Angelrose's Journey

My DH, the light of my life is in a coma. He fell and hit his head on Monday. He said he really saw stars and was done working for the day. He went through the basement and took off his work clothes, went upstairs and got a shower. He even used his squeegee to clean the shower. He was trying to make it to bed when he fell. I was downstairs making his lunch and didn't hear him fall. I finally went upstairs about 10 minutes later to find him unconscious on the floor. We got him to the trauma unit and the dr told me they needed to get him into surgery immediately to get out the blood from the subdural hematoma. Everything went well.

He can follow commands, like squeeze my hand but he just hasn't opened his eyes yet.

Please pray that he does soon. He is in great shape for his age (73) So that is in his favor. We have been married 44 years this July. I NEED him to be OK.

Thanks.

Pray he gets well soon:hug:

Thanks for the hugs *NikkiBell*. I can always use them.

Julie, you sure have been busy with the new house. I hope you can get all the maintenance done without too much trouble.

The party was a lot of fun. Those kids give me such joy. I just wish Ron was here to enjoy them with me. He would be so over the moon playing with them. I know he is watching over them.

Thanks for the prayers canopynut66. They are most welcome.

Hi Ladies! It's been a busy weekend, we sent to see Toby Keith again last Friday, in Camden, NJ. The show was incredible!!

Julie, hope they had fun at the wedding! Angel, those kids will keep you young forever!

I have my first colonoscopy tomorrow, liquid diet today :sad2:

I'll let you know how it goes.

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow snappyd. When I had mine done a few years ago, it was a big nothing. I just took a nice nap. When I woke up I was ready to go home. No problem at all. I'm sure yours will be the same.

I went to Jesse's daycare yesterday for Grandparents day Brunch. But first I had to babysit for my little princess. She has a cold and wasn't feeling well. Chuck stayed home because he had it too. He worked from home while I watched Zoey. I hate to see her so unhappy. But I kept her occupied and got a few laughs out of her. Chuck got an appointment at the drs while I went to the brunch. Jesse was so glad to see me again. That always makes me feel good. We had some cookies and I had half a bagel with cream cheese. I got there at 10:35 and by 11 they were telling us the door was "that a way". :rotfl: We did get to make something together. It was the letter "A". We got to paste pink pieces of paper all along the lines of a big capital "A". It is now in a place of honor on my fridge.

I went back to watch Zoey. Chuck came back from the dr a few minutes after I got there. It's just a bad cold with a cough. I stayed until Karen came home at 4:30. Jesse wanted me to play with him, but I wanted to get home. I read him a story. "Red Fish, Blue Fish". I read that story sooooooo many times to Chuck when he was small. Now I'm doing the same with Jesse.

I thought I would jump in the pool for a half hour when I got home at 5. But there was no way I had the energy to do that. So I waved to my pool and went inside. Made a quick dinner and vegged the rest of the night.

This was at his daycare, right after he had eaten his two cookies.

He was saying "cheese". OMG I still look like a whale. Just a slightly smaller version. Maybe next year I'll look the way I want.

snappyd, how did everything go? We haven't heard from you and I'm getting worried.

I thought I would post a couple of First Birthday pictures of our little Zoey Lynn.

and this is my favorite. Something just tickled her fancy and she started laughing and the photographer caught it.

I did catch a cold from little Zoey, but I'm on the road to recovery. I still have to call the pool man tomorrow to come and close it down. There is no way I'm getting into 68 degree water! :scared1:

Karen did get our vacation home rented for our February vacation. This is where we are staying.

http://vacationbythemouse.com/index.php?com=properties&action=infopage&id=190&pid=

Now I have to think of a catchy title for my trip report. I do have a few months to think on that.

ooooh....that vacation home looks nice, Angelrose!

It's hotter'n blazes here lately. So far, the A/C is holding up.

I'll have my new kitchen by Thanksgiving! (if not, all 22 of us will be eating at my contractor's house!)

So sorry you caught "the cold". Hope you're feeling better now.

Mary they are so adorable!

What are your February dates?

Snapppyd how did the colonoscopy go? I had my first one 2 years ago. The prep is the worst part, at least I thought so.

Thanks you Julie and Michelle. I have been stuck not losing weight for about a month now. I gained a pound back. Not happy about that. But I'll keep trying.

I am feeling better today. Still don't have any energy. I just want to sleep all day. I feel like slug. The weather has been so rainy and dreary that I can't even think about going for a walk. Pool isn't an option either. I called my pool man and just have to wait for him to let me know when he can fit me in.

I love the look of our vacation home too. I can't wait to go.

Chell, the dates our February 3 to the 12th. We arrive Friday the 3rd and leave on Sunday the 12th. No parks either of those days. When we arrive, we are just going to unpack and get the kids down for a nap and maybe us too. Maybe a swim after that and then dinner and shopping at DTD. The kids will be driving down and I will be flying down. I will get that half hour grocery run from Tiffany town car after they pick me up. I want to get some sensible food for when we don't eat out.

I have all this worked out already! It's only 134 more days! :rotfl: I am not a bit excited. Nope, not a bit. :woohoo: :yay:

You're welcome. Don't get discouraged by not loosing anything right now. It happens to everyone. Stick with it and you will be loosing more again before you know it.

Dang it! We arrive Feb. 24. I was crossing my fingers that we would finally get to meet.

Do you have the crud? I do. Monday & Tuesday I stayed home from work. Today my boss wouldn't let me stay until my usual time. Lately I've been working until about 8 or 8:30 every day. Today at 6 she told me to head on home.

Hope you feel better soon! It is raining here and makes it all blah.

No need to be excited. ;) I'm the same way. :rolleyes1

I think I must have had the flu. I had a sore throat and a fever to start and then the head cold. I just HATE being so tired all the time. I'm used to being a tad more active.

I'm not giving up on losing weight. I just have to find what I'm doing wrong. I guess I'll have to take my trackers in to my leader to have her help me.

I bet you aren't doing anything wrong. I'm sure it's just that spot that everyone hits. A friend at work recently hit that wall and is back on track loosing now after about 2-3 months of no loss.

Hope you are back to 100% soon!

Did I tell you we have expanded our family again? I'm sure I told you about Cosmo, who we got last winter. A few months ago we got another cat too, Star. She was being picked on & bullied by the other cats. On top of that she had been down for about a year since she lost her first litter. I think she had 4 kittens and none made it. As soon as I saw her I was sucked in! She looks a lot like Luna.

We now have 3 dogs and 3 cats. Yeah, I know we're crazy but they are our babies. :goodvibes

Well congratulations on your new fur baby Star. I will expect a picture of her soon. I hope she gets out of her depression. Poor little thing. I'm sure with all your loving she will be fine in no time.

Sorry I haven't posted; this thread keeps dropping a few pages and I need to go to my user CP to find us!

Angel, hope you are now feeling better. The colonoscopy was easy, as others have told me, the prep is the worst part. I have to go back in a couple of weeks for a laser treatment, no big deal.

This weeks problem is an infected tooth. I take good care of my teeth, but an old root canal decided to act up when I bit down on a crown last week. (A tooth crown, not a princess, LOL!). I'm taking antibiotics and finally getting a little relief after over a week. I found out I'm allergic to codeine :scared1:

The weather is so awful lately, does nothing to help my mood.

I'm going to make a lemon poppy seed bread now, I'm hoping the smell will cheer me up!

Oh snappyd, I'm so glad that everything turned out alright with your colonoscopy.

I always bookmark the last page, just in case it gets deleted somehow.

I am feeling better now. I just have to get through the echo cardiogram on Thursday. I hope they will give me a hint about what they find. I'm hoping this heart murmur isn't anything serious. I have a feeling they will make me wait a week until I get back to my regular dr.

Friday I get to babysit Jesse while Karen takes Zoey in for her checkup. Jesse is just getting a shot and then we can play while Zoey is being taken care of. After that I get to play with them both while Karen is working out at the gym. They have a play room for the kids so we won't get in anyone's way.

A few hours with my grandbabies. What could be better?

Glad you are feeling better! Is the heart murmur something new? I've had a mitral valve prolapse for years; it's not serious. Hopefully yours will be nothing too!

We will be making an appointment to have our sprinkler system winterized soon  I can't believe summer is over; but it's true because I only had one hummingbird last weekend. During the summer we had around 20.

I usually love the fall; but the weather is just so depressing lately. We need some nice crisp fresh air to revive us!

My poppy seed bread was pretty good, but I know what to do differently next time. Needed more lemon.

Have a great day everyone! :flower3:

Yes the heart murmur is something new. He found it in May but I thought it was because I was dehydrated from taking a laxative. It was still there when I went this week. I don't feel bad or anything so I'm not worried. I figured it was just old age creeping up on me. LOL

I'm getting that done tomorrow. And Karen asked if I would babysit while they have dinner and some shopping. YIPPEE!!

Then on Saturday we will meet at the Smithville Octoberfest and have lunch at the Greek booth. YUMMMMMM

Sunday we are going apple and pumpkin picking. A very full weekend.

Here is what Karen has planned for one night on our vacation.

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/tours-and-experiences/pirates-and-pals-fireworks-voyage/

Jesse will be in 7th heaven with this. He is all about pirates right now.

Next week I will be making my plane reservations and Tiffany towncar to pick me up and get me back to the airport when we leave. I am so excited.

Only 127 more days.

Wow Mary, that fireworks cruise looks totally awesome! :cool1::thumbsup2
You are going to have such a wonderful time! Sounds like a big weekend also.

Our 30th wedding anniversay is Monday, this Saturday night we are going to see Southside Johnny at the Surflight Theater on LBI. We used to go see him in the '80's! It's Chowderfest weekend so we might go back on Sundayl :yay:

Yesterday I broke out in a rash on my stomach and chest; turns out the pharmacist labeled my prescription wrong, I've been taking twice as much
antibiotic as I should :scared1: The tooth has almost stopped hurting, I'll have to find out if the root canal needs to be redone. :guilty:

I hope you will be OK! OMG that is so dangerous to have the wrong dosage of any drug.

I stopped to see Karen this morning before my echo. We talked about our Disney vacation of course. We will be spending one day at Universal and one day at Legoland. That is a new theme park with kiddie rides with Lego decorations. The rest of the time we will be at Disney. We talked about our schedule and where we were going to eat and what day at what park. The only park we won't be going to is Animal Kingdom. I won't miss that. There isn't that much there for us except the Lion King show. We saw that the last time and the Nemo show. I think the next time we go the kids will be older and will appreciate it more.

There is also a change in our vacation home. The one she had picked before was already rented, so she got this one.

http://vacationbythemouse.com/index.php?com=properties&action=infopage&id=41&pid=

The best part is that it is a bit cheaper than the first one. More souvenir money!

I only lost .2 this week, but I will take it. As long as I can keep losing I will be happy.

After visiting with Karen I went to get my echo done. I noticed it was getting darker when I walked in, but didn't bring in my umbrella. (Insert sinister music here)

After my echo I walked to the front door and it was POURING pitchforks and pomegranits. One woman said she was going to wait it out. Yeah, I don't think so. By the time I wait it out, it could be 4pm. So I ran out with my purse on my head and got to my car in about 20 seconds. I was drenched.

All except for the front of my hair that was covered by my purse. Driving home was a nightmare. I could only see about 10 feet in front of me. It was like driving in a lake. But I did make it home safely and soggy. That took about almost a half hour when it's only a 15 minute drive.

I ran in, got my sopping clothes off, dried my hair, got on my jammies and it had already stopped raining. The rest of the day was beautiful and by the time I went out for my WW meeting the humidity had gone down a lot.

So now I am looking forward to babysitting tomorrow and the rest of our fun weekend.

I could have sworn I had answered you! That house looks great and I love the Pirate cruise! Jesse will be so happy! I'm off for a couple of days, Monday is our 30th anniversary so DH took the day off. Have a great weekend! :flower3:
