Morning all :wave2:

I am almost done packing for Texas. All I need to do is get some $ and pack the electronics (phone, camera, DVD player). But I can proudly say I got everything of mine in one small suitcase, with a little help from 2 gallon ziploc bags though. I put stuff in them that doesnt matter if it gets wrinked and squeezed all the air out. Saved a lot of room. Coming home should be better since I am leaving a couple things behind. I NEED my feather pillow to sleep, so I am bringing one with me. But since we just replaced all our pillows a couple weeks ago, I wont need to bring this one back home. Lou thinks I am nuts for bringing it, but I just cant sleep on those rocks some hotels pass off as pillows.

Star...if you think you can handle retail, most stores love to hire school moms for short shifts during the day. The ones I work for are very willing to work around school holidays, field trips, volunteering, etc.

Steph...thanks for the video. Although I never had to welcome anyone back from war, those tapes always make me cry. I love to see how happy they are, especially when they see their children.

I know I am missing a bunch of replies, but I did read everything. Have a good day

Morning all

Star I want to know was well to do the multiple quotes with names.
Bill Clinton is in town today to do his book signing. Security is vert tight. There were people that started to line up last night. He does not start to sigh until 11 this morning.
Not much on the agenda today. Why does your vaction week goes by so fast and when you work it drags on.
Summer must be almost all over; the back to school add are on the TV now.

Did you hear my wail from Oklahoma last night? Allen's having problems with the new computer. He had cracked into it to do something with one of our old hard drives. I don't understand the lingo. He stayed home today to work it out. He's really brilliant with computers, but would admit that hardware is not his strong point, but he knows TONS more than I do.

Stephs story about the baby made me tear up. I just can't imagine missing that much of babyhood. That's sad and yet wonderful that they're finally meeting.

Star and Lars, I hear you about the baby thing. I'm 43 and because of my cancer treatment I'm not allowed to have another. Yet I'm stubbornly hanging onto a swing, a bed, clothes, etc. I really wanted to have 3 children. Allen said 2 was enough for him. If someone wanted to give me theirs, I'd take it TODAY, without hesitation.

It's finally getting to the point that I'm almost ready to part with all of this stuff. I'm starting to realize that in a few years I might have grandkids. A scary thought in a way, but I'm looking forward to spoiling them and then sending them home. ;)

Think of the school thing not as the closing of a chapter, but the start of a whole new one. It's amazing to watch their growth. They'll gain so much socially and developmentally from school, but you'll always be the emotional rock. You aren't being replaced. You are just allowing them a little room to try their wings. They'll always come home to you! My big 17 year old DS still comes to me when he needs a sounding board and he always kisses me goodnight. Sure, he's too big for me to kiss his boo-boos and cuddle, but we connect in different ways. I can even talk politics with him and he doesn't lose it. :teeth: But then he agrees with me. LOL! (He does still enjoy a good tickle fight once in a while!)

I think I understand how to do the multiple quotes. I'm just too lazy. :smooth:

Okay, this is getting too long. I know I didn't respond to everyone. I did read everything though. :wave2: to the rest of you!

This made me cry......I'm struggling with the twins growing up so much & starting driver's ed.........so now I'm sitting here crying like a fool~I just love them so much & love being their Mom.........I'm having a really hard time with the letting go thing.....I know I gotta do it but I am still struggling with it.........

Don't worry Lars...one day they'll appear on Amazing Race and do something to either embarass you or make people wonder how they were raised. :teeth:

:rotfl: Thanks Alan!!! Now I'm laughing!

Oh my, lots of emotions on the thread these days! It is amazing how quickly kids grow up. I have to stop and realize that sometimes, especially when Leah comes into my room at night to give me the millionth good night kiss (cause she doesn't want to go to bed!). I will miss those things when she is all grown up. :sad1:

Here is a picture of my "baby" from the parade the other night:

Aw Lars, I didn't mean to make you cry. Being a mom is a rough job isn't it? Sometimes you feel like your heart is ripped out. Alan, tell Mrs. AA that we'll be thinking of her on the first day of school, too.

LK, Leah looks so grown up! What a cute picture.

Cami, glad to hear you are feeling better.

I'm quickly running out of time today, so I apologize for not catching up the way I should... I have lurked and read through everything and how you parents do it, I may never know... :grouphug:

LK, loved the pic!!

We have some rush stuff that needs to get done and the DIS is way slow, so hopefully I have an hour or two tonight to get things done before my dad comes... and Luis told me Dave is coming tomorrow to spend the night so I have some cleaning and all that to do (unless he does it while I am at the concert)

:wave2:
See y'all later!

E - enjoy the concert!

Lenny's sister, her family, and his mom are coming along with us on our trip to WDW. (Please send major ~PD~ my way that they go and do their own thing while we are there! )

Anyway, my SIL tells me this interesting tid-bit she heard: if you stay at a WDW hotel, you can get into the parks early on some days!!!!!! My gosh, I never knew that. I said, "Uh, Kimberly, dear....it's all on my schedule." They are SO uninformed. I am going to kill them with all of my knowledge!!!

LK: :rotfl: :rotfl:

My MIL tells me on Sunday: I heard that you should always have some sort of plan when you go there.....and that you should get one of the ticket things to ride the rides you really want to ride! LOL (she meant fastpass)...... ;)

told her: OK....got it! I'll remember that!;)

I am going with the attitude though...that this trip is for them and for my kids and a chance for my kids to remember this time with their grandparents........that's my plan at least.....someone remind me of that when I am ready to lose it down there! LOL!

I read thru all of the emotional stuff on here today but there's no time for crying here....putting all the back to school stuff on hold till I get back!::yes:: ;) :D  for everyone who needs one though!

off to pack some more stuff......:wave2:

Donna - I am ROFLMAO at your comeback to her. How about we get our inlaws to hang out together and then we can go off on our own?

I sure didn't mean to bring everyone down....being a mom is hard and it's not helping that the dr has messed with my thyroid meds, wooo hoooooooo roller coaster time!

anyway thanks again for making me smile!:grouphug:

E! Have a great time at the concert!!! about the no skipping thing, ditto!

Lars & Mike re: the multi post thing.....E is exactly right .....I'm lazy guilty as charged. I open my dis page to the angels then click ..file,, new... window so I now have 2 windows open on the same spot. Then when I find something I want to reply to I hit quote on one and reply on the other cut and paste then hit the back button and go to the next post. I leave the reply window on reply. The other way you can do it is to just copy the quote hit back and paste it on the next quote, that way you don't have to juggle 2 windows. The only problem with the 2nd way is on a long post it can drive ya crazy if you forget to copy the new post before you hit back..... Hope that helps! :)

Loved the pic LK ! It must be wonderful having a daughter :)
not that I don't love having a son yadda yadda , you know what I mean! lol

ROTF @ the news flash on early hours and fast passes... thanks guys I am so glad I belong to the dis!! hee hee.....I loved taking the noobs last May....they were impressed by my vast knowledge of the kingdom (and trust me that doesn't happen often) lol I'm way excited for you guys!!!

Bethany.....how long are you going to be in Texas....I'm thinking of making a trip down next weekend (13th)......my mom is going and I might tag along.....I'll be in FT Worth if I go.

MP at this point I'd hang on to your stuff.....it could come in handy as a grammie...thinking about that taking one if someone offered thing myself lately....

anyways I'm going to go round up some dirty clothes and wrangle them into the washing machine.
