Angela & Matthew - Home Wedding 4/25/2009 & Disneymoon - I'm MARRIED!!!!

One must do counter service is Cosmic Rays in MK! You get the most for your money and it is really good. And they have a topping bar with cheese sauce for the fries! I liked Pizza Planet at HS, I mean it was nothing really special but I liked it. Sunshine Seasons is another good one in the Land at Epcot. Flame Tree BBQ at Animal Kingdom. I tried to give you one at each park.

For snacks, you need to try a dole whip! I just got the plain pineapple one (not the float or anything) and it was really good. You can use snack credits at Goofy's in downtown disney and you can make your own rice crispy treat, pretzels, or marshmallows that come on a mickey straw. You can use a snack on pretty much anything $4 or less. I am so excited it is so close!

Thanks, Nancy! I didn't know the snack limit was up to $4! That's good to know!:thumbsup2

I will have to look up menus for these places! They sound fabulous! Do you usually include counter service meals in your itinerary? Or do you usually just wing it?

I'm trying to plan so that I remember to do everything I want to do, but I don't want to over plan and feel like I have a schedule I need to stick to!

This Disney Vacation Planning stuff is HARD! I'm so glad I found disboards!!:grouphug:

Yeah that snack is supposed to be up to $4. I usually don't plan the counter services we just wing it for which ever park we are at for the day. But we ate at cosmic rays on our honeymoon and both said this is a must for every trip. Just see what you are in the mood for those days because now you may want a burger but that day you may be in the mood for pizza.

LOL, it is hard! When we went in October '06 we didn't plan anything! I know:eek: The only ADR we had was for Cinderella's royal table for dinner. We didn't even use the dining plan and didn't know anything about it. We had so much fun though on that trip. But now I could never have a trip with out the dining plan.

Angela you are so close!! How exciting that you are getting your cake and marriage license! I can't wait to hear all the fun details about the cake! (I know I'm a cake freak :lmao:)

11 Days!! So exciting!!!

My fave counter serve is Wolfgang Puck Express in DTD. The food is absolutley excellent. You order inside and then sit outside (or I inside if you want) and they bring it out to you. All the food there is amazingly good quality and flavorful. Oh and the Creme Brule dessert to die for! My DP lunch there was about $24-25 per person, so you get amazing value too!

And if you have any left over CS meals at the end of your trip like we did on the last day we went to EOS in DTS and got sandwichs to take to the airport. They traveled very well (I got a BLT and just asked for mayo on the side) and were very yummy!

Oh and a dole whip is a must! It is a fab snack on a hot day:goodvibes

I remember seeing a thread that marks what counts as a snack at all the different places around Disney, and I believe at some of the carts/bakeries/gift shops, there's a little icon next to certain things that mark if they count as a snack on the dining plan.

The main ones I keep hearing about that I would do are school bread in Epcot, the Dole Whip, and getting either the create your own pretzel rods or rice krispie treat thing from Goofy's Candy Company

I personally thought the Sweetheart Dinner was a waste of money! You get less choices off the menu.....it costs more than a regular dinner would and the souveneir is toasting glasses which you already have personalized ones from the wedding!! Ill make my own sweet heart dinner :) One of the snacks i HAVE to hit is Goofy's Candy.....and I really want a cream cheese pretzel LOL! I hope you have so much fun...I'm entirely way too jealous that you get to go to Disney before me!!

Thanks for the suggestions! I need to make a list of all these places! I didn't know Wolfgang Puck had a counter service place! They have a regular restaurant too, right? Or am I thinking of something else?

Good idea about bringing sandwiches for the airport!!

Ahh, everyone's saying the Dole Whip! I will definately have to get one!!:)

Awesome, thanks!!

Thanks, you've made up my mind for me!:rotfl: I am going to call and cancel tomorrow. I just really hope nobody ends up reporting back that it was so awesome and then I'll be kicking myself for not doing it.:headache: But your right, I don't know the souvenier toasting glasses! And if they want people to do it, they should give out more info about it!!

I got some really good news tonight! But you need to hear the bad to appreciate the good...

My dad called me at work this afternoon to tell me my grandma broke a bone in her back and had to have back surgery on Thursday. I was so upset to hear that, and I know this is very selfish, but one of the first things I thought was that she wasn't going to be able to make it to the wedding, and my dad said more than likely she won't be able to be there.:guilty: I was so upset all afternoon, and my dad left work and went to the hospital to see her. Well, later on in the evening after talking to her doctor, he called me to tell me that it's not really a "surgery" but more of a procedure to heal the fractured bone in her back. He said that some patients that have this procedure are up and walking around an hour later with no pain. My grandma is 90 year old, I'm not expecting her to recover that quickly, but he said that she should be able to make it to the wedding!! I'm so happy, and my dad said my grandma is so happy that she'll be able to make it! So I'm praying for a speedy recovery for her!

Here's a pic of me and Gram from Christmas Eve:

She's the sweetest lady ever!:lovestruc

Next up is the CAKE!:woohoo: We went back this evening to meet with our cake guy again to finalize everything. Funfetti cake, with buttercream icing, hot pink fondant stripes, and light pink fondant flowers! Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of our cake because I picked it out of his book, but I found these pics online to kind've give you an idea...

Funfetti... yum! This is the ONLY wedding detail that I had planned before I was even engaged... I knew I wanted a funfetti cake! It's my FAVORITE!!!

The cake will look something like this:

I gave him a piece of material from my bridesmaid dresses, so he's going to match up the color for the stripes. Then it will have little fondant daisy's all over it!

You like?

Yay! Angela 10 days until the big day!!!!! It seems like it was just a month away and now you are sooo close. I love your idea of cutting your shirt off. It's almost like trash the dress but just trash the shirt. :rotfl2: I mean you're right who plans on being a Future Mrs. again. :goodvibes Plus that is a great deal to pass up!

I'm so glad that your grandma will be able to make the wedding. I'm going to keep her in my prayers. And just tell her to take it easy.

I have three words for you. I LOVE FUNFETTI! :thumbsup2 I think you are genius for doing this. That is one of those things that I have loved since I was a kid and I totally wish I could do it. I'm gonna talk to DF and then maybe ask the bakery if they do it. And you cake is beautiful. I love the stripes and I know with the floral it is going to be beautiful!

The cake sounds sooo great! :lovestruc I do not think I know or have heard of anyone having a funfetti wedding cake! :thumbsup2 I love it! Thinking about cake, I am now regretting my choice to skip breakfast this morning. If only I could be at home watching Marie Antoinette and having breakfast. :cutie:

I am sorry about your grandmother. I hope she gets better soon and is able to make it. Prayers and pixie dust! :wizard:

Yes the do have a CS place on the marketplace side (right next to the christmas shop and mickeys pantry) it is a nice quiet spot and the food is to die for!

OK, now your funfetti cake! Awesome!! Dave made me a round funfetti cake this year for my birthday, and 2 smaller round cakes as ears to make a Mickey Cake for me! Poor guy it took him 6 hours because he is in no way a baker... amazing cook, but a baker he is not lol!

The pink and the flowers will look amazing on the cake, I can't wait to see a picture of it when you get back! Only 10 days!!! Just think tomorrow you will be int eh single digits:thumbsup2

OMG your "cake" is so pretty. I love the funfetti idea. Ours is just different shapes and flavors because I am horribly indecisive. YAY almost 1 week to go. You are gonna have a blast!!!!:cool1:

I know, the past month has totally flown by!!! Hahaha, it is like a trash the shirt!:rotfl: Thank you for the prayers for my grandma.:flower3:

I am so excited for the funfetti cake! Before I found my cake guy, I actually looked into a different bakery, and they would not make a funfetti cake!! Whatev's they lost some business! But if your DF approves of the funfetti cake, then hopefully your bakery will do it!

I love your cake, I can't wait to eat it!

Thanks! I know, it's going to be sooo yummy!!!

I will definately have to try their CS for lunch! I think we're going to do the hot air balloon thing if we don't chicken out, so maybe we'll head over to downtown disney one afternoon for lunch and the balloon!

That is SO cute your DF made you a mickey mouse funfetti cake!!!! How sweet that he spent 6 hours on it!!

I cannot believe single digits start tomorrow!!!!!!!!!! AHH! It's so crazy, I feel like I've been planning forever, and now I'm down to only 10 days!!!!:eek::eek:

Thanks! I briefly thought of different flavors for each tier, but I figured that would be too much of a PITA for the people serving the cake. Plus, who doesn't LOVE funfetti??:confused3

Exiciting News!!! Praying for Gram & that she will hopefully make it to the wedding.
* No need to reply back just letting you know I'm thinkin' of ya with pixie dust !!) pixiedust:
