An unusual request....

My DW's uncles played Little Ricky on the I Love Lucy show and they were there with Lucy and Ricky on the opening day of Disneyland. Now no one can seem to find a picture of them, so my question is if anyone out there might have one, either a copy of the official picture or one that was taken by a guest.

wow 65 views and not even one post with so much as a question! Also, if anyone knows someone that might have the picture but is not online, please ask them. If the picture is around they would love to know, if it can't be scanned and put online, I am sure arrangements for a payment for a copy could be made.

Boy that is a tough one. Did you try the newspapers that were in print @ the time? Or contact Disney directly?

Why not contact Disneyland? I am sure they have photos from the opening.

They have indeed contacted:

• Disneyland
• Disney
• Local Newspapers
• ABC (They covered the opening day festivities)

In many cases it has been confirmed that they were indeed there, but there is no picture anywhere to be found for some odd reason. They do know that there was a press photo taken with them at the Tea Cups, but it seems to have vanished from everywhere. So they figure someone must have a picture out there somewhere, even if it is not an official one, that either someone or one of their family members that was there on opening day may have taken at least. I figured boards like these would be one of the best bets to find such a person (or someone related to them).

I'm not sure but I think I saw a picture of it at the Lucy Tribute at Universal Studios. Maybe check with them?

I Love Lucy is my all time favorite comedy!

On one of the Disney Treasure's DVD - Disneyland U.S.A - there's a "Dateline Disneyland" show, which was Disney's filming of the opeing of Disneyland. It is packed with shots of the celebrites that were there that day. Lucy and Desi aren't listed in the credits, but they might be in a quick shot with your uncles.

Could be worth a rental - or if you ask on the Community Board, somebody will have the DVD's and can check them for you.

Rental!!! You mean you have reason to believe that not every single person on the DIS has the full metal box set?

Actually I was thinking the same thing. You could also do a video capture for a grainy black and white shot, if you find it.

well - I did spend a little while searching google and some Lucy fansites for photos - but I didn't find anything, so I had nothing to post. I figured I wouldn't post that, since it didn't really help!
