I just feel really blech and those days I need to have certain outfits to make me feel comfortable. But you did kind of make me realize that's why I take so many pics... that way *I* don't have to be in many of them ;)
You do have a good point about moods dictating clothing as well. I noticed that for me... mostly styles more than coloring, but I do it just the same.
When we were at DCA and decided it was time to ride Grizzly, we actually went back to our room, changed into gunky clothes, rode Grizzly 4x and then went back to the room to change :teeth: Perfect way to do it and it was nice to be able to get back into dry clothes. I was so glad I packed an extra outfit *JUST* for that type of a ride (Nancy had suggested I do that, since they do go and change just for Grizzly) I remember riding Splash last December... Michelle and I were in the front seat and got totally soaked... my clothes were clinging to me and I decided to hold off going to teh bathroom until back at the room because my jeans were so wet I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get them back on
