Hey everyone! Does anyone have any ideas for anchoring a tent on a premium site. I know the entire site is a concrete pad and I was just wondering if anyone has improvised a way to pitch a tent? Thanks for all your help!

It's a bit of an overstatement to say the entire site is concrete.. I just get a mental picture of some suburban California-style campgrounds that are parking lots with utility hookups! The pad is larger than on other types of sites, but it is still surrounded by earth and landscaping. Depending on your site, there may not be a whole lot of earth around the pad (ala some in 1400), or the ground may fall away sharply from the pad, or you may be hemmed in by vegetation but you should be able to set a tent up on a corner of your pad and get three corners staked. You can bring a water jug to anchor the fourth corner (light for travel, fill on site). I set up an EZUp tent on our site and just ran a rope down from the center and tied it to the picnic table, and that worked fine for me.

My BIL has a set of 4 bricks covered with carpet that he uses in his tent when he's unable to stake it down for whatever reason. He's never been to the Fort, poor guy, but I'm sure it would work there.

Thanks for the ideas! ShanMan, ewwe yeah the parking lot campground visual, no good! We have a 6'x7' dome tent going on the site with a 36' RV. I think we will be able to rig it up. We are heading up there on April 30th, I'm so excited!

I'm interested in how this really works too. We've booked a premium site and while we didn't intend on using a tent we WERE planning on using our canopy screen room around the picnic table and our chairs. It helps us to not all have to be in the TT all the time which can get kinda crowded- especially if I'm cooking and such. Now I have no idea how we'll tether that thing down on concrete! :scared1:
