Angela & Matthew - Home Wedding 4/25/2009 & Disneymoon - I'm MARRIED!!!!

We just had all the guys either wear a dress shirt or a a gold collared shirt (do you know what I mean) and nice pants, either Khakis or something. I think a shirt and tie might be too dressy but that is just me. And no I don't think those songs are tacky at all.

I have no idea what a gold collered shirt means!

You should decide how "formal" you want your rehearsal to be....Ive been to t shirt and jeans *yes in a church* and then ive been toa dress up rehearsal that wasnt in a church! I personally like informal.......maybe jeans and a polo shirt and i would maybe even wear the same.....the actual wedding day is going to be so formal and scripted, it would be nice to get to relax the night before and enjoy it :) but everyones different!

DF and I are meeting with our DJ on Friday, so I need to finalize my reception music selections!! Here's what we've come up with so far:

Enterance for reception: Welcome to the Jungle by Guns and Roses
Ours is Walk this Way by Aerosmith
Our First Dance: Can't Help Falling in Love by Michael Buble
Can't Help Falling in Love by Elvis
Briday Party Dance: Something About The Way You Look Tonight by Elton John (but I'm open to suggestions for something different)

Father/Daughter Dance: Still don't know... I was thinking the ever so popular Butterfly Kisses or Let Them Be Little by Lonestar. But dad said nothing emotional. So I'm waiting to see what he comes up with. Any ideas for an unemotional father/daughter dance song?
We are doing Hero by Mariah Carey and doing it as a dual Father-Daughter, Mother-Son dance, I will keep thinking on the unemotional song though
Cake Cutting: Ain't That a Kick in the Head by Dean Martin (DF's suggestion... don't love it, but I can't come up with anything else)
Happy Togther by the Turtles, we really liked Pour Some Sugar on Me, but we felt we were already going to scare everyone with Walk this Way
Bouquet Toss: Single Ladies by Beyonce OR the Sex and The City movie theme song
Single Ladies...First Time I heard it, I said to Justin: THIS is the Bouquet Toss, I will not have Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Garter Removal: Let's Get it On by Marvin Gaye (too suggestive??)
Justin is insisting on Can't Touch by MC Hammer, and I am very very scared :lmao:
Garter Toss: Sharp Dressed Man by ZZ Top

Garter on whoever catches bouquet: Like a Virgin by Madonna

Anniversary Dance: Here and Now by Luthar Vandross

Last Dance: I've Had the Time of My Life by Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes (Dirty Dancing!)
SAME THING for us too!
Other "Must Plays"
When I Grow Up - Pussycat Dolls I really like this one, I may have to add it, but I think I have maxed out our must plays...
Lets Get Married (REMIX) - Jagged Edge
Just Dance - Lady Gaga -- This one is on our Must PLay, even though it is SO overplayed
I Wanna Dance With Somebody - Whitney Houston
Dance, Dance - Fall Out Boy
Don't Stop Believin - Journey
Any Britney Spears
Dirty - Christina Aguilera
Sexy Back - Justin Timberlake This is a must play of ours too
Living on a Prayer - Bon Jovi This is on ours too because it is my favorite sing along song, haha
Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy - Big and Rich
Take Me Home Tonight - Eddie Money
Sexual Healing (Max-a-Million Remix) Marvin Gaye

Thoughts and/or suggestions please??:confused3

I swear we have the same reception music, you have very good taste.

I put what we are having under yours in pink so you can see..
I love your choices, however, I am quite biased!

Your wedding is so close!!! :woohoo:

That's awesome!! You definatley have great taste in music!:thumbsup2

Ok, I have NO idea how on earth I have missed your PJ this whole time. I just spent 45 minutes skimming through it though. Sorry to hear about Rocky. I LOVE your table names, that is so cute to put the pics of you two. Your Britney pics are good, how many times did she change!? It looks like she probably spent more time changing than performing! Your Bachelorette party looked like it was a blast! You must be so excited as you're getting so close!

Happy Good Friday! I'm so glad I got the day off work because I got so much done!!!

Last night I went with my cousin/bridesmaid for her dress fitting. She is about 4 months pregnant, and was not pregnant or planning to be when she bought her bridesmaid dress, so of course it needed let out. I also picked up my dress for the rehearsal while I was there! Sorry, I don't have pics! Maybe I'll try it on for you ladies tomorrow.

Today I woke up and had an appt. to get my haircut. I told my hairstylist what I didn't like about my hair trial, and how I wanted it done differently, and she was cool with that! I always get nervous telling people I don't like how they did something, but it's my wedding day and I want my hair to look how I want it to!!

After my haircut, I went to the mall to get some stuff that I need for the wedding. I stopped at the beauty supply store (one of the perks of being a licensed hairstylist) to pick up some shampoo for me and DF. Back to Basics for me and American Crew for DF! I always get the liters, and then they last forever, but I also got smaller bottles to take to Disney so we're not lugging liters of shampoos and conditioners with us.:rotfl:

Then I went to Target to get some Easter gifts for my nephew, Andrew, and to find 3 tier cookie trays for our cookie table at the reception, and I found exactly what I was looking for!

What's a cookie table, you ask?:confused3 It's a Pittsburgh tradition. Here, you wouldn't even think of having a wedding without a cookie table! And they're fabulous!

Next I was off to Macys! Going straight to the MAC counter to buy some wedding makeup sing I'm going the DIY route. The lady did all my makeup, and I LOVED it. Perfect! Of course, I didn't think to take a picture, but I think I may have a makeup DIY "trial" tomorrow to see if I can use everything I bought.

Oh, and just an FYI: MAC is freakin expensive. See everything pictured above? $300!!! But, I justify that in my head by thinking that people spend hundreds - thousands of dollars on a wedding dresses they will wear for 1 day... all this makeup I will use again! I know that doesn't justify it, but whatev's.

Next on my to-do list was to find albums for our parents. I can't believe Things Remembered never got the original one we wanted in... it's been like 2 months! GRR. But anyways, I found this really nice Lenox album for them...

album-1.jpg

It holds 5X7 and 4X6 photos. Of couse though, they only had one, so I had to go to a different mall to get another one!

We met with our DJ. Here's our FINAL song selections. We had a few last minutes changes:

Enterance: Renegade by Styx (DF's last minute request - It's the Pittsburgh Steelers defense intro)

Father/Daughter: Let Them Be Little by Lonestar... My dad's request was Old Macdonald Had a Farm because he thought that was something that wouldn't make him cry.:rotfl: I feel bad, he says he's going to be so embarassed for crying so much!! Like, that's what dad's do at weddings! They cry!!

Cake Cutting: When You Wish Upon a Star by Billy Joel. I was shocked that DF was ok with it! But I think that was because I had just OK'ed renegade.:lmao:

Bouquet Toss: Single Ladies by Beyonce

Anniversary Dance: Remember When by Alan Jackson

Everything else is the same as I posted before! Oh, and woo hoo! Our first vendor paid off!:woohoo:

Ok, so after meeting with our DJ, DF and I headed up to the other mall to pick up the other album. While we were there, DF bought a new shirt and tie for the rehearsal. I told him that he did not have to wear a tie, but he said he wanted to, and I'm kinda glad. He tried it on when we got home and I asked him if I could take a pic of him in it for disboards and he said NO!:rotfl:

We also bought new sunglasses for DISNEY!:cool2:

I'm hoping to get alot of stuff done tomorrow too. I'm going to start printing out place cards, and I want to print out invitations for the rehearsal dinner... nothing fancy, just so everybody knows the whens and wheres! Also, I know I've been saying this for weeks, but I'm going to get out the suitcase and start packing! Yay!

:dance3:Only 2 more weeks to go!:dance3:

Hi and thanks for reading!! Bad news about the table names... DF could not find enough pictures to do our original idea, so we're going to be boring with regular tent style numbered cards. Blah! Britney was awesome! She changed so many times, I can't even count!! There were times she ripped something off and put something on top of it, right on the stage! And yes, the bachelorette party was so fun!! I'm so excited that everything is coming up so quickly!

Angela!!

2 more weeks!!! :woohoo:

I'm so excited for you, MAC is VERY expensive. I'm going to be a DIY make-uper and i was looking into MAC and i can't believe how expensive they are.

Anyway I love the wedding album its very very pretty! IDK what a cookie table is but it sounds yummy!:thumbsup2

YAY! I'm sorry I didn't see your post talking about DJ songs until last night, but it sounds like you've got some great choices!

I also love the stuff I've used from Mac - I swear by their eyeliner, it's the only brand I'll use for that - and most of my eye shadow is from them.

What are your last minute things you have left to do?

I'm so excited for you!!! Discovered any new fun things in your registry stalking (I have to support it, because there's no way I'd be able to resist checking!)

Yay, thanks!!! Yes, MAC is very expensive, but I liked everything she used so I had to get it all! Hopefully I can use everything and it will look as nice as when she did it!! I love the wedding album too! I kinda want one for myself.

Eyeliner is the one thing I did not buy from MAC! I love the eyeliner I use, so I figured I'd just stick with it! I love everything else though!

Hmmm last minute things to do... placecards & favors. Then I have to meet with our cake guy, and I have to talk to the rest of our vendors to finalize everything. I know I'm forgetting something!

No, I actually haven't been checking my registry. I'm not expecting to get much of anything else left on it. I think most people (at least around here) don't really buy gifts for weddings. So looks like I won't be getting the huge cupcake pan. LOL! Did you get your cupcake pan yet??

Actually, I did get something off my registry this week! My cousin who can't make it to the wedding bought us the big cooler and a set of kitchen aid mixing bowls!! She also sent a pair of PJ's for my little Oliver, he looks so freakin cute!:dogdance::

Here he is modeling his new jammies:
