My rather inexpensive pc quit working yesterday after two years. Turns out the fan had a problem and melted the motherboard. *sigh*
I need a computer so the question became do I replace my pc or go for a Mac? The big benefit to a Mac is that my school board runs on them so it allows me to work from home and connect to the school systems (which refuse to play with pc's).
Sadly, my shopping experience at the Apple store was less then stellar. The store was busy, which is completely to be expected as it's the weekend before school starts. But trying to get someone to actually help me was like pulling teeth! I finally found someone who appeared to be about 14 who was willing to take my money but completely unwilling to answer questions to actually take a few minutes to show me anything. My computer came out, he rang though my credit card, and before I could say anything he walked off. To add to my disillusion with this store I also spotted another employee helpfully working with another family with his butt hanging so far out of his shorts I could see a good amount butt crack!
These people don't know how to put on pants and I'm going to trust them to know about computers?!
Anyway, my new Mac and I are home and getting to know each other. As a pc user I'm finding things a little different but not too complicated. Apart from the terrible retail experience I think we're going to get along just fine.
