Okay, I can't take it any longer and I need a Disney fix!

What's the latest scoop on the Anaheim Hilton? For various reasons I am thinking about staying there vs. some of the other close hotels.

How close is the Hilton really? Their web site says they are a block away, but for someone who "just can't take another step at the end of a long day at the park", is it really a good hike away? Is it a block from the main entrance or a block from the edge of the parking lots? Do they have any shuttles?

Any other info on it would be great too!

My thought is the edge of the parking lot. I could be wrong but I don't think so. The Anaheim Hilton is by the convention center if that helps.

We just stayed there & really liked it. It is not terribly far away, although at the end of the night every step is too far!! :rotfl:

The hotel is located directly across the street from the Timon parking lot. [Which is just behind Cal.Adv.] Its location is quite convenient at the end of the night since you can just take the Timon/Lion King tram to the end of the parking lot and then you are basically just across the street.

A word of warning, however, the hotel is HUGE so ask for a room near the elevators to save yourself tons of walking.

We would definitely return. :thumbsup2

The Anaheim Hilton was refurbing it's rooms one floor at a time last year. If you get lucky, the refurbed rooms are really nice. The older rooms are nice, but definitely starting to show their age.

I'm guessing you might be a Hilton Honors member? Another board friend of mine was able to access the Executive Level (e.g. Concierge level) because of her HHonors status and had access to some nice perks. A "Disney View" room also gives you a nice view of the fireworks, should you decide to leave the parks before they start. Although, you do miss out on the soundtrack, the fireworks are still pretty awesome :)

you do not have to be a hilton honors person to get an executive level room. I would recommend not staying on the hilton honors floor however, that was the worst floor. . . the executive floor is nice, but if I remember correctly being refurbed last. . . you get nicer sheets, nicer linens. . . and a robe to use for your stay along with the lounge. . . and they turn the lights off in the lounge for the fireworks. . . pretty nice seat in the house for fireworks btw. . . the last time we were there, mother's day weekend, we really wished we could have been on the 5th floor, it is all purty . . and NEWD . . :) can you tell we stay there often???

We stayed there March for spring break. Pricelined it got a free upgrade to a remodeled room. Nice, clean rooms- horribly small pool for a hotel that size. It is very easy walking distance. Our six year old twins had no problem even after 10-12 hours in the park. Just go down the walk between the convention center and the Hilton, cross at the crosswalk right there, go through the pedestrian gate of timon parking lot catch the tram and it takes you to the gates. We went back and forth a couple times a day! I think we were on the 10th floor, from our room to the front gate wasn't over 15 minutes with good timing of the shuttle. We would definitely stay there again!

You didn't post when you are going but I believe the Timon parking lot is used for overflow parking on busy days so if they don't have people parking there, there won't be a tram.
