We have always stayed at the Fairfield but I just got a rate at 40.00 less a night at the Anaheim Best Inn! If you have stayed here PLEASE let me know what you think! I believe that it used to be the Days Inn,or something like that, right behind the Denny's on Harbor near the crosswalk to the Park. I always thought of it as kind of scary and run down from the outside, but everything I've read says it's completely remodeled since Best Inn took over. The location and price are just too good, especially with 2 queen beds and a fridge and microwave included. Any opinions or info would be greatly appreciated!

Well, I went ahead and booked a room for May. At 49.00/nt I just had to lock it in. The pictures on their website are quite nice for the price. And the gentleman who took my call was very friendly. With the location and amenities it's worth a try.

But please if you have stayed there, I'd still love to hear any thoughts or opinions. Please!

Donja just hate when you get no feed-back! Seriously, I'm bumping this for you in case someone can help you. I'm sure no one responded, because no one who has been there saw your post. So maybe someone could let you know something. Any locals drive by there recently? I don't know how many run-down motels there are that close to DLand. Most have been remodeled - so you're probably safe.

I've driven by it and it looks okay on the outside. :D Most of the surrounding motels and hotels have went under refurbishment due to DCA opening up so chances are it will be really hard to find a bad place to stay.

Wow, that price looked so good that I just booked 4 nights with them (I didn't quite get the $49.00 a night price though). Still it seems great after the quote I got from DL last week ($1612.00 for the same time frame, but it included 2 4-day flex passports). The local Disney Store quoted me $127 (or $128??) as the Disney Club price for the 4-day flex passports. The only real difference is that I only get 1 day of early entry vs. the 3 I would have been able to use had I stayed at the DL (not available on Sunday which is one of the days I would have been there). My room and the flex passports are still $1000.00 less than the DL quote. Great savings huh? Thanks for the original post Princess!

I decided to book Anaheim Best Inn too. Got the $49.00 a night rate. We just decided this morning to go to Disneyland in May. The place looks fine. We won't spend much time in our room anyway! We're only going for 4 nights but I'm so excited!!

Thanks for the replies! I got my confirmation notice in the mail today and they included a nice brochure of the place. It had nice pictures of the rooms and the pool. Its a small pool, but they only have abt 60 rooms, and they do have a nice hot tub. The refrigerators in the rooms are bigger than most hotels, and yes the interior was all completely remodeled last May. I am so excited!!!
After adding the room tax, I'm saving 150.00 over the price the Fairfield and even the Candy Cane quoted me for my stay. Yeah!!! To make me even happier, when I told them I would be arriving much earlier than check in, probably 8am, they told me I could register as soon as I got there and if they had a room ready I could have it, and if not I could at least park there and enjoy Disneyland until 2pm, their standard check in time! Less than 2 months to go!!!

Princess Annejanette:

Did they give any information about a shuttle to DL? (or do you just walk across the street and through the parking lot?). As I recall the DL parking lots are enormously large. Thanks a bunch for this post. I got my airfare today and the total cost of rooms, flex passports, and airfare is still less than what Disney quoted me for 4-days at the DL Resort and the park hopper passes.

Disneyland Pacific - 5 days JUN 98
Disneyland Hotel - 4 days SEP 98
Poly - 8 days APR 00

I Was reading a trip report (I believe written by Julia M) and she said you can walk from Anaheim Best Inn to DL in less than 8 minutes!

We stayed for 3 nights last December. There were 5 of us (2 adults, 3 kids) I am not sure if they normally allow 5 or not-we happened to talk to someone nice and explained our 3 year old frequently slept with us, so he said it was okay!

You can see a report of the room in my trip report from December.

To summarize:
We paid $49 and thought it wa a great deal. There's a free b'fast, but basically sweet rolls and coffee. The room was much bigger than i expected, although it didn't have a breakfast table. It did have a couple of chairs.

The walk was very quick-about 8 minutes from our room to the main entrance at DL. We were walking with 3 small kids, so adults could probably go faster!!

It's not the Ritz, but was clean, functional and in a great location. We would definitely stay again!

Feel free to e-mail me with any questions

Luv the Mouse-
It is right across the street from the pedestrian entrance. So there is a crosswalk to a landscaped sidewalk that takes you directly to the entrances to DL and DCA and into Downtown Disney. So you are not walking through a chaoctic parking lot, but a nicely designed walkway designed for those staying on Harbor Blvd. I think it is one of the nicest things Disney has added. It is about a 5 minute walk. Their brochures do state a free shuttle though, but I think it would take more time and energy since the shuttle drop off/pickup at the Parks is already half way back to the hotel, saving you only about 3 minutes of walking.

I'm glad you read the post and got a good deal. Since you said you didn't get the 49.00 rate, I would call back at different times and see if someone else quotes you a better rate. I am not a AAA member, and I still get the 49.00 rate. Their internet site can give you quotes too. Good Luck!!
