Anaheim Garden Walk

They also have a nice movie theatre - Cinema Fusion - which besides current movies has a classic series on the 2nd Wednesday of each month (see the "Screening Room" heading). Next up is "North By Northwest" on 2/11. We saw "It's A Wonderful Life" last month.

We were just there, the new Worldmark building is right at the end of the Garden Walk block. VERY close. Are you owners at WM? We were considering it just for the Anaheim property but we decided to wait....I'd love some info on them if you have it. :)

We are Worldmark owners. We almost bought DVC, but at the time they didn't have anything in Anaheim and Worldmark did. If you buy Worldmark, buy from timeshare angels (secondary market). It is soooo much cheaper and you get everything you would get if you buy from the developer (except Travel Share and I don't think the extra $$ is worth it). We will be staying at the new Worldmark in March in a 2 bedroom unit....washer/dryer, kitchen, sleeps 6 and since our timeshare is paid off it won't cost us anything additional.

Let me know if you want additional information...you can pm me :)

PS Thanks for the info on Garden Walk...I can't wait!

Timeshare Angels, thank you, we will check into that. I'm guessing they are online? I'd love to hear how the property is when you get back! I'll send you a PM so you can reply that way and we don't jumble up this post with WM info. :)

I am staying at the candy cane, and thinking of walking here for dinner on the arrival night (before we start our park tickets). Is it similar to Downtown Disney? do I need park admission for downtown disney? Does anyone have photos ? Thanks :goodvibes

Similar in the fact that it's an outdoor mall. But they still haven't been able to fill up all the spaces. All the big restaurants are on the south end on Katella. The food court is on the second (top) level at the north end next to the theater. The bar (Bar Louie?) is on the first level under the food court. And Bowling is on the "basement" level. From what I've heard, the bowling alley is probably the most upscale bowling alley you'd ever go to. There's also a 24-hour fitness in there, though I still haven't been curious enough to find the entrance for it.

There's a few other regular mall shops there, not worth a visit for if you've got a mall near you...

On a side note, the Taste of Anaheim is coming up soon. http://www.tasteofanaheim.com.

I received a GC for McCormick & Schmidt for Christmas, so DD & I headed there for dinner last month. OMG! I was born and raised in So Cal and I have to say that we had one of our best meals EVER here - really! The service, ambiance, food, specialty cocktails, everything was perfect. We will be back, for sure.:thumbsup2 We did go on a Friday night and circled the garage for quite some time looking for a spot. And they do validate. Luckily we had a reservation so got right in, but we heard a party told that there were no more spots available for the evening but they could wait 90 minutes and see.:scared1: I think not! I really hope this spot makes it big as DTD eateries need some competition and there really are some nice shops and restaurants to visit at the Gardenwalk.

Park admission is not required for DTD, but you will pass through the security checkpoint to access it. DTD is busier and more filled with families. The Gardenwalk is more upscale, newer, and has yet to be...um... broken it, shall we say.

In the few photographs I have seen - or artists impressions, it shows waterfalls and pools at garden walk, is that for swimming or just looking at or what?

The only water I've seen is simply for visual effect. Nothing for swimming. But your hotel should have a pool for that. :)

can we walk there from Hojo?
The Gardenwalk is indeed walkable from Hojos, but is around a mile give or take. So if you're up to a leisurely, healthy 25 minute stroll in the afternoon (or evening or whenever), then I'd say go for it.

When we went this past summer we stayed at the Residence Inn right behind the Gardenwalk. We walked down Disneyway everytime to and from the hotel and we didn't have any problem. Yes it is more deserted than Katella. We ate at both California Pizza Kitchen and Cheesecake Factory. The one thing we found though the Cheesecake Factory doesn't have a kids menu(if you are bringing kids).

I don't believe any Cheesecake Factory locations have printed kid's menus. However, they do have options for kids, you just have to ask your server. It's a little hard not knowing exactly what is available, but my guess is that most anything is probably available in a kid's portion at a reduced price. We went there (a different So Cal location for my birthday and my kids ordered kid's pizzas. They looked to be the same size as the regular pizzas, but we were charged about $5-6 each. My kids love the Cheesecake Factory, mostly because they serve some breakfast items all day. :goodvibes

GardenWalk has some great restaurant options. I work in Anaheim and the new restaurants there have really filled what I would consider to be a void in mid-level dining in Anaheim.

Does the Cheesecake Factory take reservations? Any other restaurants on the Garden Walk take reservations?
