STEP AEROBICS!

Okay, so here I am, minding my own business (ok - that might be a stretch goal, but it makes for a good story LOL), doing my step aerobics very enthusiatically to "Dancing Queen" (I have to say I think I was looking pretty darn good!) when lo and behold, my right foot decided to step half on, half off of a step.

My right foot, not knowing what to do at this point (feeling perplexed and disoriented), decided to just "bail out", and therefore took me down --- and with a complete lack of style I might add! As I lay there immobile I knew I was doomed.

A trip to the doctor and the orthopedist confirmed I not only have a very very severe sprain (extremely black and blue and swollen) but also a broken bone in my foot. I am now donning a very stylish full foot/calf boot -- and just in time for our trip to WDW next week! LOL

Ah, Princess Grace I am not, but I did learn a very important lesson which I would like to pass along to everyone ---- if ever you were looking for a good reason NOT to do step aerobics, THIS IS IT!!! ;) ;) ;)

Aloha,
Lorraine

:rotfl:
oh dear i hope your foot heals quickly.....i used to do step when i was younger but i was never very co-ordinated and was always miles behind everyone else in the classs

Knew there was a good reason for me not doing this.

Hope you feel better soon.

A cautionary tale indeed!!! Hope it all gets better really quickly!! :sunny:

Ouch Lorraine!

I know how you are feeling...I am just getting back to normal after spraining my ankle a few weeks ago.
I wasn't doing step aerobics just coming back from taking the dog from the vets  and went over the little bit of path we have in the garden. Oh the pain!

Take care
Michelle

:rotfl:
oh no! I tried this in January when I was still on my health kick! I really got into it but after one session couldn't walk for about 3 weeks afterwards, needless to say I never went again!

Hope you feel better soon! :grouphug: :wizard:

I hope you feel better soon.

Still, you are going to Walt Disney World!!! :cool1:

Andy

:rotfl: :rotfl2: LOL, Lorraine - I'm not laughing at ya, but laughing with ya :grouphug:

OUCH.

Now you take care of that little foot and make sure it's protected next week. Will you be able to walk on it, or will you be getting your own set of wheels?

Take special care :wizard:

LOL Loraine! It's not funny really I know, but it's the way you told it ;)

At last it has been confirmed, Step is officially bad for your health :teeth:

I hope you get better soon!

I'm just trying to do what I can to save others from doing these awful step aerobics! Doing aerobics is more than enough agony to put anyone through, why go up and down on steps at the same time???? Makes no sense --- and it seems my right foot knew that!

Michelle, I hope your foot is getting back to normal!!! A sprain is more awful than one would think!

And yes, I will be "wheeling" it in WDW next week. I can walk in my boot but not for long distances.

The funny thing is --- we will have my mom, who is wheelchair bound. A friend suggested we get tandom wheelchairs, similiar to strollers!!!! LOL LOL

So --- does anyone else care to share their "graceful moments"? LOL

Aloha,
Lorraine

Oh Lorraine!

Not still on the "falling over" water again? - LOL

:rolleyes1

my wife had a really bad sprain a few weeks back and surprisingly enough she rested it for a day then just got back on it and she was fine within about 3 days. I am not one to rest for too long, I think if you can start to move round it is better than sitting with your foot up.

I know you women, lounging around all day nothing to do.........
:teeth:
Steve

You poor thing, Lorraine. Put it up, and get a maid. You deserve it!!! :sunny:

Oh Lorraine - Julie says your a complete wally :) LOL

Hope your foot doesn't hurt too bad.
