I'm glad you people are SOOOOOOO amused by picnic frenzy and rain threat................... ;)

:teeth:

I am being tormented right now....the sun is out and shining but very hot and humid! ....not a cloud in the sky......I know as soon as I move everything outside it will start to pour and storm!

what to do ....what to do!:scratchin :scratchin

LOL!

Elaine ....feel free to come here too....I have enough food for an army.....

anyone else? LOL

ooops....running now! LOL!;)

psssst.....Donna.......only three more hours......

E - We'll be looking for you!

My neighbors just got back from Disney last Monday. They were there the previous week and said it was very hot and crowded. They did a fast pass for one ride at 10:30 in the morning, and the pass said to come back at 6:30!

Donna - do you keep sneaking on the computer! I can just picture Dan peeking around the corner..........:)

Just got done making the stuffed shells and brownies. We probably won't leave until 3.

I think Brian is trying to cause trouble today :o

Lorraine, I'm almost there :p

Actually I went to the grocery store and gave up on trying to find something to make for myself so I just got a California Kitchen Pizza to make. After that I decided to make lemon squares for tomorrow :)

I haven't decided if I am going to clean or call my friend Josh to let him know I will show up today for the cookout (but it is rainy and humid... cleaning is almost more desirable :p)

I think Brian is trying to make 600 posts today!;) :D

but remember, dear, pay back...........::yes:: ;)

:wave2:

He is awfully close!!!!!

If you want Brian, I could give you a couple thousand of mine :p

pssstttt......Donna..........one more hour......got everything ready?

If you're all ready, can I come over now? ;)

DH and I went shopping at a few stores today. Much easier going without the kids. I got three pairs of shorts at one store, and bought two more tank tops at TDS. Since Sandi said her store closed, I'm worried about the one close to us closing. :(

Have a happy and safe 4th everyone!

BTW, Steph, I do remember that horrible story from last year about the dad kidnapping his children. I think one of the places they were spotted was about an hour or so north of here. :(

We went to a parade in a neighboring town today. It was 2 hours long and quite nice. Lots of bands and floats and firetrucks. I haven't been to a parade in quite a few years and there is what I found to be an annoying occurance that is new since the last parade I attended. We arrived an hour before the parade was to begin and started walking from the beginning towards the end of the parade route. EVERYWHERE along the curb was staked out by string or yellow tape. Apparently people started as early as MONDAY staking out their plot of land. We had a hard time getting a place to watch. Does this happen everywhere now? I wouldn't mind if people got there today and one person sat and saved places but this was blocks and blocks of taped off sections with no one there yet. I didn't want to start something but it was irritating. Maybe I am just becoming an old fogey.

BTW, how is the party going Donna?

I hope y'all are having a great day! I wound up stopping at my dad's for a while. I did go over because he said he had some corner brackets because all the stores I went to that were open didn't have any. He told me earlier that he had some so while I was there, he showed me some Alaska pictures and movies.
Now I get to try to completely fix the drawer and then work on making lemon squares for tomorrow.

Carol, I thought my area was bad (they've been blocking off sections since Weds)!!! We have that same trouble here. We almost bought a house on the parade route and sometimes I wish I had done that as it would have made viewing so much easier :p I'm not sure if I am going to go to the parade tomorrow or not.

Evening Everyone who's still around....
Got the boys off to camp...and it's awfully quiet around here...:) Meg and I stopped at McDonald's on the way home for a late lunch/early dinner...and she was in heaven because we went inside to eat.....**wake up call...Mom needs to slow down**
When I arrived home, I found that my parents had installed a brand new A/C unit in my dining room......awww....I have the best parents in the whole wide world.

I don't have any of the RPDE pics to show you yet, but I did come across this photo. One of my favorite 4th of July photos ever...taken 2 years ago today!!!

Steph, that is an adorable picture!! I love it :)

Teeny vent... someone remind me not to get my husband tools, especially ones *I* want! I couldn't find his drill, so I called him up to ask him where it was (I was too creeped out by crawly thingies in the basement to dig further), and he had no clue. So finally I find his drill. Inside was my hammer I was missing, as well as several screw drivers, a scratch awl, a tape measurer that I have been looking for forever and a few other things. Of course the one thing I *needed* was the phillips bit... guess what isn't in there  Of course now it is far too late in the night to do anything and I don't feel like bugging my dad to see if I can borrow his.

I guess it will wait until Monday night... I guess I'm just tired of waiting for him to do things that he promises to do.

vent over

Goodness E! that sounds like a normal day at my house...the only difference is when I call Neil at work...the response I get to my question is "What do you need ____insert name of tool____ for?"

That conversation is usually followed by my DH telling me I don't have any of my own tools.....to which I sweetly reply "they all belong to me when you're not home"

Steph, I got drawn to that pic, and I didn't notice how your parents installed the A/C unit for you. That is so so sweet!!!

I lol @ your situation at home. Usually what happens at my house is that I ask Luis to do something, and *if* he finally gets around to it he sits and acts clueless on what he is doing. Then I step in to help and he brushes me off... eventually somehow I get into the picture enough to suggest to him how to do it and he gets it done right. Or my dad eventually comes over and helps me if needed. I love him to death but I don't think his dad ever taught him anything about fixing things at the home or anything with cars. I just remembered a couple more things I could do tonight with his tools while he isn't home though so I suppose I'll fix up the doors that are sticking :teeth:

I just got back from a great party at Donna's house. Got to meet her parents, and THAT explains a LOT! ;) Just kidding!!! LY/MI Donna! Everyone was very nice, even though they did look at us a little strangely as we pointed out the Hidden Mickeys and various other WDW related items in all of the fireworks.

Thankfully the rain held off and it was a beautiful night. Thanks Donna!

Now it's time to say goodbye,
to all our family....
