Angelrose's Journey

It is so much easier if you have never developed a taste for certain foods. Glad she got diagnosed with her allergy so easily. My egg allergy took from July - May for the doctors to figure out. They said it was nerves and panic attacks. I told them that my throat was closing and I felt like I couldn't breathe. I told them there was a definite order to how things happened. First of all my throat would feel tight then I would feel like my air was restricted. Finally I got in with all allergist. On a scale of 0 - 5 my egg allergy came back a 5+. I'm also allergic to fish, shellfish, melons, milk, mold, citrus, grapes, bananas and something else I'm leaving out. I know I'm forgetting something. Now I can't have gluten on top of all that.

The other day at work my friend emailed me to tell me there was a fruit basked in the kitchen at work. She knew I couldn't have any of the other goodies that had arrived. The only fruit in the basket that I could have was an apple. :sad2:

Yeah, I agree that all the junk they put on and in our food has a lot to do with the allergies. They need to leave it alone and let it be. Stop messing with the genetic makeup of the food too!

We didn't get all of the extra snow last night. We had about 7 - 8 inches of snow total. That's pretty darn good for here. That's the most snow I've seen since '98. I was in the mountains then and we had 3 feet that year.

I hope your husband doesn't have to go off to any of the storm areas and I hope he is home for Christmas!!!

Yes, I know what you mean about feeling out of whack when your routine is off. It does throw you off. You will make it through all of this so much stronger. Your family will be stronger and so much closer too!

Someone was talking about a front in Florida that brought the temps down. I hope it isn't too cool for Angelrose and her family.

I'm excited to see what the weather is going to be like for our trip. This morning I even got up early for a Saturday because I started thinking about the trip & couldn't go back to sleep.

Hopefully you can still make your trip work out! We can help you plan it and make the most out of your money!!! :thumbsup2

It is so true about already developing a taste for certain food. chell, you are far more limited than I - feel bad for you. I'm allergic to all fish, garlic, pepper and any seasoning other than salt. I cannot ever try a new food, so meals must be pain and simple - can be challenge sometimes b/c restaurants add all kinds of seasoning to everything. Carry an EpiPen at all times (well, most times anyway. lol). To keep things interesting, have MS - ain't life fun! Seriously, I've absolutely not a single complaint ..life is excellent! :thumbsup2

Hoping the break in the heat will be enjoyable for Angelrose and her family - this time of year Disney is extra special when it's in the 60's -feels Christmasy, but not cold. Today is her last day - her flight leaves tomorrow at 8:35 a.m. Sure looking forward to having her back with us and hear all about her trip. :goodvibes

Be safe everyone! Sun is popping in and out here, so ice beginning to melt - still very dangerous out there.

You are allergic to garlic and pepper? :scared1: Those are some allergies I don't ever want. I LOVE my seasonings. You poor woman!

I also hope they are enjoying the break in the heat. I hope it isn't too cool for them.

The temps are enough to make us have some snow melt here too. Tonight it will all refreeze though. Tomorrow morning will be rough. I hope by Monday morning the roads will be clear enough that it won't be dangerous to drive to work.

Hope you had a wonderful visit and getting some rest tonight. Will look forward to hearing all about it and seeing lots of pics.

Welcome back! You've been missed.

HI EVERYONE! I am back from a wonderful trip. A few mishaps, but nothing serious. Our first three days were so hot and humid. We did stop in the middle of the 3rd day for a swim in the Fantasia pool and then went back at night. What fun that was. Jesse played in the kiddie pool for about 5 minutes and then wanted to come in the big pool. He was so good. Daddy took him right under the sprays and he laughed. Then it was granma's turn. I took him in the shallow part and jumped up and down with him, saying WHOOP DE DOO. He parroted me. Every time we jumped he would say WHOOP DE DOO. When it was daddy's turn again, he had to say the same thing. It was very funny. The next few days were much cooler and more enjoyable. Jesse loved the characters and the shows and rides. He just fussed waiting in line. But then so do I. LOL Karen and I had a wonderful high tea. Here is a picture of me she took. I was being very snooty with my pinkies in the air.

Here is me in my scooter

ry%3D400

My perfect driving record on the scooter was broken by a woman who decided it was a good idea to walk directly in front of my moving scooter and then was amazed when I hit her. She said something quite unlady like. I was soooooooooo full of concern for her. The lady in back of me said "she walked right in front of you." I said, "I know", and we both laughed. The woman was still muttering about me and Karen told her to just get ahead of us since we wanted to be together. I wanted to tell her something else, but then again, I am a mean old lady and Karen is a sweetheart.

I will post more pictures when I get them. I will start working on my trip report tomorrow.

I came home to find we had two feet of snow. Oh GOODY! I was so worried about getting into my driveway. My dear sweet neighbor across the street did my whole driveway with his snowblower. I have a very long driveway and it must have taken him hours to do. I had to do some fancy climbing to get from the driveway onto my back porch but I made it. Chuck is coming over tomorrow to bring me my luggage and shovel a path. I will try and do some tomorrow morning too.

Hi, Angelrose!!! LOVE the pics of you!! Very classy at the high tea - I've done that too...yummy! What did you order?

How did you like ASMovies? Has it finally be refurbished, I hope? I'd heard terrible reviews and was so worried your rooms would not be in good shape.

Do get some rest tonight...oh! We even had snow here in NC - both chell and I - she had a bit more, but we had a lot for here.

Missed you! So glad you are home safe and sound.

Welcome home. SOunds like ya'll had a great trip!!! I bet that litlle Jesses had a ball. Can't wait to see more pics and hear all about your trip.

Oh, Dh had to leave Saturday afternoon to work in West Virginia on storm. Looks like there's no way he'll make it home for Christmas. :sad1: It just won't be the same without him. We're going to record it for him and save the family gifts until he comes home. Santa will be coming as usual, of course. I hate that he won't be here, and I'm missing him already but the extra $$ will really help DH improve his state of mind about money worries. We can pay off his 401K loan, save some and *fingers crossed* pay off at LEAST half of our WDW trip. So it looks like October WILL be a go. So it's bittersweet having hime gone. Hope everyone's doing well and that the snow has abaated enough for life to go back to normal for ya'll.

Hi Christine. I liked the AS movies ok but it certainly isn't the Poly. First of all they didn't honor our request for connecting rooms. They at first put Karen and Chuck in a different building than me. When Karen told them that was unacceptable they did put her on the same ground floor as me but a few doors down. Not what we had hoped for, but manageable. Then the next to last day there, my key card wouldn't let me in. So went down to the front desk and got a new card. That didn't work either. So they sent up a maintenance man to give the magnetic lock a charge. By a miracle he got me in the room. He told me that by tomorrow noon, it would all be replaced. Right. I tried my door and couldn't get in. After Karen called to ask why it hadn't been fixed, they gave the old story of "Oh there must have been lots of problems for him to fix." Really? So they sent to people from the front desk to try the same thing the man did last night. The took my card and tried. Like I didn't know how to use the card?? Surprise, it didn't work. So they tried the charge and I was able to get into my room again. This time they sent someone who know what she was doing. She took out the whole lock because the parts were from the year one and were dead. She asked me how I was doing and I told her I was NOT happy. I told her the whole story of the rooms and I started to shake and cry. I'm sorry but I seem to do that whenever I get stressed at all now, since Ron passed. She felt so bad for me that she asked who my favorite character was and when I said Tinkerbell, she gave me a beautiful Tink pin. I thought that was so sweet of her. Later when we checked out, they did give me a $75 credit for my troubles.

So to answer your question, the room was OK. I didn't get the king bed I wanted, but two doubles. I had to worry each night that I was going to fall off. LOL The housekeeping was great. But I think the next time we go, we may try off site and get a two room suite. But that is 3 or 4 years away.

Going to head off to bed night. Goodnight and sweet dreams everyone.

OOPPS I forgot, you asked what we ordered at the high tea. We both ordered the Buckingham tea. She got the peppermint tea I think was called Harmony and I got the Princess breakfast tea. When they gave us the sandwiches, I told them I couldn't eat the shrimp salad. She immediately took my plate back and gave me two egg salad sandwiches instead. We both loved that the best. We also LOVED the little onion tart. We could have eaten 10 of those! We also liked the cucumber and watercress sandwich. I liked the chicken salad but Karen didn't. The both hated the pear and gorgonzola sandwich. ICK! Karen chose an eclair and carrot cake and I chose the raspberry swan and the fruit cake. Nobody likes the poor fruitcake and it was amazing! It had almond paste in it. YUM! We both finished our pots of tea. (We made a lot of potty stops that afternoon). We will definitely be doing this tea again the next time we go.

After my telling them about my allergy to shellfish, the asked each table if they had any allergies.

ksumn1 I'm sorry hour DH won't be with you for Christmas. But it does have it's advantages with the extra money.

I wanted to tell you all that I did feel Ron with me during our vacation. I'm sure he was laughing with me at Jesse antics and the way he enjoyed the characters.

Because of our schedules, I didn't see any of our friends to tell them of Ron's passing. Maybe the next time we go I will be able to find them.

OK really going to bed now.

Glad you had a good trip. I'm sorry I didn't contact you before I left to go to WDW. I only knew where we were eating some days. When you're traveling with 3 other adults, it's not so easy to get a consensus on where to go when. We had a wonderful time too. But I wasn't ready for the humidity! And fog! what's up with that?! (although it made us feel right at home, living near San Francisco!)

Ready to hear more & see more pix! - but g'night for now!

Ooh, I'm so happy to see/hear this!!! I thought about you every single day! I kept praying for things to be going well for you, for you not to be too sad and for you to have great weather.

Welcome back!!! We missed you but we knew you were off having fun.

Someone from work just got back today and I told him you were there. Like he knows you or anything. But I had to tell him my friend was there. :thumbsup2

My eyes say let me go to sleep but once I get in bed my body says NO. UGH! I have to be up for work in 7 hours. My body is one of those that needs at least 8 hours, if not more. **sigh**

I had 3 steroid injections today and after trying to go to sleep for 90 minutes I realized that must be why I couldn't go to sleep. So I decided I'd come in here until my body just falls over.

After my torture session with the PA today I went and got a perm. I look like a poodle. I wanted a little curl. Lately after I wash some of the curl comes out. Watch it all stay this time.

I love your high tea picture! I may have to check into that. We will have a couple of free days next June and I think I may take my Mom. I can't wait to hear about your trip. And to see all the pictures.

Welcome home Angelrose :flower3:! Love the tea photo, so glad you had a nice vacation with your lovely family and sweet little DGS making special memories. :lovestruc
Sending hugs and prayers you enjoy the holidays with your loved ones. :goodvibes

Gee I wonder why the high tea picture didn't post. Let me try once more.

Very nice picture. Glad you had a good vacation with your family. I think of you often and hope you Christmas is Merry.

Angelrose I hope you are settling back into the real world nicely. We sure did miss you! But I'm glad you had a good time.

strange, I posted yesterday, but it's not here.

reelmom, do check out the high tea at the GF. It was wonderful and a great way to have "girl time".

I got all Jesse's presents wrapped this morning. I can't wait to see him opening them tomorrow. I'm not sure when Chuck is going to pick me up tomorrow. I guess I will find out tomorrow.

I am trying to keep my feelings in check. But last night, while I was watching my favorite muscial Scrooge with Albert Finney, I looked up at our tree and the tears just started to flow. Now tonight I watched the Nutcracker ballet with Baryshnikoff (I know I spelled that wrong, but you know who I mean). I always loved the last part, but this time it made me cry. She lost her prince just like I lost mine.

Tomorrow will be a better day spending it with the kids. I won't have time to think.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and Santa brings you good health and lots of goodies. I am so blessed to have friends like all of you.

Merry Christmas Angelrose!!! You are in my thoughts and prayers. I know this Christmas is going to be difficult. It is to be expected. But remember that Ron is there with you. Also remember how much love we are sending your way! :goodvibes

Tomorrow will be so much fun with Jesse! We had to have our Christmas with my sisters & the boys tonight because they are calling for an ice storm tonight.

Merry Christmas everyone!!!
