...and a happy New Year! 12/30/2010

I saw on another website, Cruise TT maybe, that the Magic and Wonder are both supposed to be in St. Thomas at the same time for our cruise? Has this changed?

Yes.. The Magic is doing the Bahama's and not the Caribbean. This changed in April.

Well situations have changed, and we're not cruising this year, but it was nice for a couple of days.

Bon Voyage to everyone!!

Sorry you won't be cruising with us. Have a great holiday anyway! We'll have a drink for ya.

If anyone is up to connecting on facebook, send me a PM and I will give out my short name on facebook.

BTW... Happy Birthday Disneyland!!!

Here I am up at 2:30am... Just like I might be wanting to make Palo's reservations or something... Unfortunately can't do that yet.

Hope you finally got some sleep!!!

Going on 39 hours without sleep and I am punchy now... but don't want to go to bed now until closer to bed time so I can wake up at my normal time. Critical situation at work so had to deal with it.

I will admit to a few very late nights or even some nights with only a couple of hours sleep, but you hold the record as far as I am concerned!

Hope the situation gets resolved.

Kathy - Much better now. Got a full nights sleep and even some coffee in me this morning. Situation is better at work and I got a back up to cover for me.

I am so ready for this cruise and it is still 5 months away. I just thought I better check at when I need to make my PIF payment so that I can make those Palo reservations. Luckly we are 3 hours behind EDT, so I can make them at 9pm at night vs having to wait up until Midnight.

Welcome KyDizFan! Assume you are from Ky and you rebooked this while on board your baltic's cruise?

OMG... I forgot about bowl games... DH will probably join you or at least sneek a few peeks in the bar.

Hi all cruisers!!!
I'm a frequent lurker (who am I kidding, I'm on here everyday :)). Love the cruise board!

We have booked our first ever DCL cruise and my DH first ever cruise, excited beyond words.

So looking forward to spending NYE on the ship, its going to be amazing!

Anyways, just wanted to introduce my family & I, we are:

Me - 42 loves all things Disney (born n raised in FL)
DH - 46, Midwest guy, loves hockey and FOOD, doesnt know a darn thing about Disney, but knows he needs a vacation :thumbsup2.
DS - 10, loves vacations, will travel anywhere. Adding money to his "vacation piggy" like a madman.

We live in SC, right on the border of Charlotte NC, and after this brutal summer (over 46 days of 90+ weather) we need a vacation!!!

Look forward to cruising with ya'll!

Mimi

Mimi,

Welcome!!! So glad ya'll could join us. We look forward to getting to know you better. I can totally understand about brutal summers. We compare all summers to 1980 when we had over 100 degree for well over a month, or was it longer. We really try to forget that time.

Let me know if ya'll want to join the FE.

:welcome: to the party: it looks like we'll have a larger group going than we thought! Yea!
I just bought my water shoes and formal dress yesterday, they were on clearence - double yea. Now I get to start looking for formal wear for the kids. I'm so excited, can't wait to go on this cruise.

I guess I live brutal summers out here in the desert. This year has been so nice, but we have had no rain yet :headache: We still compare everything to back when we hit 117 degrees which is the all time high. The newspaper printed up T-Shirts that said "I survived the high of 117".

Here is wishing for those tropical breezes!

We did not do Palos last cruise since it was only a 4 night. We wanted to experience all our restaurants. ;) Hopefully I can get us ressies for a brunch at Palos. That seems like it would be a good way to experience it. :)

I will admit that we have not to date (that I know of) ever reached 117!! :scared1: We have had 103 - 104 days, now we have had a lot of 110 heat index days and I think those are just as bad. We have had some rain this year. Not enough, but we had had a really good storm move through here on Sunday and Monday. :woohoo: Monday's had some pretty good winds with it that caused some tree damage to my neighbor's property.

We have done both dinner and brunch. I definitely prefer the dinner and love the relax feeling and how well they take care of you. One thing I noticed is that what ever servers you had for one they try to give you the same servers for your next visit.

One tip I learned from this board.. If you are going to book, book Brunch first as they fill up more quickly then dinner and then book your dinner reservations.

I do have to admit when we do get hot like over 110 degrees the humidity is very low (below 10%) so it never really feels that hot. It just feels like you in an oven because the sun is so intense. Plus nights are pretty bad because it never cools down, so we might still be over 90 degrees at 10pm at night. We don't change to Daylight time, so the sun goes down here before 8pm. But the Monsoon, we can get rainstorms and the temps can drop 30 degrees in a matter of an hour. Last night we were able to shut off the A/C and open up the doors and hang outside. It was lovely 75 degrees about 7pm, because the sun was behind clouds most of the afternoon and it was raining somewhere in town.

I know it is still 5 months away but, do we know how many are participating in the FE and are we having bands made for our group and is there any DIS meet arranged yet?? Thanks so much

Christine
