How do I decide??? I'll be upgrading to my 1st smartphone within the next couple weeks. I'll be sticking with AT&T.

My needs are fairly basic: Texting, Web Surfing, Basic calendar & email functions, pictures, etc. Just for personal use ~ Not needed for business. I don't think I need a full slide-out keyboard, though it'll be my 1st time without so it'll take some getting used to.

I don't really like the IPhones. I don't know why, they just don't "call my name".

I think I'm leaning towards the Windows HTC Surround or Blackberry Torch.

Can anyone give me the Pros & Cons of each OS? Any specific suggestions?

There is no contest between an Android phone and a Blackberry. I see the demise of Blackberry in the not to distant future. Android is FAR superior to any Blackberry (having owned several different Blackberrys). I have never played with a Windows phone so I don't know where they fit into the picture.

Can't help with OS exactly - but my dd & I have a Droid & dh has an iphone & I prefer the iphone.
BUt I'm finally getting used to mine & it's okay - dd has the QWERTY keyboard & its sooo much easier than the touch screen - though I did get fast on the itouch (dh doesn't let me txt on his iphone)

DD & I use Sprint - Dh is with At&t

Blackberry - my Palm-loving best friend finally gave up her Palm Trio for a Blackberry Torch; she still misses the Palm but likes the BB, too.

Apple - those who have them typically love them, but I refuse to support Apple (they played a huge part in the new "agency pricing" structure that drove up the prices of my beloved ebooks); also, they offer only the virtual keyboard which in itself would be a deal-breaker for me - I need a physical keyboard or I'll be screwing up texts left and right!

Android - my friends who have android phones seem to really lilke them - regardless of the phone itself. Seems to be a good OS, and I plan to get one myself this afternoon (EVO Shift)

Windows - my mom has a Windows phone (HTC Touch Pro 2) and hasn't had problems with the OS... yet. I would just always be concerned with any Windows product that the Blue Screen of Death will eventually show up. lol

Don't even consider Windows 7 IMO, it's just not going to take any foothold in the battle...

It's going to be Android or Iphone...the rest won't survive the next few years I don't believe

I love my Droid 2! :lovestruc I used to have a blackberry and my droid is SO MUCH BETTER!! My oldest DD wanted a blackberry when she got her new phone but I think she's crazy. :confused3
