Hi everone, planning a trip in the next couple of weeks and have Camelot Inn already booked, we have stayed there the last few years, we get a suite and it fits our family well. The beds could be a little more comfy but other than that it has been a good stay. I am however, interested in what you all think about the 2 hotels. I have a hold on a room at the Candy Cane as well, it is a Queen/Queen w/a rollaway. We have 5 people in our family (hubby & I and 3 small kids). Should I keep the reservation I have or try Candy Cane?
Anyone have experience with them both? Heard good and bad about both, and only have experience with one. A friend just came back from Candy Cane-they only have 4 people in their family though, so not sure if that makes a huge difference.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have stayed at the Candy Cane many times. It is a wonderful little place. I have never had to use a roll away, but in my opinion, there really isn't a lot of room in the room for one and it will definitely be cramped with 5 people. If you have the suite, and have been happy at the Camelot, I would stick with it.

Haven't stayed at either, but just back from a stay at Fairfield Inn and here are a couple of observations:

1) Camelot is really just a motel and pool. No real landscaping per se. I hear that Candy Cane is nicely landscaped.

2) Camelot is just across the street, CCI is either a hike or shuttle.

3) CCI shuttle was in the shuttle area nearly every time we walked through it. Seemed very consistent and reliable.

4) Our walk from Fairfield Inn was quick in the morning, but with sore feet at night much longer. It would have been nice to have a shuttle available then.

We just got back from the Camelot last month, and it was FABULOUS!! I cannot say enough about how perfect that family suite was for us! It was HUGE!!

For us, the Camelot was way better than the CCI, simply because of the suite/two room setup, as well as closeness to the park.
Some friends of ours stay at the CCI (last two trips) and love it there too - they don't mind the long walk, and they don't spend any time in the room (only to sleep at night - their kiddos don't nap anymore), so being crowded is ok for them. However, as the pp said, with a rollaway it looks like it would be a bit cramped...

We are 5 and always stay at CCI. We have always done the premium rooms so I can't compare to the other ones. We add a rollaway bed really with no problems. I guess it's always nice to have more room but honestly, I've never felt cramped in CCI's premium room and have never had it be an issue or topic of conversation during our stay.

The in-room breakfast delivery outweighs everything else for us!

As others have said the CCI will be tight for five...

Thanks guys I appreciate all your responses! I think we will keep our reservations at Camelot as we have been pretty happy with them in the past! big room's seperate room for the kids too, just might need to bring a topper for the bed to make it a little more comfy :thumbsup2

Maybe next time we will check out the CCI as I have also heard so many good things about it. ? for all of you that have been there, is the premium room much bigger than the regular? As for the breakfast in room, what is that all about? is that just room service? or is that the free continental that they bring up to your room?

Thanks again.... oh and I found this site for pictures

I'm sure you'll be happy with your decision. Just relax and forget about trying to chose a hotel now and enjoy the fun of trip planning!

As far as the sizes at CCI, they have a standard room (360 sq ft), a deluxe room (400 sq ft), and a premium room. To my knowledge the size is the same as the deluxe room but you get several bonus items that include a welcome amenity, free daily video rental, in-room safe, nightly turndown service, newspaper, and extended checkout among other things. The in-room breakfast delivery consists of a menu that you fill out for both hot and cold items and the time you want it delivered then hang it on your door prior to 2am. They will deliver a basket with everything you requested. Trust me, with 5 of us, the basket is usually crammed full! We've never been shorted on anything. And, in our experience, they have always been right on time no matter how early we request the delivery.

Hope this helps some. Enjoy the Camelot though and let us know how it goes. :thumbsup2
