Sitting on VS15 waiting for the crew to close the doors...nearly time for our 3 weeks in the sunshine.

Lovely breakfast at Giraffe before a nice easy stroll through to airside, then boarding for our seats was announced as soon as we got to the gate...result :)

Will post some updates during the trip, as know people like these...see you soon everyone

Breakfast at Giraffe - yum yum :thumbsup2

Not going well so far. Thunderstorms at Orlando airport have meant the airport has closed temporarily so we are sitting on the tarmac at Miami refueling. This is going to be a long day!

Just over 3 hours delayed in the end...left the airport around 9.30pm.

Absolutely worn out but will post more tomorrow.

Sorry to hear that you got delayed, but happy that you got there safely. Have a wonderful trip! :-) :thumbsup2

Hi everyone, thanks for all your messages yesterday. Nearly 20 trips to Florida over the years, and this was the first time we ever got re-routed, so shouldn't complain really. Virgin weren't the greatest in terms of letting us know what was going on, but just one of those things I guess.

Massive line at immigration, and that took about an hour to get through, but then things picked up... Dropped the bags through customs, rather than take them on the train and they then come out at bag claim 8A which is on the rental car level, rather that the one above - worth being aware of.

Next piece of good news was Dollar Express. Walked up to the kiosk in the parking lot and the guy had my paperwork ready, didn't even want to see driving licence, and gave me a choice of 2 mini vans, both same model - Town and Country. Whole process took less than two mins. Went to the VIP line to get the car and found it had sat radio, reversing camera, electric doors and boot open/close...oh, and video screens for the kids. Very nice :cool1:

Got MacDs on the way to Indian Creek, and the villa is gorgeous, really well decorated and loads of Disney touches.

Slept well, and then made early trip to Publix, and then just had breakfast and an early morning swim for the kids.

Right, just finishing the unpacking and off to Epcot!

Glad you got there in the end, have fun at Epcot! :cool1:

Glad you got a nice car from Dollar, we are using them again in August for a 7 seater using Dollar Express, hope we get a good one, last 7 seater I got from Budget was the worst car I have ever had over there.

Did you do some kind of pre-reg then to have the docs ready?

I don't like shopping that much - but Publix is my favourite for doing the grocery shop! You sound well pleased with your villa - we were at Windsor Palms at Christmas - so not too far away.

Glad you got there in the end without a massive delay - although 3 hours is pretty big when your on your Orlando time!

Very jealous that you are going to EPCOT, its my absolute favourite! Have an amazing holiday! Love reading live trip reports! :thumbsup2

Yes, just via the link that has been posted on here before though. So refreshing to get no upsell on stuff, not that the 'wouldn't you like a bigger car' is ever really an option with a minivan :)

Much better day today, been at Epcot since about 10.30 to catch the last day of the flower festival. It looks lovely with all the different topiaries around, and this really is my favourite time of year to be here.

Visited all the festival specific attractions like the butterfly house which is massive this year, and the kids playgrounds that DS + DD love...it's a shame they don't keep these all year round.

Lovely meal at Coral Reef, and then wandered around World Showcase a bit, taking in the gardens and doing the activity they've created to publicise Cars 2 - basically the kids collect stickers in 6 of the countries and then get a badge. They loved it :)

New musical group in the UK sounds good, quite fresh compared to the British Invasion, and they get through quite a decent set list as they don't tend to play entire songs, more the best bits of more recent artists like the Police, Queen and the Clash.

Saw Herman Hermits on the way out - Peter Noone is a great showman - and then a quick spin on Test Track before we left. Back in the villa now for some home cooked food and then an early night.

Debating about driving up a little closer for the shuttle launch tomorrow. It wasn't in our plans, but will see how we feel in the morning.

Will upload some photos in the next few days.

We saw Hermans Hermits last year in Epcot, never heard of them before but enjoyed watching them.

I would highly recommend a trip to the coast(Titusville) if possible, seeing a shuttle launch is amazing, seen 4 now and I hope the last one is delayed til August so we can see a 5th.
